TheSuperNerd:You could see Onuachu standing like iroko tree throughout the passes that finally came to that defender. De boy brought nothing to the attack and was insignificant save th3 penalty. |

Onuachu is not at fault. There was little he could do as he was also blocking a passing lane. He was not close to Misniewski and could never have closed him down as fast as you lots say. I speak from personal experience and as one whose brother still actively mans goal on the side.... Okoye should have done better. forgiveness: |

I have replied this already. That goal is on Okoye. Not the outfield players. forgiveness: |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by forgiveness: 10:53am On Jun 04 |
TheSuperNerd:Oga! Onuachu no press. Our style is to press from the attack. He didn't do jack. Na em fault. |

minfelix:That’s why Chelle will always stand by Nwabali no matter what people say he knows what the keeper brings to the table and his no nonsense attitude. It’s left to Okoye to prove to Chelle he can be depended upon anytime. It’s in his hands no matter the hype or criticisms |

TheSuperNerd:Oga! Me am a football club founder. Judging from how we play, he messed up. We are not known for parking bus rather pressing from attack to gain possession. Onuachu no do nada. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 10:58am On Jun 04 |
He is not at fault. He got into decent defensive position too and was blocking a passing lane by the time the ball returned to Misniewski. The ball was never on his side to even press. Running like a headless chicken is not pressing. Okoye had a great game overall but that goal is on Maduka Okoye. forgiveness: |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 11:02am On Jun 04 |
Then as a club founder, I expect you to have better analytical sight than this. It is not on Onuachu. The ball never circulated close enough for him to press. He is not at fault for that goal. Fault him for his play uptop or whatever but for that goal, it is ridiculous blaming Onuachu. forgiveness: |

3 MFs started vs Poland Ndidi, Onyeka and Nnadi. On resumption of the 2nd half, 2 of them got subbed out and another MF and a striker subbed in. Nnadi out for Durosinmi Onyeka out for Onyedika FDB only came into the game on 63mins as sub for Moses Simon and did not play in the middle. He played on the sides... Even at the Afcon, Onyedika was almost always off the bench before FDB except for the Tanzania game (Game 1). If Chelle drops a midfielder to accomodate for the rise of Nnadi and the resurgence of Alhassan in the GWG, it would be between Onyedika and FDB. Time will tell. Up next: Portugal |

Mujtahida:Atleast the guy good with runs into opponents boxes and scores from midfield. Remember there was a time some fans were glamoring for him to start over Iwobi because of his goals contributions |

I still dey watch this Fernandez sha. In my eyes, Nwaiwu is better than both Fernandez and Ogbu |

Lol.... abeg who get this newspaper? Na CompleteSports? Or Sporting life? Be like na Sporting Life ooo.Anyone who did not see the game wont have any idea of the Double reflex save and 1v1 save vs Lewy (funny how Uzoho also had a 1v1 save vs Lewy back in 2018) unless it was reported within. These guys dey wicked ooo. What sort of headline is this? 😭😭

BankyGee:Okoye just has bad luck. Look at that sterling performance yesterday which would have been capped with our victory only for that devil of a defender to whip that thunderbolt and ruin the young's man glory trip. He should keep going. His day will come. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 11:30am On Jun 04 |
Fernandez is a sleek ball playing stopper. Dont expect him to consistently bring the ball forward. Dangerous aerially too but we did not see much of his aerial threat yesterday. Nwaiwu has a CDM background so is adept at initiating attacks from the back via lines-breaking final third passes or ball carrying. Also aggressive in his man markings. And like Fernandez also aerially dominant. Two distinct CB profiles. ChrisKels: |

Mujtahida:If we were playing SA I would have expected a long ranger. I just couldn't imagine that a belter was coming until he shaped to shoot. I at first thought a cross was coming. |

Watching that game again without stress and tension we really dominated the Angolan. That 1-0 defeat really flattered them to put it mildly. TheSuperNerd: |

Maduka Okoye tried yesterday sha. The criticisms are not unwarranted but in some ways they're becoming excessive. Let's not use because of that last shot to wipe out all the goodwill he amassed right before the last couple of seconds. He just needs to work on his positioning and occasional nervous energy and he's golden. Daz all. |

TheSuperNerd:But this your description already supports my claim because from the description, Nwaiwu ticks more boxes than Fernandez. I like aggressive CBs that can also initiate attacks. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mujtahida: 11:41am On Jun 04 |
minfelix:Whether Okoye oo, Nwabali oo, Uzoho, there's no goalkeeper that will concede that goal that I'd blame. I put the blame squarely on the midfielders and the defenders for letting that guy have so much space to shoot. If you watch the guy's movement you'd see the exact moment he made up his mind to shoot because no one closed him down. |

FiveFootNinja:I wish it was 2-0 before the dye mins shot came..:we wouldn’t even be talking about Okoye…that we beat poland 2-1 would have been the talk of town.. or if that shot was their 1-1 equalizer followed by all his brilliant 1v1 saves made and we later won 2-1….nobody will even remember the shot😅😀….Okoye’s head in super eagles always have him end matches🤣🤣leaving him vulnerable to be torn apart by fans |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by minfelix(m): 11:50am On Jun 04 |
Mujtahida:Leave our defenders out of this oo🤣🤣 that shot was coming from the other side of heaven….it has not even reach the territory of our defenders…the goal scorer just moved away from the centre line oo…so its either Midfielders/wingers/strikers that would have wrestle him… |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mujtahida: 11:51am On Jun 04 |
Goke7:Let's be fair to the members of this thread. I do not agree that absolving Maduka of blame for that goal is hypocritical. I've been one of his staunchest critic but reality is that that goal will beat any keeper any day. If Uzoho had let in that goal, I think the sentiment of this thread will remain the same as is currently being expressed towards Okoye. And in relation to Nwabali - he was criticized, not for his goalkeeping but for his unnecessary antics. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by minfelix(m): 11:53am On Jun 04 |
Mujtahida:Maybe you sha, and thats fair enough from you…but 9ja general fans will blame any goalkeeper in the post beaten by long range shot… The first thing you will hear i viewing centre is “See keeper oooooooo🙆🏼🙆🏼🤦🏽♀️, this one na otu ooo, them wan use shot blind werey eyes” |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mujtahida: 11:59am On Jun 04 |
minfelix:Online reviews of Okoye's performance has largely been positive. So it's not just me. Any fair minded football fan knows that goal is not his fault. He could have saved it. But not saving it is not his fault. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mujtahida: 12:02pm On Jun 04 |
minfelix:Defenders bear secondary blame because they ought to holla on the other players to shield that defender. Mind you it was a polish defender who scored that goal. |

Odunayaw:You really watched him. That guy wasn't originally going to shoot. It was when he realized he had good space in front of him to think and act, that he decided to shoot. One can literally see the moment he made up his mind. |
