Lagos: This Doesn't Look Like The Africa People Expect! by ayloveit(op): 8:02pm On May 06
From the historic streets of Lagos Island to the glass towers of Victoria Island, the quiet luxury of Ikoyi, and the explosive coastal growth of Lekki — this is Lagos, Nigeria like you have never seen it before. Filmed entirely with a drone in 4K, this cinematic aerial video reveals Africa’s largest and most dynamic city from above.

Lagos is just an overpriced and over rated slum. Imagine praying over $5m for a property at Ikoyi or Eko Atlantic City, on less than a thousand square kilometers, no central water or waste system, you have to arrange yours, you must provide your own security, electricity and other basic amenities. Yet properties are more expensive than far more developed cities in the US.

The only problems Nigeria has are overpopulation and an absolute lack of discipline.

Lagos is a different city in Nigeria.. Eko ari omi sa legbelegbe… it’s funny that those who can’t do anything or be anything outside the city even though they came into the city via night buses are the ones who will always want to share negative comments of the city. Eko ilu ogbon.. Love it or leave it.. Lagos leads others follow..

You call this development? Go to Singapore. You will see development. They even got their independence after we did. They don't even have crude oil.
We just love to applaud mediocrity in this country.
Re: Lagos: This Doesn't Look Like The Africa People Expect! by Ghaliz:
It looks exactly like a third world downtown, terrible infrastructure, very congested, minimal rail connection , flooding, sprawling and extremely overpriced. Banana Island for the price should not feasibly exist but for the sheer volume of dirty money circulating in this country of particular concern.

Go to North Africa even East Africa and see how planned cities look like. They are third world too

Lagos has only 15 buildings 100meters and above with the tallest being only 160M so there's really no skyline to speak of
Re: Lagos: This Doesn't Look Like The Africa People Expect! by Pootle: 6:36pm On May 08
in the near future there will be a city pass to enter or exit the city

Use your brain.

Is it the landlord's job to develop the city?

Why should he underprice his house because he is in a developing country?

Is there a different price for building materials for nice houses than exists in America?

And do stop lying about property prices. THEY ARE INFINITELY LOWER IN NIGERIA THAN AMERICA.

Despite Nigerian houses getting built with concrete and cement, and American houses of cheap wood.

Get a property there first before you come here to tell us what you don’t know. How do you know there’s no central water and waste system those places you mentioned?

You are just like people who can afford the price of iPhone and go out to say nothing iPhone de do wey tecno no fit do…

Not just Lagos...!

Real estate and Kidnapping are serious money laundering avenues in this country.

Even abroad... Have you not seen or heard of dirty and useless paintings that are priced and sold for 20 Million Dollars?!!

Money laundering (cleaning and legitimizing stolen funds) is as old as man. cool

So, those houses are overvalued in order to clean up dough.

Even in night clubs... You will see brandy of 6k being sold for 250k.

The game is what it is.

Once again, these people have started hyping mediocrity.

You can only deceive illiterate and less traveled people with these lies.

Overrated slum where Nigeria concentrated pumping into oil boom era revenues under from Gowon to Babangida because they lived there in dodan barracks instead of spreading it out to the rest of the country

Only showing the nice areas, what about the slums? Even the highly-rateds areas on the island are full of area boys and aboki's fetch unsalted water to them

The rich also cry.
