Most of those commenting don't understand the gimmicks and antics at play.

This is, though a genuine concern but largely a pretext to the real challenge.

There are growing concerns in the UK, US etc for local manufacturers, Amazon, eBay, NEXT, Argos, Curry etc. Since the advent of Temu, most of the sales of these big companies have kinda dwarfed compared to projections.

Their complaints, though genuine, arose from cost of production. Temu is super cheap because of the model and the exemption from the UK company for some goods and value of items.

1) Temu is Manufacturers to Consumer- it takes a lot to beat that

2) 90% of Temu Sellers don't pay for logistics- they only take their goods to Temu Warehouse in China thereby selling at a ridiculously low fee as Temu helps ship to their destination country.

3) Once you are a seller, you can't raise your price down once it's set and the algorithm is designed to always serve you lowest prices first hence the cheap prices and this drives down sales and lower demand on other companies like Amazon, eBay, etc.

4) Temu is intentionally currently running at a loss to capture the market. This is largely disruption big companies as they've amassed a good proportion of the market share.

Etc. I can keep typing and typing....I found out all these recently when I went into deep research.
Good points raised but EU is simply ask8ng that TEMU meet their standard. Do younthing the mystery shoppers won't have proof they bought from TEMU?

They usually write the dimensions of their products, but in most cases we don't check them out.

Everything I bought on temu has worked perfectly.

Temu is an open market. You MUST read properly the product description. Did you know that you can get original brand products on temu. Just search and you will be amazed. Buying knockoff stuff most times is why you have such complaints. Iz a Chinese company and China gets you exactly what u pay for.
Don't mind him. That's how you know people that like cheap stuff.

Temu is popular in climes where prices come before quality and safety. Unfortunately, European companies can’t gamble on selling toxic junks to their consumers. Lawsuits arising from such actions would bankrupt them.

Really? I have been lucky with most things I got there. I usually check reviews before paying
Re: TEMU Fined $232 Million For Breaching EU Rules On Sale Of Illegal Products by MemoriesAndMe:
For me, Temu is not a place to shop from. The products are advertised as standard and you end up receiving something else most times

I recently ordered an electric kettle from there, it was delivered promptly and i tried to use it only to find out the kettle was leaking.

How electric kettle go dey leak water? Its like ordering a leaking rice cooker or Crock-Pot from them and your whole house gets burnt down because its substandard and water drips everywhere when youre not watching.
The electric kettle almost caused a fire in my kitchen where it was plugged if I wasnt watching.

Imagine selling leaking electric kitchen appliances to millions of households around the world.

Who knows how many households have been so badly hurt from substandard products Temu promotes.

TEMU has become sort a meme for a fake product around the globe. i.e. That guy is TEMU Lebron, TEMU 50, TEMU Trump etc grin
In fact, they even get mind dey sell substandard for Europe.

Having said that, I have bought plenty household items from there that were okay.
I had not a single problem because I know the kind of things to buy there.
I will never buy clothes or shoes from there else it becomes what I ordered vs What I got

I do hope you got the point. The claim isn't invalid. They need to only come from a solid perspective and Temu, unfortunately, will fall short. There must have been proof of course. Temu is just a platform. Do you know this same claim is applicable to Amazon?

That's true! However, the price is a reflection of the quality - not entirely bad. You need to understand that they usually put dimensions in their advert but we don't look carefully but they now put larger pictures.

Absolutely correct! Another company that is becoming huge with the EU and UK consumers are SHIEN a chinese company just like TEMU, Incredulously cheap and quality items especially clothings and they do not charge for shipping or some hidden unnercerssary charges.

The EU do not produce anything they are only good at making up these ridiculous rules, taxing and imposing fines on manufaturers who are not within their EU block.

I love the angle you’re coming from. But it’s as though they pumped a lot of money on adverts and not necessarily good or standard products.
As a market capture strategy, do u however feel that it’s sustainable?

It is not sustainable however the market they have captured will remain with them.

Currently, in UK, Most Chinese goods imported under £135 have subsidized to no tax. So as much as it's not entirely sustainable, Temu will still be a go-to for most people for these kinds of goods.

Also, considering that Chinese people and cheap labour coupled with low-margin-high-volume concept.

For Temu, it's sellers that bear the brunt while buyers are kinda pampered. In UK, if your goods don't get delivered within timeframe, you get £4 as credit- I got this few times.

Temu will always win.

The government proposed 2029 to phase off the subsidized foreign goods.

Yes! The funny thing is that a lot of people don't even know She in has some lower-priced products than Temu. They spend less on advertising and so not easily on the radar.

Shein has the strictest requirements for sellers as per entry

Your point being...

Of course, Amazon and co don't like Temu. But that has nothing to do with Temu's bad behaviour, which needs to be punished. Amazon and co that you listed are mostly American sef, not European.

Yes And like you rightly said about TEMU selling directly to customers, SHIEN sells straight from factory/manufacturer to customers, I have become addicted to purchasing almost all my households items from SHIEN so many people are also addicted to SHIEN good clothes and cheap prices including shipping, i am not sure what their plans are but they appear to want to take over the EU and UK market

It's quite unfortunate that you can see through the lens at which this was instigated. Besides that I have been following this up, I hope that most products sold in Amazon are from China. Those doing triangular arbitrage, drop shipping etc.

However, Temu needs to know the way they do things shabbily in China is different from here.
