AndSunGorilla:Don't get me wrong and put me in that group of tribalistic bigotry. The late Yemi Tella won U17 world cup with players dominated mostly by the same region, no one complained possibly because they were selected based on merit. If these players were selected on merit, I wish him good luck. More players are still being expected to come after anyways. I'm only more interested in U17,I will only give the U20 coach the benefit of doubt. Let the man just discover at least one talent for us,that's all I'm after. Whether I wrote them off or not does not matter. |

This list is actually a 33-man list.... I recently realised after counting. Anyway, been reading good reviews from multiple sources on a few of the lads listed. Alex Leme of Sporting lagos in attack. Victor Samuel of Sporting Lagos in attacking midfield. Jerem Peres of P Sports. Imrana Mohammed. Simon Cletus of HNK Rijeka is well known already on this thread. A bonafide midfield talent. Even Abubakar Rufai in the GK dept is not new. Sporting Lagos' Clinton Lawani also looks good after helping in their NNL triumph and promotion back to the NPFL. In all, time will tell. Predator87:This is a freshly new set of boys that you’ve thrown under the bus without even knowing if they’re talented or not. It seems you’ve forgotten that times have changed We no longer rule youth football when it comes to physicality and pace, other countries has bridged that gap. And we’re not top 10 when it comes to technicality either. We’re just making the best of what we got. Give the boys a chance nobody leaves home and say hey I’m going to lose in this tourney |

typicalgamer:We have not qualified for the U23 Olympics in 10 years, and our U17 has not qualified for an U17 world cup since 2019. Keep in mind we are the most successful African team in those competitions. I an done making excuses. The cause of our failures are the current NFF led by Ibrahim Gausau. Let's tell our self the truth please. |

Predator87:There’s no truth to tell, we’ve been on a losing streak for years now only the s eagles and the female teams that has kept standards From u23 to chan. Eagles to u17 has been poor a coach can only do so much the players themselves are bang average at best |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Predator87: 2:07pm On May 16 |
typicalgamer:I disagree. A coach can make all the difference. The likes of Zadick Yohana, Chidi Nwainu, Frank Onyeka, Christantus Uche, Fisayo Dele Bashiru, Raphael Onyedika etc did not pass thru our youth ranks yet see how well they are doing. How come our youth coaches did not find them before they made it big? Something is wrong somewhere.Selections to these youth teams are not based on merit. |

Predator87:Listen environment matters you might be an outstanding player but did not peak at the right time example is vitinha You scout over 1 million players just to pick 23 you’re surely gonna miss out on gems 💎 Because they’re not at the top of their game at the time you saw them, so put these things into consideration No coach wants to be sacked after just 1 tourney irrespective as they’re pay to play ballers there they’re still legit ballers there too |
