Hello, I remember opening a cscs account with a firm, long time ago, say 2008 and I registered the few shares I bought with them but I don't know anything about it anymore 😕 Should I create another cscs account or is there a way I can recover the old one? emmasoft: |
| Re: Mutual Funds by emmasoft(m): 11:48pm On Jun 06 |
Christie171:First you need to know if that firm you opened account with is still existing or not. If it's existing simple just contact them and request for your cscs account that will help you to know if your shares was dematerialized then or not. You can as well visit their office. Go to SEC website and search, if the name appears it means they still exist otherwise you do as stated below. If they no longer exist, you will need to open a new cscs account and then follow the process of moving your stocks from a dead house to an active house. Get in touch for further guidance. |

| Re: Mutual Funds by freeman67: 7:02am On Jun 09 |
Adadajiki909:The reset is either done by yourself or you will cost a brach to get it done. Go to their web portal not phone app and try to log in, then above the password column you will see reset password option, follow the prompts and reset it. |

If you use Coronation MMF here, kindly share your view regarding their services. Will you recommend them? How did you open the account? I found one Coronation Wealth app on Play store but it has really terrible reviews. Is there a better app or online portal for account opening and management? What is their current rate? Thanks in advance |

Hello my brothers and sisters. I have been doing stanbic imaan fund and GT Equity since october 2025. For like 6 weeks now, my profit has reduced drastically. (my capital is still intact. My profit is still much) Its been Yakubu since for some weeks now. A Bird told me to withdraw all my money from stanbic ibtc imaan fund and GT Equity, that the coming election and that govt is putting hand on the stock market to hold it. That there will be a decline for several months. However i intend selling some in september to buy Dangote's IPO once it comes out. Then keep the rest for long term compounding Whats your take on this? Should i move my funds out? Will the market record losses from June to December because of the election? Is it true shares will keep going down? Is the coming election going to affect equity fund and shares? I need your answers thanks My Mum has been putting pressure on me to sell all my equity funds |

If you've experienced Trustbanc MMF on both the Prime app and Cowrywise, which is the better option? I find the Cowrywise credit and debit fees quite annoying. Is it worth moving from Cowrywise to the Prime app? Do they use thesame rate? If you've only used the Prime app, is it smooth and seamless? Is the user experience and customer support great? Your response will be greatly appreciated |

investmentvirus:@investmentvirus, as I mentioned earlier in some of my posts, you cannot separate the stock market from any mutual fund that has equity as part (or all) of its underlying assets. Whatever happens in the equity market will directly impact equity or balanced funds. Market movements, whether upward or downward, are natural and reflect how financial markets operate globally. You would have noticed that when the stock market was performing well, your funds were also doing great. Now that the market is bearish, you are experiencing the opposite. This is normal. This is where having clear investment objectives becomes very important. Your objective defines your approach and expectations. Without it, it becomes difficult to succeed in stock market investing or any form of investment. If you are investing for the long term, short-term price movements should not be a major concern. Instead, a downturn can be an opportunity to acquire more units at lower prices, positioning yourself for future gains when the market rebounds. Markets move in cycles, and recovery is a natural part of that cycle. Regardless of external or even internal challenges, strong companies and markets tend to recover over time, especially when fundamentals improve. However, if your risk tolerance does not align with stock-related investments, you may consider safer options such as Treasury Bills or MMF with capital preservation and more stable returns. Ultimately, aligning your investments with your risk tolerance and objectives is key. Election or no election, the stock market remains. Generally, most people fear and panic during elections, but it's unnecessary because whether the incumbent or the new government that comes in, there will always be a need for the capital market. I can tell you right now, many smart investors that has cash with them wish the market goes down for them to see stocks like GTCO and the likes sell 30% below their current price, they will gladly come in and take a position, while those who don't understand will panic and sell off. I will also advise, do more reading/research so that you can understand better how these investment instruments actually work, which will enable you to make more informed investment decisions rather than just relying on what anybody says. |
