I Regret Trusting My Community Elders - Cubana Chief Priest Blasts by dawnomike(op): 12:00pm On May 17
Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has reacted to his defeat in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in Imo State.

The celebrity businessman, who serves as the Imo State Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, had sought the APC ticket to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives.

Reacting after the outcome of the primary election in a viral video, Cubana Chief Priest said he had no regrets contesting for the position. Still, he expressed disappointment over what he described as misplaced trust in community elders.

“I’m a hustler, and I didn’t regret trying to contest for a position. My only regret was trusting the elders in the community. I know how much I gave them, but only 14 people voted for me in the primary,” he said.

Cubana Chief Priest had announced his political ambition earlier this year, advocating for what he described as cleaner and issue-based political participation driven by young Nigerians.

Following his defeat, reactions trailed the outcome on social media, with some users mocking the businessman and suggesting he may have underestimated the dynamics of Nigerian politics.

However, Ossai Ovie Success defended him against online criticism.

“Why are people mocking Cubana Chief Priest? Not nice… it’s ok to try and try again,” he wrote on Facebook.

“He lost an election and so what? I am disappointed,” he added.

You leave registered party members go dey meet your so-called Elders to do what for you?

Instead of locating every registered party member within your constituency which you can easily do by getting their addresses and phone numbers from the party registry, you went to meet some retired but active 419ers masquerading as elders .

With this direct Primaries, every aspirant must open a campaign office within his constituent zone and engage mass volunteers to manage phones and go on a door-to-door campaign meeting every party member

But instead yiu go buy drink for some useless elders who probably are not even in the APC

You want to do cleaner and issue-based political participation driven by young Nigerians....

By bribing and buying votes? I know how much I gave them. Any candidacy built on a faulty and corrupt foundation can never produce the required change.

The youths are the future generation and Should be given a chance in government. The truth however is that they are a calamity and catastrophe waiting to happen. As they are Probably more corrupt and have been messed up so badly by the older generation of politicians they have become empty and low self esteemed. Lacking ideas on even the basics.

People like Cubana have so much faith in his money and thinks money will buy him everything... including political power.

Kudos to those elders for chopping his money and still not voting him in. I only hope they voted the right candidate and not the higher bider.

Take home lesson for future voters in the next election is chop the politicians money when they offer you to buy your votes... take their money don't refuse it but still vote your conscience and the right candidates. It's your stolen common wealth anyway.

We can't continue with the terrible leadership situation in the country. Elections are around the corner once again Vote wisely except you enjoy the hardship currently in the Nigeria!

Re: I Regret Trusting My Community Elders - Cubana Chief Priest Blasts by Eriokanmi:
You ain't seen nothing yet. The spirit of the apc is one. Full of deceit. Once you get infected, you'd never be logical in your thinking again. You should have stayed in your career. Apc will use you, then dump you and render you worthless. See the way they're lashing out at Makinde now, the man who helped them secure oyo state even as an opposition governor. They're full of ingrates.

I don't see that happening again in 2027 cos Makinde too has an ambition and he has all it takes to achieve it. Even if it doesn't happen in 2027, he needs to start creating the awareness now. Tinubu is on his exit point, politically and age-wise so, Makinde would not dare to miss his chance of building his political career too.

Every APC's supporter, thinking Tinubu's strong hold is south west, take note.

Ohhhhh!!! You were actually banking on your community elders to deliver the entire Igbo votes for tinubu, who has failed in all ramification to bring to the table dividend of democracy to Nigerians.

Dreamers every where.
