Hi guys . So I travelled to imo from Anambra about a month ago and when coming back I encountered an issue. The issue was that the bus we were on suddenly stopped 80 % way through the journey and said he doesn't have enough fuel and his tired. We passengers on the bus was like how come , then what do we do , what happens to the money we paid. Out of frustration most people left and me and the stubborn ones that remained started to drag the driver (not physically). Until he then stopped another bus and paid for our remaining trip to the destination. The same issue happened on a keke I was on 2 weeks ago . I am a calm person but this shit is getting on my nerves and makes me angry, mind u am not someone that uses public transport much and yet it happens this much. Do you guys experience this issue or is it just my area

Nigerians are funny people. I have experienced it twice, the first one the vehicle developed a fault on the road and I wasn't angry because it could happen to anybody but the second one was annoying ---- It was a waybill I sent to Port Harcourt. The driver told me he would deliver the package to my brother, but later handed it over to another driver. The annoying thing was that he didn’t even call to inform me or send me the new driver’s number. My brother called to ask where he was and he told him to relax, that someone would call him when they got to Choba. I was very angry when my brother gave me the update, so I called him. He kept pleading with me not to be angry, saying that’s how they operate sometimes and that the most important thing was that my brother would receive the package......I don't like crafty people, he should have told me he would do handover. |

At least thank God you reached your destination. You think transporting people from one place to another is easy. |

I pray you get your personal car. Car is a necessity! When I see people saying car is a liability or expensive to have & maintain one; i do ask myself, does comfort comes cheap? NEVER! Some people have the funds to get a car but they prefer taxis/e-hailing services. |

Before i enter I'm asking will you reach so and so, if you said yes and i entered and you dropped me half way, I'm getting my money back from you that will will take me through the rest of the journey. I don't accept people putting me on another vehicle, I'm not a load. |

That usually happens in southwest and anytime that happens transporters tend to use that opportunity to evade been tracked from the park, the second vehicle they are releasing the passenger to from history I've been known to convey passengers to ritualist then this will encourage them |

It's a terrible experience, especially with interstate buses. Corruption and impunity everywhere. For security reasons, don't ever spend more than 20 minutes stranded on the highway, just moooove! You don't know which transporter, locals, security agents etc, will be the fastest finger to arrange your kidnap. Things dey sup for ungoverned spaces oh. Don't snooze |

Happened to me last upper week at Ikeja. These guys get poor planning. Country bad sha, it's so bad Keke riders partition the fuel in 1 liter bottles. |

Omo Back in 2022, I had an event to anchor in Cross River State, Calabar and after the event I refused to use flight and boarded a vehicle to Abuja for another event. The vehicle in Calabar stopped us along Ogija road claiming his car sudden stopped. An empty vehicle arrived and we entered and he paid everything.... That second vehicle took us to Benue and dropped us off. That one also paid for us and we were transported again to Abuja, I got to Abuja the next day and slept in a hotel before deciding to take a flight. |

ironheart:it happen everywhere vehicle can breakdown at any point in time i was in a danfo around January at around 9pm coming from island. our danfo broke down just at the centre of 3rd mainland bridge ![]() it was scary because you will never see an empty or free bus coming at that place at that time. we needed to start waving and begging private car owners passing and we manage to see those that stopped and decided to help. there was even a time i went to this beach that is only accessible by water (meaning u have to use boat to cross to it), on one occasion, we were returning back, the boat stopped at the middle of the ocean ![]() e be like film. we were already praying our last prayers because the water was already waving before we saw an empty boat that we begged and he tolled us to a free land before another boat came to pick us up that night. so it can happen anywhere my brother. just pray it wont happen in a place where u cant get help immediately |

udumosam23:Good way to handle . Although That is why most times, the real driver is hiding somewhere closely, until all financials and loading is done. He will pop out and ready to zoom off. |
| Re: The Trend Of Transportation Handover by kalvoken(m): 11:08am On May 11 |
Let's keep voting rubbish elements into power, the effect is unimaginable. The driver probably discovered his expenses has surpassed what you guys paid him. And am very sure, you yourself had to take the roadside buses just to beat price. |

This has happened to me several times when I was in Nigeria. 6 years ago I was travelling to Warri, our bus from Ajah, stopped at Benin and handed us over to another at Akpakpava side. Happened on several occasions between 2016-2020. So it's not new. |
