I can write very well without AI but these days I use AI for brainstorming and first drafts after which I edit to my liking. But sometimes I'm tempted to use more AI especially for lengthy write-ups and just put in some final touches although AI does the bulk of the work.

AI OR HUMAN WRITING?
Messi hamstring injury raises World Cup concerns and Argentina just felt a cold shiver run down its spine.

Inter Miami confirmed the news on Monday. Medical examinations revealed muscle overload in Messi's left hamstring, caused by fatigue. No definite return date. No timeline. Just a wait-and-see approach based on how his body responds. With the World Cup weeks away, that is the last thing anyone wanted to hear.

The moment happened on Sunday during Inter Miami's wild 6-4 win over Philadelphia Union. Messi grabbed the back of his left leg in the 73rd minute. Then he signaled to the bench. He asked to come off. Lionel Messi does not ask to come off unless something is wrong.

At 38, every injury hits differently. The body takes longer to heal. The margin for error shrinks. Messi has carried Argentina on his back for nearly two decades. A World Cup title in 2022. A Copa America. The man has nothing left to prove. But he wants this tournament. Argentina wants this tournament. And a hamstring issue at the worst possible moment is the kind of drama no scriptwriter would dare invent.

The club is being cagey. Recovery depends on his physical response and clinical progress. That is code for we do not know yet. Hamstring injuries are tricky. Push too hard and it tears. Wait too long and the fitness fades. Argentina's medical team will be on the phone with Inter Miami every single day until that plane leaves for the World Cup.

For now, the football world holds its breath. The greatest player on the planet is limping toward the biggest stage one more time. Everyone is praying he makes it.

For me, I can easily detect an AI content no matter how naturally you try to tone it.... Some even go to the extent of making intentional typos, sigh!

But here's how I strike a balance with getting impressed and not getting irritated; I realize that it takes a level of intelligence to get a top-notch response from the machine, I mean there must have been extra logical efforts or input which the machine will try to keep up with, so as not to reduce it's standard of intelligence, reason why there are different packages, i.e the free and premium subscription...

Nothing beats human intelligence, AI isn't bad, but it makes you lazy intellectually, the best one should use it for is to proof read or cross-check one's work, but as for creativity, it's a big NO for me...

Yes, I still know how to write. I write often, as I am an author of a number of novels and movie scripts (these scripts are still in the works, though).

I enjoy writing, and I get a lot of complaints from young ladies and girls during my chatting moments about my messages being lengthy. I can't help it. It's a writer's habit.

I just feel those girls are either lazy to type, or, they simply do not have confidence in their written grammar, and so, they avoid it. Several of them are less educated than most of you here. Trenches babes, they are.
They occasionally suggest to me to only make use of voice notes. One said she didn't understand written english that much. I was touched by her honesty, though. And, if you see the size of this girl's booty... My gosh!

Only using VNs to communicate on WhatsApp? Not a writer's delight, if you ask me.

You're literally behind. Lol, continue on the linear lane while others go geometric.

AI response is only as good as the operator, and it never, I repeat never kills creativity. It only enhances it if you're solving real world problems.

But according to the bible, using AI is not bad na,even man was once a robot with no self-awareness created by a being wey more advanced than man just like man create robot and AI now..

In the bible God created man without self-awareness, man dont know good from bad, they cant love, no feelings, man didnt even jnow he was naked. Until the being called Satan today showed man what to do to be self awareness, to be like God by knowing good from bad. Let me stop here

If this is human written, it's very bad o. Short short statements sprinked and jammed together to form paragraphs.

Or maybe because it's written commentary style. I have not read much commentaries.
Re: Be Honest, Do You Still Know How To Write? by Bobage16(m): 5:01pm On May 26
Crazy. When I write, even if I'm lazy to, towards the second paragraph, I begin to relax and enjoy it more because it becomes like I'm expressing my thoughts in the best way and I feel like i can even write with my eyes closed lol, but I never reach that level, maybe it'll feel good to have an Elon musk device to easily make notes just by staring at the paper, lol. Sometimes I don't even know when I write up to 10 paragraphs, right now I'm writing an expression to my brother about how life's been and how i'ved been seeing life since few years ago and how intend things to be generally in next few years. Some friends said I should be a writer, but a lazy one when starting a writing, lol.
Re: Be Honest, Do You Still Know How To Write? by Bobage16(m): 5:05pm On May 26
Lol, remember some people write differently. The way an Indian writes might be different from the way a Nigerian. To know ai most times you need the experience from using it . Ai thinks Messi is best player on planet?

Hehe... Well, I agree, different people write differently. But a write-up originally written in English supposed get a smooth flow.

AI wil agree that Yakubu is the best player on the planet if you tell it that it's true. Baba go even pack facts and analogies to back the claim, after telling you "You're absolutely right". 😝

Oya, no forming.. coman talk true.

One of the biggest jokes in the Digital space today is "make is sound very human". Human beings asking a machine, to make its output simulate a human. Who you dey whyne?

Of course, that's the beauty of technology, yen yen yen, people adapt. Some will give analogy of writing with pen, to using typewriter then word processors on computers - but in all these the skill of coming up with valid thoughts, logically related points and following grammatical rules was on you and steadily improved over time.

Now, most people jus throw in their "half formed" idea of what they want into any of the LLMs and gradually their writing or even reasoning skills begin to atrophy.

First, it was social media and terrible abbreviations, then people no longer knew when to use "am" vs "I'm", "is" vs "it's" vs "its", "there" vs "their".

Oh me? I love writing gan, I already do enough augmenting my daily tasks with AI alright, like coding assistant, but NEVER in expressing my thoughts.

So, who's up for a challenge... Test yourself if you still know how to write.

Haha.
I am better than many, I still believe this to be true. I'm a " work in progress " when it comes to being a Holy man. At the age of 30 years old, about to turn 31 next month, I would give myself a pass mark for self-control when it comes to promiscuity with the other gender. Taking into consideration that I'm facially attractive and they bring themselves to me, yet, I haven't slept with any in over three years.
Ejor, I try, o jare. 😅🤷

I love length texts, too! They are exhilarating to my chatting experience.

...but this thing you said, ehn... It touched me, though. Chai, I need to improve on my holiness. I seem to be lukewarm, here and there.

What are the signs you look out for? Em dashes? Sequential use of big words for simple things? 😅

I think for corporate and official writing, it's still okay to just use these tools to speed up the communication - those ones kukuma lack "soul".

But writing as a means of informal communication, or for expressing ideas, apart from the human touch that the readers get, there's also this writer's high that comes from knowing a beautiful thought was penned down from your beautiful minsd
Using AI for writing is like an extension, not a replacement for creative work.

Like you said, it takes an intelligent person to get an intelligent response from the machine. I do use AI, not for writing, but for correct grammatical errors. Or drafting ideas.

I once did a practical by giving the plot of my novel and a few chapters to AI to see if it can draft new chapters and continue. The first chapter it generated was fairly good. The next one was just 😂😂😂 let me not say.

AI is great for refinement or revision, but human imagination, visualisation and creativity still beats it in writing 100%. I believe real life experience has a play there, something LLM doesn't have.
