NFF Secretary General, Dr Muhammed Sanusi has hailed Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle and admitted if the Malian was in charge earlier in the WCQ, Nigeria would have made it to US-Canada&Mexico.

“If the type of results we had from the team under Eric Chelle, towards the end of the WCQ campaign, were the results we had throughout the 10 games, had he taken charge from the beginning, I think Nigeria would have qualified with games to spare,” he said

According to Osasu Obayiuwana.

We have said it before but now,

....Ange Yoan Bonny switch to CIV is official.

That Ivorian NT attack just got the final piece added - A Bonafide CF.

Bonny flanked by Yan Diomande, Amad Diallo, Bazoumana Toure and co. Omo. CIV should be exciting to watch at the WC but not sure how fast they gel. In all, the quality just got uplifted. Brilliant acquisition.

I see ivory coast doing well in this year world cup in June next month

Samuel Chukwueze is a frustrating player, but he is very talented. I really understand why so many Super Eagles fans have grown tired and frustrated about his hot and cold performances for Nigeria. I am certainly one of those fans that have been on a lookout for a prospect for that right-winger position for Nigeria but having watched Azeez for two matches in a row now, I am not seeing that quality. Football is not rocket science. When you see a quality player, it will flash. A couple of years ago when I was watching the Nigeria U20 team, it took me about 20 mins to completely identify Benjamin Frederick. After watching him for 90 minutes, I turned around and told my friend that this boy will be marshalling the Super Eagles' defense in two to three years. I am just not sold on this Azeez dude. I have absolutely no problem with the young man as a person, but from what I have seen, he is not better than the options we currently have.

Good
The move to Pisa wasn't well thought out in the first place
Good to know some clubs might still be interested in him

Chuckwueze better than Saka,Chuckwueze better than Noni Madueke but fact he is not better. It was here some said do we really need Michael Olise cuz we have Chuckwueze....A player nominated for championship player of the year and you are not sold on him.

Pls what options do we have?
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by EElopa: 5:52am On May 09
Chuwueze on his day is a game changer and should always be on the team until better alternatives emerge. Alex Iwobi can play on the right wing. Nathan Tella is a better player than Azeez. He can also play on the right wing. Dele Bashiru can also play there. Chidera Ejuke is a street baller, and if the Super Eagles are serious about improving, he should be nowhere near the Super Eagles. Nothing personal against Chidera, but he just kills off play with his unnecessary dribbling that leads to nothing. I watched the young kid Zadok Yohanna. He has technicality, comfort on the ball, and close control in tight corners. If the kid remains focused, ignores the hype, and carefully selects clubs that will foster his growth and development, we could potentially have a world-class player in our midst. His ceiling is very high. I personally believe that if everything goes according to plan, the names mentioned above are merely temporarily occupying that position for the kid in the next couple of years.

Impressive lad. See tactical analysis. Lots of experience too. I like that he's not a dinosaur and will be able to input modern tactics in the U-17.

Zadok Yohanna should forget about going to the top 5 leagues in the world in the next 2 to 3 years. Go to a top team in Belgium, Austria, or Holland that will grant you the opportunity to play in European club competitions like the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, or Europa Conference League. I would recommend teams like Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord, Club Brugge, Anderlecht, and RB Salzburg. Stay there for at least 2 seasons and then make a move to the top 6 teams in the top 3 leagues in the world, being ready and mature enough to handle the requirements. Be patient and don't be in a rush.

“It is a shame for us, as a federation, and a country, that we have no pitch of the needed standard, in Abuja, for the Super Eagles & national teams to train and play on… Uyo is the only stadium we have for matches. And it is because of the maintenance contract given to JBNigeria, that it is in good order… I had to fight hard to get the current governor of Akwa Ibom State to renew that maintenance contract. He came very close to cancelling it, because he felt it was too expensive. I had to tell him that it would not be a good legacy to discontinue the good work of his predecessors. I am happy he listened to my advice.” -
Ibrahim Musa Gusau, the NFF President, talking to Osasu on Wednesday.

Chidozie Awaziem and Nantes got relegated last night after a 1-0 loss away at RC Lens.

A 16y/o Algerian-Portuguese debutant, Mezian Mesloub Soares came in off the bench and scored seconds later to sink Nantes and confirm Lens' UCL automatic qualification.

Sad for Awaziem as he personally had a solid season.

A player that created 18 big chances in a single season is a real deal.
If he maintains the same consistency when he steps into the EPL, then he is undisputedly more productive than all our wingers.

There are lots of things he does well, but his shortcomings can be worked on.
