Most Nigerian employees will steal if you leave any loophole, no matter how much salary you pay them angry
It all depends on how you treat your workers. That they are working for you alone will be a big privilege to them. Even if they are going to steal, they will be considerate

This is one bitter truth you should always remind yourself of as an employee. It is even worse for people who work in organisations owned by one person or a particular family.

Your employer will never pay you what will make you have enough resources to live a comfortable life.

REASONS:
1. You will be in a better position to walk out of situations that you don't like in the workplace.

2. You will be in a better position to resign and start your own business.

Most Nigerian employers are just like the government. They give you just what is enough for you to survive, and not to succeed.

As an employer, you should realize that the people working for you also have their personal dreams and visions. Your business is your vision, and not theirs. So as they work for you to build your vision, the job should as give them the platform to build theirs. If your vision is being built, and theirs remain unachievable, then there is something wrong with you and your business system.

Last week, I attended a webinar where one of the so-called Nigerian industry giants was admonishing workers to be dedicated and put in their best. I didn't have any issue with that, but when he concluded by saying that salary doesn't matter, that what matters is passion and dedication, I shook my head. We have really lost it! You fly first class to different parts of the world. You buy choice properties. Your kids attend some of the best schools abroad. All from the proceeds of your business, and you open your mouth to tell me that salary doesn't matter?
I think it depends on where a person is working. Because same can't be said of those working in NNPC or Other multi nationals...

Employees usually outnumber employers not really because they have less money than their bosses but because they aren't willing to take bold risks to create more wealth.

Wealth creation can be risky, but fear of failure is the reason why many depend on CV's than their ideas.

I didn't want to agree with the OP because there are places this doesn't matter but I don't know if it is a coincidence that I read this news this morning

Unfair and demoralising’: Thousands of graduates earning less than £12.71 an hour five years after leaving university

If you don't have an education in the coming years, it will be extremely difficult to be okay because even those with an education are facing high competition to survive.

Starting your own business in present day Nigeria under Bola Tinubu's destroyed Nigerian economy is not easy....its not something anyone without a strong financial backup and years of expertise in the business area he/she wants to venture into should try.

Nigerians today have a very low purchasing power leading to poor patronage of existing businesses with history talk more of new businesses without history or name to reckon with.

If you see a job that gives you peace of mind and job security in present day Nigeria, please hold on to it and be praying for God to help Nigerians remove the present calamity from government so that Nigeria's economy can have a fresh breathe, by then you can plan a better future, you can start your own business with confidence, but as at today, starting a new business is not going to be easy......Nigeria is currently bleeding, most Nigerians today only buy what they need to survive for the day, sadly cry cry

Go and set up your own business and pay your employees whatever they ask for irrespective of their productivity
Stop projecting your ignorance on everyone you see online. I am a contractor, and not a paid employee. I don't work under anyone. I have my skills and my price. If a business owner cannot afford my fee, I move on.

This is what happens when people without actual experience write about things they have 0 knowledge of

People in oil companies, in telcos, consulting firms are all living very well.

It is actually the other way round - give a person a comfortable life and he will be able to focus on the job.

Maybe op has been working for extreme lower tier one man businesses
It is either you are suffering from chronic ignorance or you have sight problem. I clearly stated in my post that one man businesses and businesses owned by a particular family are the centre piece of my post. If you are ignorant about the content of a post, do yourself the favour of moving to other threads instead of disgracing yourself.

If you know what it takes to keep a business going and also pay salaries, not minding the expensive cost of doing buisness, you will be grateful to even have a job.

If you even try to be decent and fair you will be tagged a mummu. And ( if you are not always onsite ) all your staff from the manager , to supervisor right down to cleaners and security will collabo to rob you into bankruptcy.

Bro, the point you are missing is, recruitment part. Recruiting people to handle your business is not something to take unserious.

Productivity of the workers don't only have to be physical burning energy, but brain work with less energy. If you recruit like minds, you already reduced any injury to your business

Please stop! If you cannot run a business, then you shut it down or sell it off. Your employees do not partake in sharing your profits, so they should not also partake in sharing your lose.

The salaries you pay your employees are not part of your profits. It is counted as your running cost. If you are not familiar with this, then you know nothing about business management. You don't expect someone who does not share in your profits to share in your lose. So you are not doing people favour by paying them salaries for work they have done.

Absolutely right.

They want you to walk - till you cannot work again

But they don't want to pay you - if possible.
