Andoni Iraola is close to being confirmed as Liverpool’s new head coach after agreeing a deal in principle to succeed Arne Slot.

Iraola has been in talks with Liverpool’s sporting director, Richard Hughes, over replacing Slot after the Dutchman was sacked on Saturday.

As expected, negotiations have progressed quickly and the Spaniard is set to sign a two-year contract at Anfield.

Iraola has favoured short-term deals throughout his coaching career.

I’d prefer Luis Enrique to Iraola, I like coaches with a proven track record of winning titles.

You have to cook before you taste nah. We never can tell how it will go but football is so fickle these days, Ask Blueco wey dey waste money up and down.
If they can give him some time but we go hard. Arteta is presently the longest serving manager now at over 6 full seasons. The next guy on the list is 4 years (Marco Silva) and he has left for Benfica.
They should have just left Slot along for now as he still qualified for CL although Na very shambolic performances mostly for a long stretch in the season gone by

The difference between Bournemouth and Liverpool is that there will be much scrutiny at Liverpool. Any lost at Liverpool will be scrutinized unlike at Bournemouth, that will bring pressure always.

I'll remind you when Andoni starts doing a good job... I'm an arsenal fan though

Enrique will definitely end up @ Manchester, either city or united, but city is more likely.

Omorr, it doesn't work that way all the time sha. That was how Brighton coach did wonders in Brighton only to get destroyed in Chelsea.

Luis Enrique isn't available, and won't be anytime soon.

The man has built a massive legacy in France... He is practically the most important man in that country at the moment.

PSG has offered him the universe. No other club can match that.

Great coaches aren't really available for now, FSG is frugal in spending which will limit there chances of getting some types of coaches also home pressure is high.
Slot was just not it from the beginning yes, he won EPL on his first season, but we all know in sincerity that this guy was not just it.
If Iraola can convince he knows what he's doing when he gets started,we will give him the needed time.
Imagine Slot buying a player that he never deemed good enough to conveniently play!

Enrique is not available... You have a better chance of getting Klopp back than him.

Older coaches with the experience are now terribly limited... This is the future and reality of modern day football.

So, you just have to work with him patiently, and you never know, he might pull off the impossible in his first season.
