"Nigeria, Did I Offend You?" - Man Asks 4 Years After NYSC Without A Job by Pinnup(op): 3:27pm On May 09

A man posted his NYSC discharged certificate online and asked Nigeria if he offended her that for more than 4 years post NYSC without a job., drawing people's attention and reactions to the post with many lamenting of being in the same situation.

Some even described him as a fresher with only 4 years when they themselves have not gotten a job 10-15 years post NYSC.

And I am among the people the unemployment is so affecting in the country. In my case, 5 years now since I finished school, no job. I have been running from pillar to post trying to survival with nothing to show as of today. Right now, I am completely unemployed with nothing to survive on because I lost the little contract job I was doing late last year due to downsizing. Even to eat now, is a big problem. Soap, cream, tooth paste all the very common basics things in life, absolutely everything I can't afford any right now. This is where unemployment put you and you begin to ask the same question the poster ask, "Nigeria, did I offend you?".

Well, I am very grateful to God Almighty and to my alma mater (FUTA). FUTA mandatory an entrepreneurship course for all it's 300 level students (THEORY in first semester and PRACTICAL in 2nd semester).. every student would decide which handwork they want to learn for free... I chose livestocks and their feeds formulation cos I was in agric Dept and I had decided never to look job after graduation... When it was time for IT, I chose livestock farms and gained more experience... I already had 3 rented ponds before I graduated... Me wey no get back up grin

... To cut the story short, I am a certified fish farmer now, feeding my family of 4 with the help of God... One thing for sure is, The choice of school is also one of the factors determining your success after graduation... I still have some of my mates who by now are self employed all from the practical opportunity we had in school then... My advice for you is to find a reasonable handwork and learn... It may take time oo but u will love it... I am not blaming you but I wished you started learning something for the past 4 years you were done with ur service

In every job position you apply for, 1000 other people are applying for the same job and there is likelihood that only those who knows who among them will be picked. Therefore it is not a curse or a wonder if one applies for job 1000 times in Nigeria and got rejected in all.

Thanks goodness for teaching jobs. It's everywhere and if you know how to play the game, you can even earn up to 7 figures in it. I've been there, I'm there, I've done that.

How smart is it, to pay governments (local, state and federal) tax in different ways and allow the government to collect taxes from companies on our behalf, just to steal money instead of employing workers to make services and utilities available for all? How smart is that huh

500 gallons of water go for N20k. Multiply by 4 in a month, that's N80k. By extrapolation, that's N960k in a year on water alone. Why? Because the governor believes that clean and accessible water is the least of his worries. Yet they prance around like Enugu is Abuja even though the red muddy soil will have residents looking like they went tomb-raiding at night.

The Permanent Secretary, Office of Drainage Services and Water Resources in Lagos State, Mahmood Adegbite, has said that people drilling borehole in the Lekki axis of the state is probably drinking ‘’shit water.”

I tink no getting a job years after school is everywhere around d world.D difference in naija situation is our minimum wage is way too small making lower jobs like bar tending,security wit security company n secretary irrelavant n unattractive. Abroad u see graduates doing waiter job n being able to rent a house n feed.everyone frm uni seems to want white collar job becos our minimum wage is terrible n most menial jobs dont even pay up to d terrible minimum wage
