I'd be rejoicing if I was her, I hate those things... I can't wait to finish having children and do a tubal ligation.
Be careful what you wish yourself.
You might be joking with it, because you have children, but what if what you wish befall your female kids in futurehuh

You see your life? You can easily mislead a fuuuulish girl.

You shouldn't have had children in the first place, you should have done the tubal ligation when you were a teenager.

Rejoicing with a 17 year old who doesn't have a proper Menstrual Cycle?!! And you are a woman already having kids!

How is a young lady without a complete cycle ever going to be able to have kids?!!

I would understand if this comment came from a guy... I would simply excuse his ignorance.

Statistics have proven that women die more from child births than natural causes. So the girl should consider herself lucky because she won't have to worry about going through the risks of pregnancy and child birth.

Nonetheless, her parents should get a second opinion because Nigerian doctors are usually too hasty to give a medical diagnosis which mostly turns out wrong.
Easy to talk. If you're a man and being informed that you're impotent from birth. How would you feel. Happy I guess.

Just hearing of MRKH and I can imagine the emotional trauma it will be for the mother as well as her curious daughter. Please tell her the heavy truth don't hide anything because sooner or later her curiosity will definitely make her look for solutions. It's no ones fault, in all we should always have reasons to be thankful atleast for the gift of life. My prayers are with you, be strong and don't forget miracles still works.

Sensiblerealist:
As long as she can produce eggs, IVF surrogacy will take care of it. The down part is the awkwardness around her when are friends start noticing she doesn't have her monthly menstrual cycle
Haba! Why will her friends notice she isn't having her monthly cycle?

As long as she doesn't tell them, no one would know

A lot of today's Nairalanders and general social media users seriously make very unintelligent comments...!

If comments made on social media are a measure of average reasoning capacity across generations, then mankind might be in serious general mental decline.

...Cos the kinds of comments I read on this forum daily ehn.

My 17 years old daughter has never seen her period. I was not too worried at 16 I told her our body is different so no need to worry, but she started getting anxious since all her friends already started mensturating. She is currently in 100 level.

I took her to LASUTH, and after several tests, the doctor said she has MRKH that she was born without a womb (uterus).
I didn't show her the results that day, but l have been terrified since she keeps asking for the full results, and I keep lying that the doctor is still reviewing it.

How do I tell a 17 years old that she will never men.stru@ting or carry a pregnancy? She talks about future husbands and children. My heart breaks every time.
Please, parents, how do I have this conversation without scaring her for life?
Do abdominal ultrasound.
Could be testicles she has up there. Not ovaries

That's pathetic but she needs to know preferably by a female medical doctor who can break it down for her in an empathetic way,she should still consider herself lucky because it's type 1 which only affects womb and vaginal development type 2 usually involves kidney, spleen or heart,in her case a surgery to widen her vaginal can be done for sexual intercourse, her ovaries can still function which means she can consider surrogacy for childbirth, I wish her the best.

Why bother are you God to decide wether she will give birth or not
Mary gave birth without a male partner
Just tell her she's fine and leave her be
Don't torment her life with depression by finding out

The first paragraph of your comment is absurd, but I concur with the second paragraph.

She can have children and husband but that will be based on pure love. Teach her good values, let her digest them deeply. She can see a man who will marry while they have their children through surrogacy.
