I limit it to non-techy stuff generally i.e. bedsheets, household cleaning supplies, small portable products, cables & adapter, stickers/posters etc.. the risk with cloths even when you get accurate size is quality of materials, colors... I think they should limit their advertising. It's deceptive, misleading & employing "bait-and-switch" tactics!

It's quite unfortunate that you can see through the lens at which this was instigated. Besides that I have been following this up, I hope that most products sold in Amazon are from China. Those doing triangular arbitrage, drop shipping etc.

However, Temu needs to know the way they do things shabbily in China is different from here.

My people say if they're planning to eat you for dinner, don't marinade yourself. Whatever special insight you have which the rest of us lack, I've shopped on Temu, Amazon and some of the others. Temu needs to drop its shenanigans. No shenanigans, no fines. That's the basic.

This is, though a genuine concern but largely a pretext to the real challenge.

There are growing concerns in the UK, US etc for local manufacturers, Amazon, eBay, NEXT, Argos, Curry etc. Since the advent of Temu, most of the sales of these big companies have kinda dwarfed compared to projections.

Their complaints, though genuine, arose from cost of production. Temu is super cheap because of the model and the exemption from the UK company for some goods and value of items.

1) Temu is Manufacturers to Consumer- it takes a lot to beat that

2) 90% of Temu Sellers don't pay for logistics- they only take their goods to Temu Warehouse in China thereby selling at a ridiculously low fee as Temu helps ship to their destination country.

3) Once you are a seller, you can't raise your price down once it's set and the algorithm is designed to always serve you lowest prices first hence the cheap prices and this drives down sales and lower demand on other companies like Amazon, eBay, etc.

4) Temu is intentionally currently running at a loss to capture the market. This is largely disruption big companies as they've amassed a good proportion of the market share.

Etc. I can keep typing and typing....I found out all these recently when I went into deep research.

Temu is churning out substandard goods. Zero quality control.

It is not sustainable however the market they have captured will remain with them.

Currently, in UK, Most Chinese goods imported under £135 have subsidized to no tax. So as much as it's not entirely sustainable, Temu will still be a go-to for most people for these kinds of goods.

For Temu, it's sellers that bear the brunt while buyers are kinda pampered. In UK, if your goods don't get delivered within timeframe, you get £4 as credit- I got this few times.

Temu will always win.

Hmmm, and me I'm considering getting led ceiling light from them oh, and the reviews of some of them are quite impressive with 4.8% stars on average.

Someone told me to always chek the reviews and number of stars of the seller before buying from them, and also the numbers of years and sales as well

You seem not to get it, TEMU is a platform where p eople sell things just like Ebay ,TEMU do not have anything they sell,The provide Ecommerce that's all. Nigerians sell on TEMU if you dont know, UK people too sell on Temu, if you go fru it well you will see options for local dealers there, so that's those country where locals sell on TEMU.There are things I have bought from TEMU and are supper cheap and work,you just have to take your time and read the description and always have ameasuring tape.

Yes there are loads of markets for labour that is cheaper than China now, cos the Chinese economy is shifting from manufacturing to both consumer nation as well.

Honestly.they will design beautiful stuff and post on their platform.but when you receive your other is another item.they are thieves

YOu are the one not taking your time to read, or you just need a phone with big enough ,I have bought more than N5m worth of goods since 2024 from Temu, yes some goods will be bad but you got to buy practical things and know how to convert inches to millimetre. Even the reading glasses I have on right now is from Temu 3 pair cost me just les than N10k and they are +1,.Last week, I bought N350k worth of baby clothing and stuff to bless a new mum in PH.

That concept has come to stay! Nothing can rival it except incessant law suit that can erode small margin. However, it's quite unfortunate that the same products being complained of are already littered on Amazon by dropshippers and resellers.

No matter how a nation is touted to be a "Value-over-price" just like the west are seen, things are now already shifting. My data on TEMU shows that Temu has really penetrated UK and everyone would go there for products 7x cheaper (at most you avoid electronics) and they sensitive buyers of the need to check DIMENSIONS before purchasing (as people complain of small products compared and being deceptive).

The truth is, the purchasing power has dropped globally and people no get that power like before.

That was a long time ago before I even discovered Temu. By the time I was aware of Temu, it was no longer free or ridiculously cheap anymore. Their prices now rival what is obtainable in the market with the few exceptions when you are given discount.
Between last year and this year, I have ordered items above N500,000. Some of which are substandard, defective or completely useless. My point is that Temu and its sellers are now making ridiculous profits

This statement! Temu is an addiction, one has to agree to that verdict in order to be able to do something about it. What I did when I realised I was ordering constantly even when I shouldn't, I removed the app from my phone. I would only install it when I needed an item or more.
