Obtaining a driver's licence is quite straightforward. The most important requirement is obtaining a Driving School Certificate from a driving school accredited by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). The process of obtaining this certificate, including data capture, usually takes between 26 and 30 days.

Once the certificate is ready, your driver's licence can be processed as early as the next day, provided there are no network-related delays.

After successful processing, you will be issued a temporary driver's licence valid for three months. Before the expiration of the temporary licence, you will receive a text message notifying you when and where to collect your permanent driver's licence. It sometimes takes up to 1 year to get the original

It is important to note that applicants in Abuja are required to undergo and pass the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) test before being referred to the FRSC for eye testing and biometric capture. In some states, the Board of Internal Revenue performs this role instead of the VIO.

While some individuals may choose to bypass these tests through unofficial means, this largely depends on the person handling the process. Applicants are advised to follow the approved procedures.

For those who require the Driving School Certificate urgently, there are expedited processing options available. However, such arrangements are not handled directly by the driving school owners. The certificate portal is managed by consultants who may charge up to ₦100,000 for accelerated processing

You would have gone to jail for manslaughter and from what you wrote up there you would really have deserved it. You didn't care a life was almost lost as a result of your carelessness. All you were just doing was trying to absolve yourself of any blame. You are heartless.
Telling us that's the story for another day, while the boy was lying down almost dead according to him.Why are we this wicked! Human lives in Nigeria is like ordinary animal! Wow!

For renewal immediately you make payment and sign with MLA and VIO then capture at FRSC Driver's License Center get temporary card to be used for 60 days.

But for fresh applicant get your driving school certificate with your details tallying with your NIN, to be ready after 26 days when you go CBT.
Get your learners permit

Download your MLA form 1 and make payment online or bank with the Id Application number, go to VIO with your vehicle for driving test which you must pass, proceed to MLA for signing, then submit your form at FRSC Driver's License Center for approval and capturing to be issued temporary driver's license.

To be used for 60 days of issue.

You don't know the average Nigerian is naturally wicked? We only show empathy towards another if and only if it affects us directly. If it doesn't we just don't care. Shebi children as young as 2 yrs are in the forest and yet our government has not declared a state of emergency and launched a manhunt for the kidnappers. They are more interested in reelection. The ogun state government even organized a festival at a time like this. Many of us are just plain horrible.
What annoys me about this one is that he was just trying to shift blame to the child forgetting it was his car that hit the child. He only became concerned because he realized he might be liable to the accident. I just imagine how someone that reason like this would be in real life.

Oga I didn't hit him, he did. I was on my lane when he suddenly dashed out from where he was standing with his sisters. Apparently, they were waiting for the road to clear before crossing, but the stupid boy for his own demonic reason tried to put me in trouble. Everyone around there knew it wasn't my fault

Very funny! First of all you must know that if you kill someone whether right or wrong while driving, it's called Manslaughter. That one is 7 years jail term. So they don't even need your driver's license at that point. You will handle the burial fees and then go to jail for 7 years, go and thank God the boy survived.
FarSide:
So, last week, I was involved in an accident with my new car. The victim, a boy of about 10 years laid lifeless on the road. Though it wasn't my fault but that a story for another day...

At first I thought it's just an accident, maybe if the boy dies, the parents will now carry him and burry. And maybe at worst, it's a bad name, people could be suspecting me of murder... Anyways their opinion I thought. After all it's not my fault .

But then something struck me. I have no driving license! That's when I realized I could be in for a long thing. How can I clear myself at the police station. I could be charged for murder and I will be doing a prison term for it.

At that moment, I started sweating profusely. I realized a single act of negligence (failing to get a driving license) could land me in serious trouble.

But then, my African instinct came in, a consolation I thought. I said to myself, if this boy dies, I will be going straight to a driving school that promised to help me process my driving license and get it instantly at any cost. With that my offense could be dismissed as just an accident.

Well, lucky me, I took the boy to the hospital and he survived. Drove home and grounded the car. Moved straight to the driving school to process the license. To my greatest surprise, they only gave me an enrollment form to fill that day and told me the process will be continued after 26 working days!!!
I was like "sir, is there no way to fast track this?" He said no way. That was when I realized there is no shortcut to freedom had the boy died from the accident. Well, I'm still patiently waiting to continue the processing and get a valid license. Though I drive the car once in a while but I'm extremely cautious. And I pray my chi will see me through.

Lawyers in the house, what do you think would have been my punishment??

My fellow new drivers, do well to get your license asap.

People depend mostly on how fast their feet can carry them to cross. Great you were not attacked by people and labeled a fraud boy. Glad to know you didn't run away too.
Most important thing to keep on mind is speed limit and people running across the road.

Accidents are not uncommon because there are next to non road signs and markings.
The same way I'm playing a piano 🎹 during church service without ever belonging to a choir or joining in a choristers rehersal.

Oga it can never be done same day. Once you register through a government approved school, there is a portal( cannot remember if it is roadsafety or Lagos state gov) your details will be uploaded, and it starts to count 21 days (or so) before a certificate is generated. So it means there is no way around it. It is the certificate number you then upload on the Nigeria drivers license web portal when applying for the license.

Keep tab on the driving school otherwise you won't get their certificate even after 2 months.
Immediately you get it go to frsc office for biometric, they will give you a temporary license afterwards.
Wait for about 2 months or thereabout for the original license to be ready.
Go for 5 years license!
