chigator2:Me sef dey wonder o, whether it is the faction destroyed by the beggarly, wicked, ologogoro land grabber. anonimi:2023: PDP and politics of healing Wike’s self-inflicted injury Then, the race began in earnest for three years now, reaching a frenzy with the works of the two PDP committees on zoning. The first was the Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi committee on the zoning of the PDP party offices. The Ugwuanyi committee quickly told the world the committee’s assignment did not cover zoning the office of the president. Though this was true, the question is: why didn’t the Ugwuanyi committee zone the PDP chairmanship to the North without aligning it to the divide that would produce the PDP presidential flag-bearer? The second committee headed by Gov Samuel Ortom of Benue state was specifically on the zoning of the presidential ticket and, with the votes of the representatives of all the 17 Southern states without any exception, the Committee unanimously recommended throwing open the PDP presidential ticket, which the PDP NEC simply upheld. One thing irrefutably stands out – Wike shot himself in the leg. Here was a man who had an overarching influence on both committees but could not insist that the ticket be zoned South. Many had wondered why? The reason is also relatively in plain sight: the Southeast factor. As the clamour for zoning of the presidential ticket of the PDP to South reached its crescendo, many had pointed out the fact that though the PDP Constitution had prescribed zoning of the office of the president to be between North and South since the South-west and South-south had taken their turns in producing the president and the vice in this current dispensation in the persons of Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, zoning this time around, should not just be to the South but the Southeast. Atiku Abubakar went a step further by offering to step down from the race if it would be agreed that the touted zoning to the South would mean micro-zoning to the Southeast. Wike and the rest could not take the Atiku challenge maybe because Atiku would likely back Peter Obi, who was his vice-presidential running mate in 2019 and an ally. The prospects of Peter Obi picking the ticket if PDP zoned South was so real compelling Wike to go for an open contest, believing he could pick it up ahead of Atiku, Tambuwal and Bala Mohammed, given his large war chest. https://www.thecable.ng/2023-pdp-and-politics-of-healing-wikes-self-inflicted-injury/amp ddippset: |

These two friends Seyi and Wike need to reconcile ASAP. They have demonstrated to us that they are heavy weight politically. Even the Iran US and Israel war at a time the paused and see if negotiations can yield a positive results. If they don't shield their swords as ASAP they may both lose at after all. |

Anyone that follows this PDP wahala without emotions will know Wike's group somehow, based on the available facts at hand (pending the time Supreme Court CTC is out) has the upper hand here. That Ibadan FHC judgement recognising Abdulrahman and Anyawu as Caretaker committee of the PDP na big plus...it paved the way for Wike's backed National convention. I hope the Turaki-Makinde group are very certain Supreme Court CTC will state that Anyawu's case. Let's see how it goes |

Nobody will risk buying the PDP forms or contesting under it. Even Seyi Makinde done japa to APM. PDP is dead and buried. |

adioolayi:Ehen So in your dictionary, a high court judgement supersedes a supreme court judgement? The SC dismissed their appeal which meant the suspension stands and you're still asking about FHC judgement Na wa o |

adioolayi:Because you don't know judicial interpretation if indeed you are not bias.....they knocked Turaki chairmanship only because they went ahead to do the convention despite high court ruling to stop.... meanwhile, court also affirmed Anyanwu suspension, What that means.......no official leaders in PDP and in absence of that, BOT would take over of mantle, meanwhile, the recognise official BOT, even before convention is Wabara led, which also Turaki faction. |
| Re: PDP Further Extends Deadline For Purchase Of Expression And Nomination Forms by adioolayi(m): 7:20am On May 08 |
Fiscus105:I understand this is what is in the news..but they are all saying they have not seen the Supreme Court CTC. If they haven't, how do we know this is truly there? Meanwhile, Wike faction has shown a FHC judgement that Turaki faction has also appealed and the appeal is pending. |
| Re: PDP Further Extends Deadline For Purchase Of Expression And Nomination Forms by adioolayi(m): 7:22am On May 08 |
Kukutente23:This exactly is my point...who has seen the CTC of the Supreme Court...the answer is no one... because it is not our yet. Wike's camp is saying it is not there...Turaki camp is saying it's there.... meaning, no one can factually state what is there. Until it is out. The only available facts as at today is that FHC judgement. |

Which faction is the authentic faction ? Which faction should people buy their forms from? With the way this party is doing I doubt if any serious aspirant will use pdp for elections . And lastly one can never say ,at the last minute ,both wike and makinde may suddenly merge and claim all is well. |
| Re: PDP Further Extends Deadline For Purchase Of Expression And Nomination Forms by Kukutente23: 7:49am On May 08 |
adioolayi:Nonsense Are you even aware that SC judgement are read in open courts and recorded? So you mean everyone in the SC that day went deaf except for Wike and his goons? A judgement read in open court becomes enforceable immediately |
| Re: PDP Further Extends Deadline For Purchase Of Expression And Nomination Forms by adioolayi(m): 7:52am On May 08 |
Kukutente23:...and you don't think, since both parties are making different assertions, it's the CTC of the judgement that will solve the issue ![]() I think you are the one saying nonsense here. If the CTC is not out ..no one can say, authoritatively what happened. |
| Re: PDP Further Extends Deadline For Purchase Of Expression And Nomination Forms by Fiscus105(m): 8:07am On May 08 |
adioolayi:Didn't lawyer represent them in the court? Is media not covered the judgment? Even from the body language, you will know Wike camp only struggling to explain their side of story for the public. He kept on doing strong head, just to pin down PDP til last minute for his boss to contest unopposed. |
| Re: PDP Further Extends Deadline For Purchase Of Expression And Nomination Forms by Kukutente23: 8:13am On May 08 |
adioolayi:Ok... so do you still believe that the Ibadan convention was cancelled or we should wait for CTC? Is David Mark back as ADC chairman or we're waiting for CTC? |
| Re: PDP Further Extends Deadline For Purchase Of Expression And Nomination Forms by adioolayi(m): 8:49am On May 08 |
Kukutente23:We should wait for the CTC, especially as two factions are giving different meanings to the judgement. That's my own position |
| Re: PDP Further Extends Deadline For Purchase Of Expression And Nomination Forms by Kukutente23: 8:50am On May 08 |
adioolayi:Maintain your position Only Wike is claiming that the SC never suspended Anyanwu and he was obviously not in court Those in court including neutral observers all agree that the SC dismissed Anyanwu's cross appeal which means he stands suspended |
| Re: PDP Further Extends Deadline For Purchase Of Expression And Nomination Forms by adioolayi(m): 8:52am On May 08 |
Fiscus105:Are the lawyers and parties not the ones giving different meanings to the judgement ![]() If it's clear and no ambiguity..why different interpretations ![]() They have to wait for the CTC..since it's being disputed by the two groups. That's my point |
