Fuckyoumod:..even stranger is the concept of heavily funding the 36 state governors to be doing economically empty mega projects. The chunk of the money is going in four major directions. - Huge staff salary to a largely unproductive workforce. - Useless projects. - Governor allocations - Debt repayment. A significant fifth is intervention towards agric and religion that are getting diverted. |

Imagine having a father whom nobody trusts; A man whose antecedent is cloudy and shrouded in secrecy, crime and forgery. Even his political journey has been that of scheming and scamming, he became President by entitlement and then fraudulently convert governors to his party just to save its second term in office, A man who despise the truth and everything related to it, who feel threating everytime Nigerians are shouting to lets breath of the the shackle of economic jeopardy he brought upon them, and show no empathy to their cry, whose methodology of getting things done is to bribe his way into everything. What are you expecting from a man like that, what values do you expect him to bring to society which 79% of his people are poor and more than 67% are illiterate and 82% lacks morality. With Tinubu political trust has been completely broken and only God could help Nigeria ever trust their politicians again. 2027 present another opportunity to demand electoral accountability, Only you can safe you, let your vote either purnish or reward your leaders, Do not vote for #10,000.00 and Rice, Vote Right!!! |

ElSudani:Oga calm down, don't responde out of context. Even a child knows tinubu has only been president for 3 years. Obj was just trying to recount how regressive governance has been since he left. Just trying to make the point that tinubu too is a failure. By the way, no one is saying tinubu did not inherit a bad economy. Yes, he did. But is he repairing it or making it worse? That's the critical question. We will not say because he inherited a bad economy, we should then be praising him for making it worse. Tinubu is a big fraud of a president. He's camouflaging to be making policies to reposition the economy, but its a lie. He is only sweeping the masses to feed the few. Their classic feudal system template. Disprove my argument, tell me where all the savings from subsidy have gone too. You will say they gone to state govt. Is it not stealing in itself when you had money to know thieves that cannot be checked. What has happened to yahaya bello. Again, all the ridiculous loans tinubu has taken, what have they done with those loans that is tangible? Nothing is being done for the good of the country and you're here defending them. |

DrTee1:For asking you to use your own words, not AI , so that we can have a coherent discussion? If this is the way you talk to people, you have a long way to go. I don't know how long you've been here, but I have been here a long, long time. And so? In my life, one lesson I have learned is that time meaneth nothing. Often to my discomfort. I can quite write fine and proper - which you put up to Machines - and can also play the regular street.Yes, so do it. It's more interesting to talk to YOU , rather than to a machine. Come to the subject matter, or let your own AI help you refine your thoughts if you can't engage any further.IN other words you have nothing to say, because you lack knowledge. E.O.D ![]() |

realG101:You and your type are the people talking nonsense. How long do you think it took countries like China, Singapore and South Korea to turn around their economies? Three years? You all need to calm down and stop looking at everything in terms of politics and what you can gain now. Building a prosperous country is not without serious heavy lifting which many of the so called politicians are not willing to do. They will rather pacify you with nonsense knowing you don't know any better. |

DeepSight:Why are you trying to pretend he doesn't? Do you know Tinubu is the first President to order the GEOMAPPING of Nigeria's mineral resources, which is a prerequisite for attracting world class investment in the mining sector? GEOMAPPING is a long, difficult, and expensive process of locating, identifying, measuring and quantifying the entire mineral resources of a country. The reason Nigeria is not a mining giant like South Africa today is due to lack of GEOMAPPING. No serious investor puts money into mining based on incomplete data. TINUBU is the first to do it. Is that reported anywhere in the news? Nope. Not sensationalist enough. Too positive. Too boring. Do you know that Tinubu is transforming the civil service to mirror his nationalist 'Buy Nigerian' policies? Over 1000 new Procurement Officers have been trained in 'Nigeria First' policies and will ensure that Procurement and contracting favour NIGERIAN suppliers over foreign suppliers. This will reduce capital flight and boost productivity in a big way in coming years. These are the sort of visionary policies Tinubu is executing. He is a technocrat and visionary who sees the big picture. They are very "boring" policies that don't trend on Tiktok, but they are the policies that determine whether this country will work or not. Elect any of these criminals insulting Tinubu, and they will just come back to their usual sharing of money and doing nothing. OBJ, why didn't he embark on GEOMAPPING? Does he not know we have minerals? By now we would have been earning trillions of Naira from our mineral wealth. |

.External Debt Reduction: Inherited roughly \(\$28\) billion–\(\$36\) billion in debt, mostly owed to the Paris Club. Through intense negotiations, this was reduced to about \(\$2.11\) billion by the end of his tenure.Paris Club Deal (2005): In October 2005, Nigeria reached a final agreement for a debt relief package worth \(\$18\) billion. Nigeria paid roughly \(\$12\) billion to clear the outstanding balance.Internal Debt Component: While external debt dropped significantly, internal debt did not see a substantial reduction, with some estimates suggesting a rise to around N\(2.17\) trillion during that period.Foreign Reserves: Upon leaving office in 2007, Obasanjo stated that his administration increased foreign reserves from \(\$3.7\) billion to \(\$45\) billion, along with an excess crude account of \(\$25\) billion.Context: The debt relief was seen as a major milestone, allowing Nigeria to exit its status as one of the world's most heavily indebted nations. No matter how you hate Obasanjo, one thing you can't deny is that he hated debt and he paid Nigeria's debt before he left office[/quote] |

Catapault:Obasanjo is not Jealous of Anyone. You need to understand he has always been someone who has always being full of ideas. He used to write letters to Ronald Reagan, Margareth Thatcher about American and British Foreign policy back in his day. Magareth Thatcher thanked him for his letter and said she would use one of his stategies. This guy used to write Mandela when Mandela was in prison and Mandela said Obasanjo and NIgeria were the only outsiders that stood by them in their darkest hour. Why does anyone think they forgave us our debt when Obasanjo became president ? What did Obasanjo gain by sending money to ANC when Mandela was in prison ? Obasanjo has his flaws like everyone else but you forget he sounded the alarm when Niger Delta was getting ready to fight for Jonathan to stay on. Obasanjo cannot change, a man who wrote letters to western Powers teaching leaders how to comport themselves and not use aggression as a strategy but dialogue. When men like Obasanjo and Ayo Adebanjo stood behind Obi I knew it was because they had seen something. Are they not the " brothers " of the president ? Did Emefiele not try the unthinkable ? People have seen things. Are prices not through the roof ? Is life not harder ? |

Catapault:I don't have time for the willfully blind or pretentious. You can write as much as you wish, the word "integrity" can never be used in the same sentence with BATs name. If you think so, one of the following must apply - 1. You were born last night or even this morning 2. You are being paid to write what you write 3. Idiocy. |

Nigeria deserves better political discourse than binary verdicts delivered in viral soundbites. It deserves retired leaders who examine their own records with the same rigour they apply to successors, and sitting governments that are held to account without partisan protection. Obasanjo's debt and spending concerns are grounded in real data. His "complete failure" verdict is not. His moral authority to deliver this verdict is compromised by his own documented record. And the Nigerians bearing the full weight of both administrations' decisions — the 140 million below the poverty line, the kidnap victims, the families buying food at prices that bear no relationship to any GDP statistic — deserve analysis that tells them the whole truth, not the convenient half of it. |

A government that inherited a fiscal position where 97 cents of every naira collected went to debt servicing, and reduced that to 68 cents in eighteen months, has not failed fiscally. A government that grew foreign reserves from $33 billion to $50 billion — a seven-year high — has not failed on external stability. A government that oversaw eleven consecutive months of disinflation from a 28-year peak has not failed on monetary direction. A government under which Nigeria became West Africa's largest exporter of refined petroleum products after decades as its largest importer has not failed structurally. A government that received sovereign credit upgrades from both Fitch and S&P has not failed to restore international credibility. These outcomes are primary-source verified. They are not government talking points. The World Bank, the IMF, and independent credit rating agencies — none of whom have any political interest in protecting Tinubu — all confirm this directional progress. Calling a government that produced these outcomes a failure requires either ignoring this evidence entirely or deciding that macroeconomic metrics are irrelevant to governance assessment. Neither position is analytically defensible. |
