If they divorce, he cannot remove her from his sponsorship unless she secures a new sponsor. If he removes her, the new UK immigration law which most of you dont know yet is that both of them have to leave UK.


Because of this new law, a lot of Nigerian ladies who brought their husbands to UK on their visa sponsorship that went to remove their husbands from their sponsorship so that they will be asked to leave UK have been rushing back to withdraw their application to remove their husband from their sponsorship knowing fully well that with the new UK immigration law, they too must leave the UK

The previous law stipulates that the person that sponsored his or her spouse before their relationship went south must notify the UK Home office that their marriage is over, and UK Home office will shorten the dependent's visa duration and also notify the dependent to leave the UK within the stipulated time or switch to a different visa like work, human right visa but not to become dependent on another UK resident or citizen while still in the UK.
