I Didn’t Criticise, Question Tinubu — Tuggar by ogododo(op): 4:03pm On May 31
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, has reaffirmed his loyalty and support for President Bola Tinubu’s policies, saying he did not criticise or question the President as misrepresented in some reports.

Tuggar also dismissed interpretations of his recent Hausa-language interview, describing them as distortions of his remarks.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Bauchi by his media aide, Abdulkadir Alkassim, the former minister said the claims circulating in sections of the media were false and misleading.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Ambassador Tuggar did not criticise or question President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in any way. Any suggestion to the contrary is false and a deliberate distortion of his remarks,” the statement read.

He reiterated that Tuggar remained a loyal supporter of the President and fully committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda and the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration.

According to Alkassim, the interview in question focused on internal party matters in Bauchi State, particularly the need to uphold transparency, fairness and internal democracy in candidate selection processes.

He said Tuggar maintained that party members should be allowed to freely choose candidates through credible and competitive primaries.

The aide further stated that the former minister expressed concern over alleged attempts by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Ali Pate, to influence the APC governorship process in the state, instead of allowing aspirants test their popularity at the polls.

“His contention was simply that all interested candidates should have a fair opportunity to participate in an open contest,” he said.

Alkassim noted that President Tinubu had already directed all political appointees seeking elective office to resign within the stipulated timeframe, adding that any aspirant willing to contest should comply with the directive and seek a party mandate.

He added that Tuggar’s comments were aimed at strengthening the APC in Bauchi State and ensuring fairness in its internal democratic processes.

According to him, the former minister believes that addressing grievances and promoting inclusion would enhance party unity and electoral success.

“Amb. Tuggar remains steadfast in his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, committed to party unity, and dedicated to advancing policies that promote development, prosperity, and good governance for the people of Bauchi State and Nigeria,” the statement added.

Forever loyal to the "individual" in power, who can facilitate their own interests, but never loyal to the Country...

But still, they'll ask the common man, to choose country over loyalty to own interests... Ask him to swallow taxation hook line and sinker, ask him to believe in One Nigeria, when it pleases them, but remind us that we are different in tribe, religion and language when it plays to their interest.

My comment is unrelated, I just dey think out loud. #AllMenDeyVex

Now to the thread:
Why the whole epistle that screams "Ah, I dinor criticize or question him o. Make una nor put him for trouble"?

My own is, if you personally don't have anything you need grace to hide, is ANYONE ABOVE QUESTIONING AND CRITICISM?

Tuggar should have known better, he should have read the room. Well, academic brilliance is different from political brilliance and analysis.

Guys, there's a big problem

That URL is the backend of INEC server.

If APC has access to INEC backend, what will happen in 2027 is not an election. INEC will manipulate everything for them.

The opposition must be ready to come together to form a parallel government if the results are tempered with. Nobody will go to any court that APC has already hijacked.

It's obvious that due process cannot be used to save this country anymore

There is nothing wrong in criticizing the president.

That is how a functional democracy works and is the only way Tinubu knows the areas he needs to improve.

Governors and Presidents genuinely think they are doing great work because they surround themselves with people who never tell them the truth. The truth can be both positive and negative. Knowing the negative allows you improve service to your people

Re: I Didn’t Criticise, Question Tinubu — Tuggar by epainos:
Tinubu seems vindictive. What I am seeing is a man who will not let you go unless you serve him and satisfy his wish. As in...not a single person (or am I wrong...please, help me check ooo if I am wrong here) who held vital position esp as his minister got the ticket. It seems, he refused to give them any blessing. I remember that Buhari even supported his ministers that quit for gubernatorial elections.

It seems he keeps deep malice. I can understand the extend Akerele-Bucknor, Ambode, and Osinbajo pushed theirs, but this man seems not to allow people have their wish. That of Aregbesola is something else, so, that one is not a yardstick to judge him. But Adelabu, Tuggar, and Alkali. Mehn! This man just left them hanging because they resigned from their ministerial positions to pursue gubernatorial ambitions.

Even Femi Pedro had to go deep to get himself back. Even at it, the man is not in the inner carcus again. Well, I really won't blame him for Perdro's too.

Let me not judge. Let's see what will happen to these three men after. Na waooo.

Nigerians don't take anything seriously. If fellow Nigerians are being kidnapped and beheaded and nobody is protesting, you know the kind of country you live in.
