Indeed, they did a lot. But the key question is, did they try to develop the Yoruba land as well?

Poverty and dirty politics from politicians is the root cause of ethnicity...

This tribalism issue wasn't a thing even as recently as say 2 decades ago.

Ask yourself why tribalism is getting worse instead of dissipation with the level of exposure and enlightenment in more recent times.

Perhaps some people are deliberately working hard to keep it that way to cause division and disunity!
You are not correct. There has been divisive politics since the 1940s,1950s in this Nigeria. Not something new at all. Except you are not conversant with history books.

Well u don't really know the igbos . Most igbos prefer to travel far than to stay close by. Cos that is going far away from ur comfort zone. But still u don't know that there are lots of silent billionaires doing their business in anambra. U don't know that there are people that travel to anambra every week from Lagos to buy goods. I know a lot of people that travel to anambra from lots of African countries monthly to buys goods that they sale in those countries.

Just note this; THIS WORLD IS A BOOK, THOSE WHO DO NOT TRAVEL REQD ONLY A PAGE .
Why won’t they go out to where the pasture is green?
You need the advice more than I do.

Abidjan is not more developed than Lagos o. Maybe they have constant electricity, yea… But aside from light, nothing else..
Is electricity and say water not enough? Abidjan is more modern than Lagos. Even Its most expensive districts on average are more expensive than the counterpart in Lagos.

How old are you,boy?

Tribalism was entrenched by the British colonial masters...

I ask...how old are you?

You are saying that by year 2000,we didn't have tribalism in Nigeria?

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Too many ignoramuses in the Gen Z youths today .
Yes, lets keep blaming the colonial masters for everything and take no accountability nor responsibility for the sorry state of our country.

It's no wonder Nigeria has been moving backwards since independence.

I put my words together not exactly with the meaning I intended to convey...

But divisive politics wasn't this bad in the past and it's supposed to get better with development, enlightenment etc not worse.

That's what I meant or intended to say!

This is a loose talk.

What did they bring from their village while going to Lagos. Majority of them went through the night bus with nylon bag.
Lagos made the Igbos, simple
Those people from lagos that travelled outside the country for greener pastures, what did they also bring to their host country if i may ask??

Please why have the Igbo people failed to build their own region better than Lagos State huh
Because Lagos state is privileged by location and is also the former capital Nigeria.

If Lagos is strictly Yoruba Land as so many are claiming on this thread, doesn't that mean it is Yoruba that are accountable for it's sorry state?

Beyond all the tall buildings, recreational attractions and Luxury cars, Lagos is a garbage and sewage dumb with countless beggars on the streets and a transport system run by touts.

Tell me, as a Yoruba man....Are you proud of that?

Your head get oil bro!

Exactly!!!

How i wished Lagos was part of south east or south south that is close to Atlantic Ocean like that, borders Atlantic Ocean... Just from there you get to other parts of the world through maritime Ocean way.

He for don developed more than this, my Igbo brothers could of used the opportunities to expand trade etc to other SE States.
That's exactly why I wonder why Lagos booming could not help even Ogun State to develop faster....Ibadan did not develop because of Lagos State, it is because of the University of Ibadan , one of the 3 prestigious Universities we have then and also the teaching hospital, is never because it is near Lagos State even though it is a 2hrs journey interval....

What does it tell ushuh?.....it tells us that the booming spirit and energy drive is not coming from the indigenes of those living near Lagos State so the development is not reaching other near States talk more of Osun, Ekiti, even Ondo ,...

Assuming Yorubas are the pointers of the energy drive in Lagos State, every SW state is supposed to have benefited immensely from Lagos State...

Continue the building.
Leave Lagos and SW alone.

You are everywhere, even in the remotest villages in SW.
Stop building our towns; go and build yours

l
Why exactly should we leave Lagos when we contributed to the building ?
South east is the most developed region in Nigeria
99% of all investment in south east are Igbo owned

Outside Lagos no south west city can stand onitsha,Enugu,or owerri not even aba

We are developing our cities

God forbid.
Leave the South west to hustle in Anambra?
That’s going to be from grace to grass.

If it is a good place, the people there won’t be swarming in multitude in night buses to the south west.
😂😂😂😂😂

Leave those clowns, they wish Yorubas can just leave lagos for them and migrate to their unproductive region they all left for Lagos…..some don’t even get to meet Yorubas till they come to Lagos and Sw because hardly see Yorubas in their sit at home region that they only visit once a year😂😂😂

Ibadan developed because of UI? Did Ogbomosho develop because of the American Baptists that settled there in the nineteenth century too? Ilesa developed because of the big Wesley hospital built there early in the twentieth century by the Methodist church? Abeokuta because of the CMS? These are massive cities that existed and prospered before Nigeria became a thing!

Why should Yoruba leave Onitsha when they contributed to the building of Onitsha? They were there when Enugu was founded, the same with PH. Some Ilesa people that I know can never leave PH because they made it there. They became multi millionaires in dollars there. If there are five hundred dollar millionaires in the SE, you will find Hausa and Yoruba among them in good numbers.

So it is not only Igbos that can't leave Lagos o. I know many Yorubas that can not leave the old Eastern region

Lagos Nigeria is a Yoruba land, it is in the map like that and very close to the Atlantic Ocean i mean it borders Atlantic Ocean. Where our colonial masters came into Nigeria from.

I didn't call Lagos Nigeria a no man's land!

I said it belongs to all TRIBES in Nigeria. All of us.... there's reasons for that.
It belongs to other tribes in Nigeria as if those other tribes don't have their own ancestral homes in Nigeria. They are correcting you and you are still repeating the same thing.

Kinda sounds like you're defending the deplorable state of Lagos, no?

The condition of whatever state I'm from isn't a valid excuse for the condition Lagos is in.

Lagos state's yearly budget is many many times more than that of most other states in Nigeria, even rivaling that of some nations, and Lagos is also the largest economic hub in West Africa.

With all that resource and opportunity, why is Lagos now such a mess? How can one defend that?

Anyways, to answer your question, I'm from Kwara....Hope you're satisfied.
