People sell land to carry out positive or negative business like setting up a business, travelling abroad, paying for medical bills, paying for schools, etc but not to buy rice and beans. Farming on that land can provide the rice and beans.

Yes, you are right. NIgerians have been selling their properties before tinubu became President. Heck, I remember how people were living on 010 as far back as 1989 self, and how students on campus were starving in universites in the same 1980's, and yeah, Nigerians have been selling stuff, even under GEJ and Yaradua, even when times were good.

But the ting is, many of the people who voted Tinubu voted him in with the idea that he would have a plan to stop such things from happening. Yeah, I know Nigerians are not patient and don't like long term planning, but so do many people in this world. And Nigerians would have accepted a leader who would have been honest and said it would take some time to fix the problems. But tinubu came with the same old populist mantra. I GO build road, go do this, do that. Even subsidy removal, he only supported it because by 2022, we had run out of money for subsides of any kind, and the budget was basically on life support. Even the worstest leader would know that was a decision that needed taking.

But instead of concrete plans, all we are seeing are the same old populist mantra. The result is that the same old suffering is going on. And your president too is not ready to face the truth about what is needed to fix the problem, it;s the same bloddy populist 'I build grand projects'...not even sensible grand projects. Ok..we have coastal highway, but no imrpoved spending on railways , no deregulation of the power sector, and it is even rumored he removed his finance minister because he was being strict with the purse strings.

Seriously, make we try somebody different. Yes, personally i know that Obi is just tinubu lookalike, same as Atiku, BUT...the thing is, we cannot keep on doing the same thing over and over again and getting the same result. All Nigerian leaders in my lifetime have been alike. Time we changed things up a bit until we get our political class to at least try something different.
