So can you explain how Death and Hell were cast into the lake of fire? Revelation 20:14🙂
Mr "Pick and Choose" show my entire quote. See it below. Hell and Hades are NOT used interchangeably

Truthseeker10:
Are you saying that "lake of fire" is the Greek word for "Hell" in English?
I am not saying anything and I can't say anything. I can only state what the general and expert consensus of what a word means in today's language. In today's English language Hell means a place of conscious torment

According to Wikipedia or Encyclopedia what is the difference between Hell and Hades?🙂

In Hebrew, “Sheol” (שְׁאוֹל, Sheʾol) is the ancient Hebrew term for the realm of the dead, the grave, or the underworld. It appears many times in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament).
Core Meaning
Sheol was understood as:
the place where the dead go after death,
a hidden or unseen realm beneath the earth,
a place of silence, darkness, and inactivity.
It was not originally described as a place of eternal fiery punishment in the way later ideas of “hell” developed.
Different Ways It Is Translated
Depending on the Bible translation, “Sheol” may appear as:

“grave”
“pit”
“hell”
“realm of the dead”
For example:
In Psalm 16:10, some translations keep the word “Sheol,” while others say “grave” or “realm of the dead.”
In Job and Ecclesiastes, Sheol is often pictured as a shadowy place where all people go, whether righteous or wicked.
Etymology
The exact root of the word is debated by scholars. Some connect it to a Hebrew root meaning:
“to ask” or “to demand,” suggesting that Sheol is the place that continually “claims” people through death.
In Ancient Hebrew Thought
Early Hebrew writings generally describe Sheol as:
common to all humanity,

not a place of reward vs punishment,
separate from later Greek ideas like Hades or later Christian concepts of hell.
Over time, Jewish and Christian beliefs about the afterlife became more developed, and ideas connected to resurrection, judgment, paradise, and hell became more distinct.
Related Terms
Hades — Greek term often used in the Septuagint and New Testament as an equivalent to Sheol.
Gehenna — a different term later associated with judgment or hell.
Septuagint — translated Sheol mostly as “Hades.”

So you make my point. Language is a not static. It is like a living thing. Meanings of some words change over time. In today's English Language that Lake of Fire in Revelation is referred to as Hell. You were asked what JW call it but you did not answer

There are words called synonyms in English. In our everyday English Language of TODAY, "Lake of fire" is synonymous with "Hell".
In English language of today Hell is NOT the grave and is not a place where nothing happens or is felt

Newlight777:
Not everyone shouting “LORD” is walking with GOD ALMIGHTIEST. Many want heaven, but reject the life that leads there. The greatest deception is thinking religion, church attendance, titles, emotions, or public appearance can replace true surrender to JESUS CHRIST.

The scripture says in Matthew 7:21:

> “Not every one that saith unto me, LORD, LORD, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but HE that doeth the will of MY FATHER which is in heaven.”

Some people speak about GOD ALMIGHTIEST with their mouth, but their hearts are chained to pride, lust, hatred, greed, unforgiveness, rebellion, and secret darkness. Heaven is not entered by confession alone. Heaven responds to transformation. If CHRIST has not changed your nature, your Christianity is only an appearance.

The danger is that many compare themselves with men instead of the holiness of GOD ALMIGHTIEST. Because they are “better” than others, they think they are safe. But heaven is not graded by human standards. One unrepentant life outside CHRIST is enough to remain separated from THE LORD.

The scripture says in Galatians 5:19 to 21 that the works of the flesh are manifest, including adultery, fornication, uncleanness, hatred, envyings, drunkenness, and such things, and that:

> “they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”

Many people want the crown, but refuse the cross. They want eternal life, but resist obedience. They want the promises of GOD ALMIGHTIEST, but refuse repentance. A man cannot love sin and love the presence of GOD ALMIGHTIEST at the same time. What you continue to protect will eventually rule you.

The scripture says in Hebrews 12:14:

> “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see THE LORD.”

Holiness is not fashion, vocabulary, or public performance. Holiness is the life of CHRIST ruling a man from within. It is when darkness no longer has dominion over your desires. It is when the fear of GOD ALMIGHTIEST becomes greater than the pleasure of sin.

Some people will not make it to heaven because they delayed too long. They kept saying “later.” Later to repent. Later to surrender. Later to forgive. Later to obey. But eternity does not wait for human convenience.

The scripture says in 2 Corinthians 6:2:

> “behold, now is the accepted time, behold, now is the day of salvation.”

Hell was never created for man, but many walk toward destruction daily while believing they still have time. Life is fragile. Death gives no warning to many. The greatest tragedy is not dying physically. The greatest tragedy is standing before JESUS CHRIST without truly knowing HIM.

The scripture says in Matthew 16:26:

> “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

Your money cannot save you. Your popularity cannot save you. Your intelligence cannot save you. Your church title cannot save you. Only JESUS CHRIST saves, transforms, delivers, and gives eternal life.

The door of mercy is still open, but no door stays open forever. Repentance is not weakness. Repentance is wisdom. The blood of JESUS still speaks. The grace of GOD ALMIGHTIEST still calls men out of darkness into life. But every man must choose who will rule his soul.
You have said the plain truth.

Anybody that has ears to hear should hear!

For those saying there is no such thing as hellfire, it will be fatally catastrophic when you die and discover there is hellfire - when it will be too late!
For those hardened unbelievers insisting there is no hellfire, no problem, we will all discover the truth when we die.

The big problem, however, is that once you enter hellfire, there is no coming out!

You better humble yourself now before death and hellfire will humble you by fire and by force!

Those of us who have chosen to follow Jesus Christ at all cost, are not stupid.

We will soon be vindicated.

There's no question about that.

Re: See Why You Won't Get To Heaven by MaxInDHouse(m): 8:36pm On May 16
Jesus said you will know the truth {John 8:32} but you people love lies. Satan is the one who lied that there is no death {Genesis 3:4} when God said the wages of sin is death! Genesis 2:17; Romans 6:23
As for a place to torment people Bible God said such an idea is totally strange to Him! Jeremiah 7:31

Your church fathers misinterpreted that verse what Paul said is that anyone who has died has been acquainted of his sins {Romans 6:7} because the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23

God never spoke of any other thing after the sinner is dead that is why none of you can say where Adam whose sin affected the whole world is today yet you believe sinners who were infected through Adamic sin must face another punishment after death.

Before anything could be called "SECOND" there must be "FIRST"
God told Adam and Eve that rebellion will lead to their death which means if they never rebelled against God they would have lived till today.
It's through them that we all inherited sin and death {Romans 5:12} even when someone served God all his life as a righteous man he must die!
So the death that has no boundaries is the first which has spread to all humans {Romans 5:12} out of His mercy God will resurrect people from the first death {John 5:28-29} but the death that only affects unrepentant wrongdoers {Isaiah 65:20} where there is no resurrection {Psalms 9:17} is the second death. That is why God's word says Death and Hell were cast into the Lake of fire {Revelation 20:14} because neither death nor grave will exist in the kingdom of our God!

It was a PARABLE! Symbols - nothing is literally what it says!
Besides, the important thing is that we know clearly what we mean by Hell in today's English language. Hades is name of a god in ancient Greek mythology, and also a place for the dead.
It is hardly used in today's English

Bible called it the second death.

Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. ‭Revelation 20:14 NIV

There is resurrection or a come back for those who undergo the first death but there is no coming back for anyone who undergoes the second death.
That's why God's word said death and hell were thrown into the lake of fire since they will never exist again!🙂

Good that you are serious now. I am not asking you If Hell and Hades are synonymous because you have already answered the question. You do not need to show me another screenshot since you already explained Below in the screenshot the evidence that proves that Hades was NOT synonymous with "Hell". You explained that "Hades represents a temporary holding place of the dead(grave)". So the question remains. Why would your Pictorial biblical evidence show that that Jesus reffered to "Hell" in Luke 16:23, 24 While the NIV shows "Hades" when you have already proven that "Hell" and "Hades" are not synonymous?

Hmmm the answer is there in your copy of the Bible!

@ Revelation 20:14 the Bible say:

Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. ‭Revelation 20:14 NIV

Then in the next chapter the Bible say:

‘He (God) will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” ‭Revelation 21:4 NIV‬

Death and Hell (grave) always go together {Revelations 6:8} because it's when people die that they are buried in graves so if death will be no more the same thing will happen to graves. They are both thrown into the lake of fire! Revelation 20:14🙂

This guy is an unserious fellow. He claims that Hell is not synonymous to Hades because his own NiV uses Hades instead of Hell in Revelation 20:14. The funny thing is that he has a picture on this thread that shows that Jesus was reffering to Hell in Luke 16:23, 24 while his own NiV uses Hades🤣.
