kalvoken:This is very wrong. It's greed on the part of the drivers. Like I always say, the leadership is a reflection of its people. |

[quote author=DeltaBachelor post=139374976]For the long distance inter-state journey, I can understand the fact that the driver is tired. But you see those short ones from keke and the likes, na greed cause am, either from shortage of fuel, trying to evade Agbero or police or just plain wickedness to put the remaining money in their pocket while passengers “ find their way ‘ by themselves. |

AwokenVawulence:When you pay for a transport fare to a destination you did not buy the car. Your only concern should be to get to the agreed place. If the driver trans loads, provided you did not pay additional fee you have not been cheated. |

Bahamas95:I experienced same just last weekend... I sent a waybill to Orlu trough a GUO driver, paid him 15k that he requested, then forwarded his number to the receiver (an elderly man of 80 years) my brother this driver refused picking anybody's call till the following day... We used different numbers, we even called the fellow driver that linked us together, he didn't pick anyone's call... It was later that we discovered he wasn't going to Orlu, he stopped at Onitsha, and was pricing other drivers 2k to deliver the item to Orlu, and they refuse.... It was after 2 days that the man finally got the items, and within that period and even after the period the driver did not pick any of our calls. |

It pose a security and safety threat, it should be discourage , because usually before joining any public transport you must have scanned and screened and certified with your instinct before making that very choice, so sudden decision by your perceived safe one to abruptly transfer you into just any emergency alternative will certainly leave anyone at limbo |

Galactics:It transporting people from one place to another is not easy, who forced them into the business? Why can’t they just pack up and venture into an easy business? This is the same issue Allen Onyeama and his Air Peace is currently being dragged for. I am not surprised they are all from the same place. |

ironheart:I never said you are. I'm from the South west so I'm just stating that it's not limited to the south east. |
| Re: The Trend Of Transportation Handover by Dalohad: 1:41pm On May 11 |
OredoPikin:Along PH to Owerri, it is a common practice to hand over passengers midway to cut cost. They usually do it at Omerelu or Elele enroute Owerri. Owerri to Onitsha drivers also do it sometimes, they hand over the passengers at Ihiala or Uli center. It is not about broken vehicle or lack of fuel, They do it consistently.. |

ironheart:Exactly, I think it's a south east issue because when I was in Lagos it never occurred |
| Re: The Trend Of Transportation Handover by Beautifulday: 2:20pm On May 11 |
ironheart:You see the assumptions I always talk about? How many places have you been to? From common Egbeda to iyana ipaja in Lagos, drivers will drop you on the way and change vehicle for you. To you, it is only a south east think. |
| Re: The Trend Of Transportation Handover by AwokenVawulence(op): 2:21pm On May 11 |
Galactics:Yes we thank God oh , I reached my place around 7pm the day it occurred |
| Re: The Trend Of Transportation Handover by AwokenVawulence(op): 2:32pm On May 11 |

| Re: The Trend Of Transportation Handover by Bahamas95(m): 3:19pm On May 11 |
Precious201010:One thing wicked people like him don’t know is that the world is a global village. In his mind, he thought you would never meet him again anywhere. Few years ago when I was in Lagos, I met a Delta guy. I was discussing with the guys I came with and he noticed my Warri pidgin. He walked up to me and asked if I was from Delta State. I told him yes, and he said we were from the same state. I was happy to meet him and we all drank together. We later parted ways without exchanging contacts. I’m not used to making friends quickly, so I didn’t make the move to collect his contact. About a week later, I travelled to Warri and my ex-classmate invited me to a baby dedication in her church. We hadn’t seen each other in a long time, so she really wanted me to attend the service because she knows I don’t fancy going to church. During the dedication, I saw someone wearing white agbada and dancing seriously at the altar. I was like, “Which kain person be this na?” 😂 When I looked closely at his face, I realised it was the same guy I met in Lagos. I was shocked. After the service, I walked up to greet him and he was also shocked and happy to see me. His wife was wondering where we knew each other from, and he told her we met in Lagos. I won’t forget what the guy said that day. He said, “This world big, but e small.” What kept running through my mind that day was: what if I had offended this guy, or vice versa, and we had scores to settle? There would have been serious problem in Warri. 😂.... Our fight dat day for scatter area. |
| Re: The Trend Of Transportation Handover by Precious201010(m): 3:23pm On May 11 |
Bahamas95:Exactly... Even if something went wrong, why not pick calls and explain to the person, .. if we wanted to wicked him it was just to go back to the park and report to the management... It's against their rules for drivers to receive waybills, but we needed the medication delivered to the man within 24 hours... I learnt a bitter lesson, next time I won't have any business with any driver.. |

This same thing happened to me when I traveled to Kwara State. I boarded a bus at Igbogene Terminal in Yenagoa who promised to take me directly to Ilorin, but when we got to Akure, they transferred me into an old, overcrowded bus packed like sardines and claimed it would take me straight to Ilorin. Later, on getting to Osogbo, I was transferred again into another vehicle. That driver eventually stopped at Offa, handed me some money, and told me to find another vehicle heading to Ilorin on my own, even though it was already night. In the end, I didn’t arrive in Ilorin until about 1 a.m. |
