I recently bought the airtel smart tv router and subscribed for Airtel 30k Unlimited plan using Opay,
But instead all I received was 100GB, Talked with customer care but they said my router is not compatible with the unlimited Plan which I was confused about, I had checked the airtel site and clearly saw unlimted plan under the smart TV router,
Wondering if anyone has a similar experience and what I should do

There's nothing Like Unlimited plan In Nigeria, it's a scam... Of you're not careful that data will finish in 2 weeks..

I’m currently using the airtel smart tv router, I had to subscribe for the 30 thousand unlimited plan after and it working perfectly. When I bought the router it came with a free two weeks unlimited package

No sweat, its not unlimited, they stopped it long time ago.

If you want something unlimited buy Airtel ODU, you can still connect it to your smart tv

This is a typical Nigerian telecom experience. They advertise unlimited but hide the fine print. Always screenshot everything before subscribing and rate them on review platforms so others know what to expect.

I disagree with you bro, maybe you made a mistake, been using this Unlimited plan for 30k for months now, what I am seeing is 100gb and not Unlimited GB like you can see my screenshot

This error lies entirely with them due to their nonchalant presentation of information. In many other places, a company would face serious consequences for such a blatant misrepresentation of service.
​Back to the reality of the situation: they recently removed the unlimited data bonus from their 4G routers, which is the category your Smart TV falls into. Because of this change, attempting to subscribe to an unlimited plan on any new line paired with a 4G router results in this error. A reasonable company would have harmonized these changes across all payment platforms to prevent customers from falling into this trap. Currently, the only way to be certain about compatibility is to use the Airtel App or their broadband recharge website, where you can input your number to see the specific plans available for your device.

If you choose to continue using their services, stick to their official app or website to verify plan compatibility. As it stands, the unlimited data bonus is now exclusively paired with their 5G routers but the data SIM will still work normally if inserted in their 4G routers.

Well, the only mistake they made was believing they would actually get what they paid for🤷🏾‍♂️. As the transaction receipt shows, they paid for and expected to receive the unlimited 20Mbps monthly plan. However, due to the incompatibility between the subscription and the line, Airtel decided to drop the 'next best thing' on them instead of simply reversing the transaction or clearly specifying the limitations on their website.

Thank u. They did give me the 160GB, but I’m still taking this further. I’ve already reported them to the FCCPC for false advertising. Before I bought the router, I asked if they offered unlimited browsing plans, and they said yes. It is still listed under their router plans on their official website. They can’t keep deceiving people.

Old customers on the airtel smart TV still use unlimited data they say it’s the old sims that came with. But the new ones it’s 160GB please report them further this is very fraudulent.
