Final 10mins of the first half have seen them begin to impose themselves on the US. Second half should see them equalise if they keep up the momentum of the last 10.

This is more like Senegal

This is the quickest damage control game here. Osimhen is really leaving Gala. Chelle is not a child, Chelle was sure he was working on leaving . And this has actually not been taken well by gala fans. If he was not going to leave ....this line will have been in the statement he issued..'my heart and soul remains with gala, blah blah ' he has not stated this emotional line because as it is, it is not what it is . He has rather stated his future commitment to Chelle's Nigerian team.

opes:
Osimhen has responded

It is just a pair of friendlies. People are looking too much into things. Let's us build a squad that does not hinge on Osimhen, Lookman nor any single player. It'll serve us well in the future.
Games like these are not for building it’s an opportunity to play against some of the best sides on the planet and have a feel of what an intense opponent looks like especially European teams, the last two games in the unity cup are the ones for building. Poland and Portugal are not using these games for building it’s for them too to have a feel of what a strong African opposition will look like in the World Cup.

The way we continue to play down little details like this is the reason this current eagles may never win any major trophy like the Afcon. This team cracks in the face of an intense opposition where our supposed stars fizzle out. How do we fix this if they don’t get to play bigger teams in world football.

To be fair most of their goal scoring opportunities came from lethargic turnovers by the USA, but damn...Senegal are SCARY on the break.

Their pace in attack and also the ball carrying speed of their MFs, Diarra and Lamine really make Senegal a bonafide threat on the break.

Building a self-sufficient squad is a great long-term goal, but you cannot establish a elite culture when your generational talent treats national duty as an optional, conditional commitment. If the standard isn't maintained at the top, the foundation of the entire team eventually crumbles.

Just when I thought Senegal will settle back into the 2nd 45 and resume from where they left off na Naija-blooded US Striker Folarin Balogun (the 2nd best striker in North America behind Jonathan David) come knack them 3rd goal. Na wa.

Mane at 34 is still Senegal's main talisman. 2 goals.

Assane Diao better be ready to step in when Mane retires from the NT.

It may look like im doing too much on this issue but then its not every thing we can/should defend. Look at this. This is a list of friendly games since his first game. Look at the number of games he has missed and look at the reasons. I know there is a possibility some of the "not in the squad" might be injury but then the reason for all these absences cannot all be injury.
He is still my guy. Love his dedication to the team and his proven capability to be the man during crucial matches. I will always support him but we have to talk when things dont look as straight as we think. Yekini's record should have been done and dusted if he was not choosing matches.
Now he has come out to say there is no transfer issue going on with him. That is fine but it still begs the question, why is our fit first choice striker not available for us when we are about to face two top European teams?

Here we go! Time to watch Assane Diao vs this US defence. Make Mane rest.

Leave them, we are the only nation always screaming building for the future without anything to show, other top nations still have the full strength of their team in any friendly and are still building without making noise like we do.

After Cunha's OG, Vinicius again gets involved, setting up Casemiro header for 2-1.

VAR had to recheck so it is confirmed Goal.

Ademola Lookman played a combined 180 minutes in the friendly matches against Iran and Jordan.
If this is not poor management of a player, then what is it. Friendly matches are not that competitive.
I will not blame Athletico Madrid for deciding against releasing him.

Victor Osimhen is injury prone. I am not even sure if he has recovered from his arm injury.
Exposing himself to a system were players are poorly managed with a coach that is not discerning enough is risky.

I won't blame some of these players when they make decisions like this. Many of these players honour their call ups with unresolved injury cases, and are still not managed well by coaches that are desperate to get results.

Some player risk their club careers and still not get minutes to play, only to get back to their clubs and find themselves at odds with their club managers.

Insane Stat: Senegal's 3-2 loss to USA is the 1st time, the very first time Senegal will lose a game in which Sadio Mane scored.

A run of 46 games (38wins, 8 draws) in which Mane scored and never lost with Senegal comes to an end. This was the 47th game Mane has scored in Senegal NT Colors. He has 55 int'l Goals now from 127 caps.

Brazil 4-1 Panama 61'... the bench of Brazil seems more dangerous than their First XI. They did same vs Croatia.
