Nigeria’s National Security Advisor, Nuhu Ribadu Meets JD Vance And Marco Rubio

This week, Nigeria’s National Security Advisor, Nuhu Ribadu (@NuhuRibadu), met with Vice President J.D. Vance (@JDVance) and Secretary of State Marco Rubio (@SecRubio), reinforcing a decisive U.S.-Nigeria partnership to confront terrorism in West Africa.

.@officialABAT is grateful for @realDonaldTrump’s partnership and continued U.S. training and intelligence support as Nigerian forces intensify operations to dismantle terrorist networks, protect Nigerian Christians, and defend all vulnerable communities.

Africa’s largest democracy isn’t wavering. Nigeria stands as a frontline U.S. partner against ISIS, Boko Haram, and rising terror threats across the Sahel.

The last 3-4 weeks have been hell for terrorists and bandits all over the country. NAF has been bombarding them from the air while NA have been finishing them off through ground operation. The collaboration with the US has really been helpful especially in accurate intelligence support. The two countries should keep working together to sustain the momentum.

Insecurity in Nigeria is complex. Governors of the North are even confessing today their efforts to fight insecurity is being compromised by their own people's aiding terrorists in many ways and being their informants.

This is the considerable ideological component to Nigeria's terrorism problem.

This is the hardest challenge, linked with insecurity, even military might cannot dominate.

When a people key into the concept of living according to Islamic laws, as their clerics and religious leaders present it, they are indoctrinated towards siding with terrorists and extremist to then see the authority (Government, Military, Air force etal) as enemies they must fight and defeat

Those who do not carry guns then commit to serving the 'cause' in different capacity. Whether by being informants or supplying food to terrorist in their enclaves. Etc, etc.

Islamic nations of the world have grappled with this complicated component of terrorism for decades with no success.

You tell us how easy such is for Ribadu, one man, to defeat.

What you people will never accept, because of ethno-religious chauvinism, is that many realities of Nigeria make it difficult to battle the root causes of our major problem.

Terrorism in Nigeria is linked to fundamentalist Islam many leaders in the North, covertly and overtly, support.

Ribadu would be a good fit for the Job. A good alternative would be someone like Dogara.

The next President from the North should be a moderate and brave reformer who can take local discomfort and attack to challenge the North to ditch traditional indoctrination and values to reform and become an asset to itself and Nigeria.
