Appointees of a company can not stand as a layer in the court of law. So they too will still hire a later for the job. The staff lawyers can only advise can't stand for them in court. Keep dreaming. Your love for quick money fools you into thinking legal cases are the shortcut to wealth. Your eyes will clear. They threatened but did not publish. At the end, she will lose as she would repay her loan in full and still waste her time and money in following court proceedings. Something that's chicken change for the company that has its lawyers on a retainer basis who handles hundreds of cases as a full time salary job making the company cost per case close to minimum.[/quote] |

Stephen0mozzy:Sue what? An app? Some of these loan apps are rogue apps, they are not registered with CBN. They do not have physical offices. They don't exist as a legal entity in Nigeria. So how will she sue them. |

Olofofo247ng:She should report to FCCPC. Digital lenders were strictly prohibited from doing this. She should file a complaint with the FCCPC and attach this to the email it was sent. |

EthicalLender:Being over due is not an excuse any loan that over due comes with interest. Why do the add interest when it is over due. Let me tell what u don't understand; Loan apps charges everyday 1% if u fail to pay after the expiration of the due date against 1% every month . Secondly did she agreed and signed that if she fail to pay that that they will publish her burial poster? |

I stand with repayment of loans and obligations. However my major concern is if the interests rates is within the ambient of the law? as Regulatory standards supercede personal terms and conditions. Regulatory annual interest standard is what these guys adopt for monthly interest..ask yourself is 30% monthly interest fair? It can't be sustained after few cycles they would default so it's indirectly self inflicted! If you default they charge as high as 1.5% daily while the law stipulates 1% monthly. Have you ever wonder why they can't follow the regulated debt recovery process? They are not playing by the rules! Hence they go gaga... If they were following the rules, trust me people would pay up as the debt wouldn't be enormous. Lastly they use agents to do this dirty work while paying them stipends exploiting our economy... |

lordm:If Nigeria had working institutions, those loan apps won't be working in the first place, talk more of issuing loans with above 40% interest in some cases. |

No app loan will ever do this. This will lead them to bankruptcy. |

If the loan app or company is registered, the directors would actually go to jail. Nigeria has left the dark ages actually. FCCPC DEON 2025 is the guideline that constrains all their operations and it is strictly adhered to. This is also in direct contravention of the NDPC act of 2023. If it isn't registered, then it's a simple cybercrime police case with the number that actually sent or posted this including the person that started this thread. You started this thread and you might also be held liable for violating this person's fundamental human rights. Data provider, data broker etc, everybody in between are in trouble. Nigerians need to know that some of these problems have been sorted out by the government. Go and file a petition. Just buttressing your point about bankruptcy. Pickup8: |

AMI3:Let me explain it to you. When a loan becomes due and the borrower pays it bank, the loan company does not just keep the money in it's bank account they lend it to another borrower who needs it and they earn interest on it. Therefore if your loan is due and you fail to pay it back what it means is that you are denying the loan company an opportunity to earn interest on that money that is the reason they charge you a penalty so as to compensate for the interest income they are loosing while their money is tied up with you |
