The reason why the Chinese government is pumping money is to kill capitalism. The west likes cheap goods, China makes them, heavily subsidized for the west to consume as their own factories close.

It's why poverty is high in China but you will never know this because of controlled propaganda. China will tell you their poverty rate =0% that's their own standard, but when compared to world standard, a huge chunk of the population is living under poverty.

It's how some people think it's everyone that are enjoying in places like Qatar and Dubai.

Tesla benefited from government loans, tax credits, EV subsidies, regulatory credits, and state incentives all that is true.

The difference is scale, structure, and purpose.
In the U.S., government support usually sits within a market system where companies can still fail, unions can criticize them, shareholders can punish them, courts can sue them, journalists can investigate them, and foreign competitors can still operate.

China’s system is different. The state can direct cheap credit, land, procurement, tax breaks, industrial policy, local-government support and protected domestic demand into selected industries until foreign competitors are weakened. That is not ordinary capitalism. That is state-directed mercantilism and it's a shame that the EU are too dumb to realize this.

BYD is not proof that everything is fine. As of 2025, they sat at 85billion dollars in debt.

You may want to find out why ,besides selling Zero (0) Mileage cars as second hand , they also sell carbon credits to their competitors.
EU has imposed aggressive emission standards , gas vehicle manufacturers simply buy catnom credits to offset hefty fines.
BYD sells them the Carbon credits . See how it works.
EU vehicle manufacturers are subsidizing BYD EVs to thanks to climate change nonsense.
Where does BYD get it's Carbon Credits from ? . It only sells EV and plug-in hybrids , when it enters a market and sells a single car it generates zero emission regulatory carbon credits

I don't claim to know the ultimate truth about that incident but there are many glaring flags about it that are terribly suspicious. The far future will hopefully unveil the truth.
