Beeron:
I don't know your age but the fact that you are willing to wait 20 years.
Here is how you would go about it:

Spread 2 million each in five large cap stocks that pays dividends (bank stocks; GTCO, Zenitn, UBA, Stanbic, Dangote Cement or MTN. That will amount to 10 Million.

Then, Invest about 2 million into Cardinal stone Equity mutual funds.

You will be left with 8 Million. Throw that into Stanbic MMF.

Then go sleep and pray NIGERIA does not disintegrate before 20 years time because as long as Nigeria won't disintegrate; After 20 years and with this strategy, you will be financially secured for life because your investment would have over compounded such that, you can ball alone from stocks dividend pay out. Not to even mention capital gain appreciation.

Billionaires that leave the buck of their wealth in stocks does that for a reason and you will find it out in 20 years time.

depends on a lot of factors if you want to be actively investing in all I have suggested and rotating funds between investments. But if it is only large cap stocks. I can assure you, you will grow that money exponentially to 70 to 100 million or more in 20 years without touching it because aside capital appreciation, you will also reinvest dividend into it. That way, it will grow exponentially.

Research has it that — most investment portfolio that do well are dead people portfolio, why? Because no one touches the money for a long time.

Stanbic Asset managers keep upgrading their apps every week, while interest rate remains stagnant and one of the lowest in the industry for almost 6 months now... Wahala.

Buying good quality stocks isn't 50-50. Though this isn't stock section, but you can do market research on good quality stocks like the examples I gave, you will surely gain in the long run, another example is Buacement, buafood.

If your risk tolerance is low, put all the money in a money market fund, read about equity/stocks investment on the stocks thread and other books or sources, once you understand a bit of how stocks work, open a stock/cscs account and move part of your funds from MMF and get fundamentally sound and dividend-paying stocks, you will be sure of capital gain and cash flow from dividends.

When we say these things are possible, alot of folks keep making excuses for stanbic here. Myinvestar mmf has been doing this for long, subscription is instant. It is good stanbic is improving & I hope other fund managers follow suit.

Yes, Stanbic IBTC has a stockbroking arm. However, I would recommend the firm I personally use for practical reasons. This will also allow me to guide you closely through the process.

As a beginner, having the right support is very important, but with time, you’ll become confident navigating things on your own.

Click the third link in my signature so that you can open your CSCS/stock account with Investment One.
