Whether it is GTBank, Access Bank, First Bank, UBA, Zenith, Opay, Kuda or any other — we have all had that one banking experience that left us speechless. Frozen accounts without notice. Failed transfers that took days to reverse. ATMs that swallow cards. Customer service that puts you on hold forever. Charges you never agreed to. But also — some banks have genuinely impressed people with fast service, easy apps and quick resolutions. Which Nigerian bank has frustrated you the most? And which one has genuinely impressed you? Share your honest experience below 👇🇳🇬 You can also search Truxper on Google to rate and review any Nigerian bank permanently. |

Yes. There was a time I went to the bank to deposit money. As I was going it started raining so the notes became wet. I got to counter, the cashier said he could not take the notes because they were wet and the bank policy says such money should not be taken. In annoyance, I told him I wanted to see the manager to complain. Instantly showed me his office. I went to the manager and explained. The manager was surprised and said I should follow him. I took the manager to the cashier and the manager faced the man and said, 'Mr. Man this money belongs to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, take it from him'. |

This is exactly the kind of experience Nigerians need to share more often. The manager's response was brilliant — 'this money belongs to the Federal Republic of Nigeria' 😂 That cashier clearly didn't know his job. But imagine if that manager wasn't available or wasn't reasonable. Many Nigerians face similar situations and have no one to escalate to. That is why leaving a review matters — it creates a permanent record that helps others know what to expect before walking into any bank. Which bank was this? Would love to hear more experiences from others here 👇🇳🇬 |

Access bank frustrated my life then , sheybi na Jeje my account dey normal na im I go meet them , na them say make i upgrade o , gbam , na im everything disappear.. while the upgrade was on for premium savings , na im the agent say him go collapse my ID , seems my name Appeared not matched on two accounts with them . Then I gave them go ahead , do it .. not knowing that e go later end somehow .. whenever I log into my Accessmore app , I found Account not available, no history , no account found , internet banking too , no account. Just via ATM and over the counter and I've gone there severally, them keep saying my account is active . And most of my transactions I so much run them via App.. so frustrating. I went there about 2month ago , if there's anyhow I can have the app , them say the app is not compatible for my phone. ( And me never get money to buy any other phone ).. i forget about them for now hoping for another day. But sincerely, Access is a good bank ... |

truxperteam:like seriously, this thing just happened to me now n I open nairaland n I see the topic ASAP So funny ![]() I dey use Airtel normal so I went to one small eatery to eat, I chop finish e reach to pay na so opay begin load, e just dey load, the waiter was there n u know that kind of thing that they will start feeling maybe the person no get money ni... I maintain my cool, I check access e dey bring name but e no load to pay, I got frustrated that I had to show the waitress the account balance which she seems uninterested about cos of previous experience of people eating n giving excuses when it's time to pay. I see say e wan dey turn f up na him I call my wife to send their money, I don reach shop back like this n I don off my phone like 500 times. I learnt a bad lesson today, anytime I wan go chop I go first do transfer or make I hold reasonable cash. |

Access bank. 1. Few weeks ago I sent money to my gateman who was hungry and needed foodstuffs, the money hanged for days. I had to send him another money and then start sending emails because thier customer care numbers don't go through. 2. Today,I have tried buying prepaid units , I have been deducted but yet to see token. The painful thing is that it is my salary account. |

Access bank frustrated my life.. I can't forget that year.. I can't be specific with the year, maybe 2017 or 2018 every other banks could withdraw with their atm. Only access bank verve couldn't work. I was cashless and stranded. Funny thing is I had money in the two access bank I was using. I got two accounts with them because the bank nysc gave me was access. I wan die that day. I took bike on an express, something I normally won't do to meet my friend who paid. Then within the same year it occurred again. That was when I knew the romance with them was over. I used the bank briefly during Cash scarcity due to connection i had there to get cash. I've scantily used them afterwards. Wicked bank with arbitrary charges |

Opxy is the best bank Ease of doing business Tiny cashbacks, incentives & free airtime, Sadly it’s owned by a Chinese that doesn’t believe in Nigerias infrastructure or economy It didn’t list in Nigeria Stock Exchange It probably went to enlist in New York Stock Exchange Opay plans to have 1 billion users by 2030 maybe Worst bank for me is Polxres Dead & difficult bank Horrible & time delaying customer service Poor customer service Nigerian banks are failing, they better go learn from Opay if they want to be relevant in a decade |

For me, the biggest issue is their banking apps. I use two banks, one for savings and the other for current account. One day, I drove into a filling station and, the moment I mentioned the amount of fuel I wanted, the overzealous attendant immediately started dispensing fuel. Normally, I open the fuel tank lid as soon as I pull up beside the pump, so everything seemed routine. I do not use ATM cards, so I relied entirely on transfers. Unfortunately, the first bank app would not even open, while the second app opened but kept returning error messages whenever I attempted to make the transfer. What should have been a simple transaction turned into a nightmare, and, unbelievably, I ended up stranded at the filling station for over 3 hours. |
