Unless there is a POF some where it will be hard to proof home ties and Canadian living cost.

Hello guys...

10m is not enough for schooling obviously but it is enough for visiting... Although I get what you meant, it could easily pass wrong message to another reader who only wants to visit and has 10m
I have done a breakdown of this before countless times on the Nairaland visitor visa page, but people said I was a mad man because of my breakdown and the links I provided.

My position still stands: if you have only 10 million naira in your savings account in 2026 with a nigerian passport, it is not enough to comfortably support a visitor visa application to Canada. Yes, people will tell you what you want to believe thats it is enough, but being direct and not sugarcoating things is usually where people get offended by me.

Anyway, anyone can do whatever they wish. I am just a mad man behind a keyboard who am I to tell you what to believe or not believe?

Only God knows how many people here you have scammed. But because I am here, I won't let you do that again.
Since April 2017 on nairaland , no one has called me a scammer, but you unfortunate users always find a way. 😂😂😂

You still haven't shown me the $160 CAD room for rent on Facebook Marketplace or any other platform, brother. 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄

I am still waiting. ⏳😂

Bank loan for schooling? You need to trend carefully on that.

Then to get a loan in Canada, you need a credit score for which you won't have that when you arrive in Canada.

Not Nigeran Bank loans oh. You want them to hang my head? I am talking about Canadian Bank Student loans

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by lanresz(m): 12:55pm On Jun 05
Even 20 years ago, you can't get a room to rent in major cities for $160. Unless 2 people are sharing a room, which most landlords will be totally against.

This scammer is it because I don't allow u to scam people again? Do you want me to educate you what shared apartment means?

A room that goes for 500CAD, if four students share it how much will each pay?

Calm down young man You know shared apartment is different from shared room right

Wait you think 4 people can share a 168–208 sq ft. room for $500 hahahahah so much ignorance in one sentence

You see, I am here to cure your ignorance and teach you what you do not know, BOY.

The advertisement you shared means that the landlord has 4 rooms available for rent.

Each room costs $500 per month, and not all landlords will allow more than one person to occupy a room that small.

Wait, how do you expect 4 people to stay in a $500 room? 😂 That's no longer human living that's a pig farm.

Learn and stop talking nonsense about things you do not understand.

I co-own a 2 bed room apartment with my sister which we rent out, and Toronto bylaws which Scarborough falls under state that:

The minimum floor area of a room used by two or more persons for sleeping shall be four square metres for each person.

The average bedroom size is about 168–208 sq ft.

9 m² (97 sq ft) = 1 person
18 m² (194 sq ft) = 2 persons
27 m² (291 sq ft) = 3 persons
36 m² (388 sq ft) = 4 persons

check page 31 https://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/municode/1184_629.pdf

So, in most cases, the maximum occupancy by law for an average room is 2 people. Even then, $500 divided by 2 is still $250 per person and that's assuming the landlord even allows two occupants.

So you see, it's still nowhere near the $160 you mentioned. 😂😂

Oya, show me. I am still waiting for AbelAbdul to show me a $160 CAD room for rent on Facebook Marketplace or any other platform in 2026. 😄

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by lanresz(m): 5:57pm On Jun 05
You are arguing blindly. Are you saying a 4 bed, 2 bath house is rented for $500 a month? Or you expect 4 people to share a room? No matter how bad the neighborhood is in Winnipeg, a 4 bed, 2 bath house will cost more than $1500 with no utilities included. With utilities included, you are looking at almost $2,000. Even in 2003/04 when I lived in Winnipeg, you can't find such houses for $500 a month.

For the person that want to run a study visa on #10m approximately CAD10,500, it is not possible. The only caveat is if you get a fully funded scholarship that cover tuition and part of living expenses.

Good evening People of God.
Ii got my study visa approved since February.
Will be in Canada in August for my September 2026 class kickoff.
At this time, I need some guidance.

1) How easy or difficult is it to get a house or apartment (as they call it) in Calgary?
2) My school is SAIT, (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology), which locations are better and convenient for me? I don't need to spend much on transportation.
3) Is it cheaper to get a winter suite her in Nigeria or should I leave it and buy in Canada?
4) I understand I can work just for 24hrs weekly, to what extent, precisely, can the pay here take me? I am self sponsored!
5) I understand I can on have 23kg each for 2 bags, excess of which I'll pay. Should I get more of food or clothes?
6) As someone going for electrical trades technology, how easy or tough can I get a job as a student?
7) Which bank will you advise a new comer to open a d what type of account? (I will deposit my 2nd semester tuition and living expenses in that account)
cool If I work hard, can I raise my 2nd year tuition? I am paying 23,200 for year 1.
9) Housing, what rental price range is a cool deal if I can find one? I need a personal room and don't mind sharing kitchen or toilet

I will appreciate if those that know the exact answers to this question can assist me.
Thank you.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Gobdddd(m): 11:07pm On Jun 05
Sait is one of the most expensive colleges in Canada. Bear this in mind

Johnbosco1:
I appreciate your response and I can say you are mostly correct based on my research. However, I'm not worried about getting him into a Welding program in AB. I just want to understand what the challenges are in the eyes of a Naija international student who's lived that experience.

Based on the info I have gathered:
==> Study welding at SAIT
==> Graduate and apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)
==> Use your SAIT training to:
====>Get hired faster
====>Convince an employer to sponsor you
==>Register apprenticeship => complete hours => write exams => become certified

Who's studying in SAIT/NAIT, please shout it out? Thanks

The person said I can pay the balance using proceeds from student work permit to pay up the balance.

Your questions will only create unnecessary hullabaloo amongst nairalanders and between i am 100% certain that you will be confused and not get accurate information.

Naturally your school has or will provide all the necessary info that covers those answers and your admission Counselor can link you with Nigerians or Africans in the same school.

The above is the norm. Mail your school.

2. Get admission into any trade school or college in Canada that is less than 5m.
3. Apply for study permit less than 300k
4. Book a flight that is less than 1m
5. Get a shared apartment round 150k monthly

I hate when someone lies about me and twists my words. I never said you needed an agent to get admission. You are being disingenuous at best. I can see you're good at twisting people's words, and when someone doesn't agree with you, you immediately call them a scammer. 😂

I never posted any agent's number either. That's just another one of your made-up stories.

It's very easy to lie, twist words, and misdirect people, but you are still wrong. I can tolerate a lot of things, but I hate it when someone tries so hard to put words in my mouth and claim I said or did something that I never said or did

You found out you were wrong, and now you keep calling me names and labeling me a scammer.

I have been on Nairaland since April 2017, yet it's only now, in 2026, that you and your gang have suddenly decided to start calling me names. 😂

Brother, you are trying too hard. Instead of addressing the facts, you resort to insults and false accusations. That doesn't make you right it just shows you have no real argument left..... Now do not avoid my question show me. I am still waiting for you to show me a $160 CAD room for rent on Facebook Marketplace or any other platform in 2026. 😄

this scammer keeps discouraging people from coming to Canada as if Canada na him papa house.

So far the rate of approval on this forum outweigh the rejection but this scammer would say the rejection is high.

All because we refuse to use his agents to process visa.
