Omoh no be by force to chop am. I dey see every now and then. I have never for once thirst for it or feel like indulging myself.
A former boss of mine once bought pizza for me, I dashed it out. I categorize it and Sharwama as same, same as meat pie.
Anything that was wrap with flour and orishirishi beneath it is a turn off for me.
I have eaten meat pies before, but it's bcus of the bad experience I have of it that makes me rule out eating Sharwama and pizza cus I look at them as same

What we eat in Nigeria is not the original shawarma recipe.
Let's just call it wraps (of whatever they put inside).

The original shawarma recipe has lots of chicken inside, no hot dogs, and it's not filled with soggy/messy cream. None of that messy stuff.

And it's those messy stuffs that turn me off from them. Infact my bad experiences with meat pies makes me detest it and pizza.

Shawarma get type sha, if you eat thrashy one you'll feel its just hype, but you eat better shawarma na addiction straight up, first time i tried it was in abuja, chicken shawarma with lots of clunky chicken, there's also suya variety, its expensive but worth it, get it at junkyard grills, had it with freshly made milkshake.

You have to eat it with chilled natural yogurt to enjoy it

What's so special about eating shawarma?

There’s nothing special about made in Nigeria shawarma, to eat proper shawarma you have to eat one made in the Middle East or by person from that region Iran, Iraq, Türkiye, etc. It’s a local food for them.

Everywhere I go i see Sharwama there and I can afford any amount I want, but truth be told I have never tasted it in my entire life and not about to do or try.
I just hate anything wrap underneath flour.
My bad experiences with meat pies caused it.
A former boss of mine once bought me pizza. That was the first and only time of seeing pizza up close. I collected it, took it home and dash somebody.

The picture and video I have seen of people eating pizza especially when they take a cut and it draws like okro soup 😁😁 puts me off. Anything burger, Sharwama, Meat pie, pizza e.t.c. Count me out.
And I also hate mayonnaise eh, it's bcus of it too I don't like the Sharwama and salad.

Note: The place where you eventually eat the first shawarma will determine what follows afterwards - Some shawarma literally taste like heaven, while some taste like porridge wrapped with flattened bread.

But them nor dey telli person.... It has this taste - whether hot or cold, with all the mixed ketchup and cream, diced chicken, sausage rolled up 🤤

Have never been curious to taste it not to talk of eat it... I just don't fancy/like the messy look plus all those junks inside.... It irritate me same with burgers and pizza..... I love my African dish and simple, dry and handy snack like chicken pie, doughnut (prefer it more without jam) and sausage

My first experience back in 2002 killed my desire for it.
Traveling from warri to Lagos with a neighbor of mine. He stopped at Ore for us to eat. Bought a plate of akpu and vegetables for me with a big fish on it.
While eating I decided to take a bite from the fish. I took a cut and everything just dissolve in my hands like a tissue paper touch by water. I put some pieces left in.my hand in my mouth, and the taste was just bland that I almost threw up.
I asked what type of fish is this and they said catfish. I just pushed the entire food aside.
And my neighbor said I should order for what I want.

As for me, I have never tasted sharwarma,pizza,fearless,weed,etc

There is nothing special but if you eat a well-made one you'll understand why people love it. You can even do a home-made quasi shawarma. just put suya in bread with some of your favourite veggies and drizzle some mayonnaise/salad dressing/french dressing/avocado mix on it. It's a slice of culinary heaven.

It’s a matter of choice. There are stuff like meat pie, burger but I don’t each shawarma.
I’ve bought it several times for people and still don’t eat it.

Me too, I tasted hotdog one day and that was the last time I near shawarma. Even the odour is pissing me off
