Lagos Landlord: Families Move to Reclaim Ancestral Lands From Igbos, Hausa, Others, List Targeted Areas

Families from Lagos have expressed their desire to reclaim lands that were leased out many years ago

They revealed that most of the lands' leases had expired and now want the lands returned to them

This is not the first time families have made such a step, and they will be hoping for another success

A group, Omo Eko Pataki, a forum of prominent indigenes of Lagos, has announced plans to reclaim their ancestral lands.

The move follows the Ojora Royal Family and Council's recent court-ordered acquisition of the grounds housing the Delta State government's Lagos State liaison office at Plot 235/237, Moshood Abiola Way (old Apapa Road), Ijora, Lagos.

The organization committed to returning Lagos families' lands across the states in a statement signed by Major-General Tajudeen Olanrewaju (retd), the trustee of the Omo Eko Pataki and a former Minister of Communications.

According to the Tribune, Omo Eko Pataki asserts that some heritage and monument sites sold and taken over for non-public purposes and other interests will be retrieved and given to the appropriate families and local authorities.

The group said: "Rightful landowners are reclaiming what is rightfully theirs in a state that has been dubbed, 'no man's land. "It of historical significance to note that the Idejo class, sometimes known as land owners, is one of Lagos' four traditional chiefs. In the history of the early Eko chieftaincy families, there were ten of them. This class now has a few more members." Be the first to get hottest news from our Editor-in-Chief

UGC According to the Tribune, Omo Eko Pataki asserts that some heritage and monument sites sold and taken over for non-public purposes and other interests will be retrieved and given to the appropriate families and local authorities.

"Rightful landowners are reclaiming what is rightfully theirs in a state that has been dubbed, 'no man's land. "It of historical significance to note that the Idejo class, sometimes known as land owners, is one of Lagos' four traditional chiefs. In the history of the early Eko chieftaincy families, there were ten of them. This class now has a few more members."

List of areas targeted for repossession In the statement from the group, areas were listed as belonging to families. The Awori Obas The group said have proprietary rights to the lands in
Onigbogbo Ewu
Ikeja
Agege
Alimosho
Ojo/
Badagry axis and part of Lagos East Senatorial District.

Other areas marked for repossession The group also listed other areas marked for repossession: "The old colonial City Hall in Campbell Street which used to be the official office of the first Mayor of Lagos, the Falomo Shopping Centre on Awolowo Road Ikoyi and the famous Glover Street/Kingsway Road junction residency of colonial administration that were pulled down for non-public purposes and other interests are examples of
inappropriate priorities
Arguments for repossession

The group also claimed that landowners and chieftaincy families have enormous power and responsibility in allocating lands to family leaders, immigrants, settlers, and others. It stressed that traditional leaders are crucial to land administration in Lagos State due to their traditional duties and ownership. It said: "It is undeniable that land tenure agreements penetrated the interaction between colonial-era administration and chieftaincy families who allocated property for public use."

He wants to be President.
His wife is a Senator.
His daughter Iya Loja controls all monies and levies generated in all Lagos markets.
His son, the advertising guru of state account is in charge of all billboard money generated in Lagos.
All B.R.T money goes to his Nephew.
His wife who is a Senator is the official supplier of diesel in all Lagos State formations, including street light generators.
All governmental taxes and other levies goes to the criminal JAGABAN himself through his consulting firm called Alpha Beta.
He owns a mega private hospital inside the state teaching hospital in Lagos.
His newspaper and T.V channel are the official paid propaganda channels.
He own almost all the remaining valuable real estates in Lagos.
He's entitled to pension 300% amount payable to governors which is a law he created by himself.
He's entitled to change of vehicles yearly and houses both in Lagos & Abuja (minimum 5 bedroom duplex).
All his domestic staff, cooks, gardeners, stewards, drivers, securities etc - are all paid by the government and are all pensionable.
He directly controls all the machinery of government in Lagos and some southwest States.
Unless there's something else that is wrong with you and your head, what else is he looking for in the Presidency?
If he had managed all the resources and States he controls very well, we should be the ones calling him to be our president.
Goddamn delusional old man.
And some poverty striken & tribalistic urchins are still foolishy & blindly campaigning for this same criminal who has looted Lagos State dry, and who is also responsible for their poverty.
A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE.

Why is this newsworthy?

If you leased your land, why not go and take it back without making noise about it?

The way some of you are projecting this BAT, do you guys think it's to his advantage??

Cos I don't think any right thinking Nigerian will want to vote a sectional president at this time

And everything points to the fact that we might experience another level of sectionalism with Tinubu

A piece of advice, start portraying your candidate with the interest of the nation at heart

If they're violating contracts get a court order to ordering them them to leave. After that have the police clear them out. Its that easy. Lol its not a big deal since a lease is not a purchase.

Seun, lalasticlala, oam4j

This guy repeatedly breaks rule 2 and 8 in this forum and go free.

Kindly act now or it's assumed you are in support.

There is no where in the trash he posted, Igbos were mentioned, but he put Igbos in the topic to incite or provoke tribal fight which is against rule 2.

The topic and the body are different which makes this false information against rule 8

Copy and paste without using your brain. No wonder your posts are always rubbish.

See how he's jumping like a monkey up and down. Remind us first when you take away Joe Igbokwe's land in Lagos.

It's pathetic that your father sold all lands without giving you any inheritance, hence the envy.

This is the only reason you are against Peter Obi, because Igbo people are landlords in Lagos state.

Unfortunately for you, there is nothing you can do about it. As a metropolitan city, more non indigenes will be landlords. So keep wailing.

Most of these ignorant potor kids do not know that their parents were acquiring those many lands on lease but they come on line bragging about buying up all lands in Lagos, forgetting that each day they brag, the lease come closer to expiry and their families are closer to being chased out cold on the streets.
