But we are only seeing taxes without development. And even more so, reckless borrowing without any tangible development. |

At least show sincerity and responsibility with our crude oil wealth and other resources. Start from there before talking about tax. Crude oil revenue you cannot account for. Borrowed loans you cannot account for. Other indirect taxes, you cannot account for. Is it direct taxing of already struggling Nigerians that you will account for? |

This guy is an idiot and he would get what is coming to him. Pay tax to your corrupt, illegitimate, and irresponsible self so that you will pack the money and give to Chagury in the name of meaningless contracts, to launder for you. I don't blame you. |

SeaTrade:You are doing your job oga. Your 30k allowee is sure for this month already? So like this we are not paying tax? Even people who are not working in this country are paying heavy indirect taxes, like bus fare hike because of agbero, high tariff rates of MTN and others because of taxes, high cost of food because of taxes, overcharging for services by banks because of high demands from the government. There is no tax greater than those. |

You guys are evil. You want citizens to sacrifice while people in government feed large on our collective resources and then come out with these insensitive statements. Cost of running governance in Nigeria is over the roof, and y'all loot without any atom of remorse. Very anyhow people |

People won't want to pay tax when politicians share money to citizens , inducing them to vote for them in camera, it shows public funds are being used by politicians how they want. We heard a court sentenced one of the political appointee criminal to 70 years for N800billion, how will the people want to pay tax, while politicians live lavish with it. Why are politicians living so lavishly, spending anyhow, like public funds is their property or personal money? |

No sensible and patriotic citizen should be against paying tax, but what they get in return for the huge taxation is my own concern. We pay lots of taxes abroad, but while you are groaning, you see working infrastructure, security, jobs and its security in place. |

geoworldedu:I'd ignore your first sentence as you don't know who you're talking to. There's no country without indirect taxes, they also pay council tax and bank levies in the West, even VAT on telecoms. Whether you pay indirect taxes doesn't exempt you from tax liabilities at the federal /national level. Stayed in a hotel in Milan a month ago and got charged some small fee for local area council levy bla bla bla... It's global. |
