TheSuperNerd:Above is just one of the several posts on Akpe Victory currently doing his thing in Hungary. Well, Transfer rumors say Benfica are showing interest..... Benfica has contacted the Hungarian club Zalaegerszeg about their 19-year-old Nigerian central defender, Akpe Victory, who has been a notable performer for the fifth-placed team in the Hungarian league. While Benfica has not yet made a formal offer, the club is interested in the player. Further action by Benfica will face competition, as it is reported that clubs from Germany, Spain, France, Scotland, and Switzerland are also observing the player. The potential signing of Akpe Victory is expected to be a relatively low investment of approximately five million euros, as Benfica considers signing one or two central defenders to be a priority depending on summer departures and opportunities. Victory joined the Hungarian club in January 2026, has a contract that runs until June 2028, and his current Transfermarkt market value is €100k. Source: Transferfeed

Technically, France has more than 5 MFs on that list. Akliouche, Olise and Cherki are considered AMs as well alongside being lads who operate as Creative wingers. Nomyth: |

Morocco just added a really fine young midfield talent balling for LOSC Lille in Ligue 1. Ayyoub Bouaddi.... 18y/o. It has been rumored for a while but it is confirmed now. He will be at the World Cup (Obviously they assured him of a world cup slot and key playing time in their ranks). Morocco's midfield just got stronger. https://x.com/i/status/2055012800359993462

TheSuperNerd:Hmm,This French attack. It's just them and Spain, Then the usual suspects,Argentina and Brazil. I'll always include Germany and Brazil among the favorites no matter how bad they look. Then Portugal and England to pull a surprise win by luck. France Spain Argentina Brazil Germany Portugal England Anything apart from these countries would be a major upset and probably a new champion, and I want a country like Holland to do it |

TheSuperNerd:In the 2000s,my good friend Seyi Olajegbensi a very good CB,moved from Julius Beger to frieburg in bundesliga just to tell you how good some lads in NPFL then, moving from local league to bundesliga,he made over 60 appearances 2004-2007 but Taminu had the opportunity but keep on failing with poor clubs. |

See how they will start begging this one to win him over. E F Males in this section will overwhelm him with long epistles and articles on how he is best combo with the Bandage Man ![]() You wonder why they cannot protest to their NFF to invest in their Sports ministry. They will hype this one and later forget about him in few years just like they used to hype: Aribo, Balogun, Ebuehi. NB: In your life, never engage with Eye service people.

Just when you think the NFF can finally get out of their own way, they pick up a shovel and keep digging. Nothing surprises me again, but I just sometimes wonder how they continuously make brain dead decisions like this.

At every World Cup aside Nigeria, mine has always been Brazil, Netherlands and Morocco (whenever they qualify). Morocco really vexed me at the last Afcon due to the whole "host must win" shenanigans but time has made me forgive a bit because fact is they do have a quality team (more reason why there is no need for all that outside help to influence their home results) plus their new coach, Mohamed Ouahbi is the guy who won the last U20 World Cup in disciplined ultra defensive yet exciting counterattacking fashion. So mine stays same. But funnily Brazil faces Morocco in the Group C Opener so it makes it quite a quagmire for me. I would also have my eyes on CIV, Senegal and DRC to see what they put out in USCAMEX 26. Not as personal favs but as an admirer of their upgraded quality with all the new recruitments they've been bagging. Ecuador from South America also earns my admiration especially for their stacked defensive talents but they are also offensively interesting. Anyway, leaving personal preferences and some admiration interests...... the admirations and envy of everyone are... ....The top 5 WC Favorites which are: France, Spain, Argentina, England and Portugal. France - Made the finals of the last 2 World Cups and boasts one of the most powerful quality NT lineups in world football. Spain - Reigning Euro Champs and almost an unstoppable force. Argentina - Reigning World Champs and Reigning Copa America Champs still in fine form with one of the G.O.A.Ts, Messi. England - Euro Runners up in last Euro losing narrowly to Spain. They also have one of the strongest National teams lineups in the world today. Portugal - Reigning Euro Nations League Champs and also the only team to stop Spain competitively in Spain's last 2 Competitive tournaments (Euros 2024 and Euro Nations League 2024-25). They also have one of the G.O.A.Ts, C.Ronaldo. If none of these 5 teams above lift the title, consider it a "Shocker" World Cup year. Top 5 Solid Outsiders: ✅️Brazil - The Selacao and record WC Winners are not at the level previous fearsome Brazillian sides used to be but they still got enough quality to hurt even the top 5 favs if they slip up or let their guards down for even a minute. In Ancelotti, Brazil has a mentality-monster coach who knows how to galvanise a team into winning so they will be dangerous Solid Outsiders. The more belief grows within that team, the more adventurous they get and that could be a problem for opponents. ✅️ Germany - Traditional powerhouse but not as strong as they used to be. Can still hurt you though when at their efficient best. ✅️Netherlands - 'Have the quality to upset and stun. They will entertain but may still fall short. If they dont fall, they will go all the way. ✅️Croatia - Croatia have made the final 4 in the last 2 world cups so they have a knack for competing with anyone no matter how strong. They are heart breakers for Opponents. ✅️Belgium - Experienced Dark Horse that can humble you if you take them for granted. Returnee Outsider: ⚫️Norway: 28 yrs WC Absence. Back for the 1st time for a 4th WC appearance since 1998. If Norway makes it out of the group that has France and Senegal, and the lottery of the round of 32 pairing favors them, they could be a problem. De ja Vu Outsider: 🔴Morocco: Their WC run in 2022 stunned the football world and they still have the core of that team that went all the way to the Semis and have added even more quality. The only blip is their change of coaches so the technical area would be lacking the experience at this level but in Ouahbi, they have a guy who executed Morocco's 2022 playing blueprint and even upgraded it to perfection when he coached the U20 side to FIFA U20 World Cup Glory in 2025. Morocco is expected to be tough nuts again. Truidstarr: |
