Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by killaskillz: 8:46am On Jun 04
Hi,
I am planning to sponsor my mum and dad to visit the UK for my wedding. My mum has previously been granted a UK visitor visa, but my dad's application was refused about a year ago due to concerns relating to financial misrepresentation.

I have been reviewing my dad's bank statements and noticed a number of inconsistencies. He is self-employed and has not had much business activity this year, yet there are several large transfers being made to his personal account each month. I am concerned that these transactions may raise questions during the visa assessment.

As I will be fully sponsoring their trip, what is the best way to present the application to avoid any issues arising from my dad's financial records? What supporting documents or explanations would be advisable in this situation?

Thank you in advance for your advice and assistance.

Hi killaskillz, congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Since you are fully sponsoring the trip, you should lean heavily on your own robust financial documentation to show you can cover all costs, while your dad provides a clear, honest explanation letter addressing the past refusal and the exact source of those large monthly transfers. It is crucial to accompany his bank statements with official evidence, such as business invoices, contracts, or asset sales to completely demystify those transactions and prove his strong ties to home, ensuring the ECO has no room for doubt this time.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by killaskillz: 9:20am On Jun 04
Thanks for your responses. Problem is that he has been paying himself from his savings. There's no contract or invoice to prove funds as business hasn't done well this year. Uploading the bank statement i think would raise too many questions.

Good day everyone, I’m self employed trying to get a uk visit visa. I have travelled to Schengen area couple of times with active France visa….. as a business owner I pay myself monthly salary of #1,500,000. This month payment will make it 6month I started paying and I spend #60/70k monthly. Please what additional document do I need to perfect my application
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Komfo: 6:49pm On Jun 04
Good evening All,.My basic salary is 1,500,000 per month. In addition, I receive monthly commissions and allowances, so my net salary varies from month to month. Based on my recent payslips, my net salary was 1,740,600 in March, 1,870,000 in April, and 1,800,500 in May.

Please can someone assist me to the section where asking how much is my net pay?
How much should I insert there since my salary varies?

Calculate the average and document it.
In the additional section page or your cover letter, write what you have done and how you arrived by the average sum.

Your tax documents and annual filings would have perfected your claims but you said you don’t pay tax. Hopefully your business name is active on CAC website and then maybe the Schenghen visa could help allay the ECO’s fears and help your visa. 50-50 chance nonetheless

Why not delay the application for a few months?

Two years renewal, the third UK visa. 6 months, 2 years that expired early May, and a new one.

Biometrics was done 29th of May, Successful email received today 4th of June. Standard application. Fast as f**k.

Please does UKVI accept POF in mortgage or microfinance bank for student visa? My agent has already started the POF and now I’m hearing they don’t accept it 😢

You earn 1.5M monthly and you are spending just 60k per month in this Nigeria. This might look so unrealistic to the caseworker.

I will like to be more realistic with my UK visa application.

Good luck!

Thanks.

Newbie2024:
You’ll need a printout of the eVisa page showing your photo and details.

For my wife, we went with her share code and passport. We didn’t have that page printed out, so they asked us to log in to her UKVI account and show them the information there.

Good day everyone please I have a question in regards of name discrepancies, My ND, HND Certificates bears Onyema and other names are correct and passport with D.O.B bears Onyemaechi. What will I do or it doesn't matter for admission and Visa abroad? And which name should I use for my BSC as j will be rounding up by August this year.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Opeyemi007: 8:23pm On Jun 05
An affidavit claiming you’re the same person should work I suppose.

My parents and I applied for a UK Visit Visa together and they got their decision on Friday. I’m still yet to hear from the UKVI and it’s quite nerve wracking. Has anyone else had this type of experience ? What could be the reason ? Especially as the main sponsor was my dad

There's nothing to worry about. I assume your parents got their visas.

Yours will be out this week. It happened to my daughter twice when I sponsored her. Her visas were approved many days after mine.

Stick to the name on your passport going forward and get an affidavit as someone advised.

They will accept from any institution regulated by CBN.

Why are you using an agent?

Good day, everyone.

I would appreciate some clarification regarding UK sticker visas issued before the transition to the eVisa system. Has anyone recently travelled using a valid sticker visa? If so, were there any additional steps required to link, validate, or update the visa before travel?

Apologies if this has already been discussed. I would be grateful for any guidance or recent experiences you can share.
