I thought you would need your graduate certificate to gain admission into post graduate of many,if not all institutions.


So in your case, what qualifications will you present to the school, to gain admission into their post graduate program since you stated it's your first degree?

Even if it is possible, as an employer I will query both certificates if you present it for recruitment. I would think you bought one of them or both.

I knew a guy running two Bsc programs, different schools though,NOUN and UI. I was just wondering the stress.

As for the OP, yes many schools in Nigeria will allow that for especially PART-TIME..You already had a bsc and you are pursuing your masters on the previous BSC not the current one that makes an undergrad.. But make sure the schedules do not overlap

One of the requirement is B.sc over 2.2 / 2.1 and above CGPA (depending on the school.

Without a B.sc Cert, it wont fly except magu magu dey inside.

Well, I don’t think it is possible. However, in Nigeria, anything goes, so I won’t be surprised. The major issue here is clashes of exam dates, lecture period etc. The person doing that if possible will only be “ Penny wise and Pound foolish “

I bet to disagree on both your assertions...I went back to the same institution where i had previously graduated for my Masters and i was issued a different matric number...May be what you said happens in your own school not mine...

However, my town bro was studying Anatomy and microbiology concurrently at a fed university in Nigeria and nothing of such happened...It was even a dean that advised him to do it if he thought he had the capacity...That is by the way in the year 2004...as of today, the standard may have changed in THE SAME UNIVERSITY BUT SOME schools still do it part time and more

UI and UNILAG maintain the same matric no for their graduates that go back there for their PG. I believe some other schools are like that too.

i dont think so... when the matric is handled by the pgd school... Even a quick search online corroborated my stand

this is a big lie. MSc and BSC do not have thesame matric number and in some schools self the Msc portal is run differently from the undergraduate portal

yes, people do it. It's not a crime. It's allowed.

The answer is it is possible. I know somebody that did both BSC and MSC at thesame time and in daame school. However, he graduated from Abu Zaria . Took jamb again and applied for both Bsc and Msc

I had colleagues who did it back then but 'codedly'. If caught, you likely loss both for flouting the school's regulation.

I recently read about a certain Dr OLAOLUWA, Hallowed Oluwadara who ran two Bachelor's degrees (B.Sc Mathematics and B.Sc Physics) in the same university and graduated in the same year.
He also did two Master's degrees concurrently and graduated.
I think the university is in CAR.

It is an offence to be registered full time in more than one institution. You can either loose one or loose both admissions if the institution finds out.

Hmmm! It seems your reference is to some 20yrs ago thing. But Sir standard Practices Now is that you maintain your First Matric No. Continuously for any other Program as this will aid in tracing your Academic Journey within the institution.

This is also why Transcripts are not requested when you graduate from same institution.

A friend ran Msc in biochemistry area while studying medicine in unilorin. He studied biochemistry at bsc level In udu, sokoto

In foreign schools i mean first world. People graduate with 3 degrees at a time but in Nigerian public schools its not permitted

It is not allowed. But you can do the courses concurrently in different schools

In university of ibadan, you maintain only one matric number the moment you step foot into that school. Even if you graduated in 1970 and come back for MSc or PHd, your matric number will remain the same
