Obi: Kenneth Okonkwo Releases WhatsApp Chat With NDC Aspirant, Obunike Ohaegbu by naptu2(op): 3:43am On Jun 10
Kenneth Okonkwo @realkennethokonkwo

My attention has been drawn to the interview granted to Channels TV and NJENJE MEDIA TV by Obunike Ohaegbu, the NDC House of Representatives aspirant for Nnewi North and South/Ekwusigo Federal Constituency to the effect that he did not tell me directly that Peter Obi said that he should pay N10m to NDC account for nomination fee. I have been laughing since then.

In all honesty, I cannot even say everything this man told me about Peter Obi just to preserve the remaining of Peter Obi’s tattered reputation. Indeed, I asked him a question when we were discussing orally, “are you telling me that Peter Obi is the head of this criminal gang that defrauded you people?” He answered “Peter Obi is the head, stomach, and feet of the criminal gang.” As a matter of fact, he pleaded with me to save our people from the criminality of Peter Obi. I told him to put it in writing.

His message was so long that he had to apologise for the length. Please tell me, if a person said that Peter Obi was writing list of aspirants in John Wood Hotel, Abuja, who didn’t win election in NDC, to become candidates for NDC, what else is criminality? He even stated clearly that Peter Obi wrote Senator Victor Umeh’s name as a candidate when he lost. He referred to Peter Obi as my friend in some of his allegations against Peter Obi. I asked him to clarify that “my friend” which he wrote was Peter Obi, and he expressly admitted that.

See the WhatsApp messages where he confirmed he was talking about Peter Obi.

Please see some excerpts as directly stated by Obunike Ohaegbu:

“My brother, The entire NDC project, at least from my personal experience, has left me feeling deceived and profoundly disappointed ... While other states, particularly Kano and several states in the North, appeared to be engaged in negotiations and consultations aimed at achieving consensus, neither I nor, to the best of my knowledge, any aspirant from Anambra State was invited to any meeting for the purpose of negotiating or agreeing a consensus arrangement.

Consequently, I mobilised my supporters and participated fully in the primary election process in the belief that the outcome would determine the party’s candidates. This naturally raises a fundamental question. If no consensus meeting was held with the aspirants in Anambra State, and no agreement was reached amongst those seeking nomination, my brother Ken, how did your friend arrive at the list of candidates that he allegedly produced at Johnwood Hotel in Abuja?

Consensus, by its very nature, requires consultation, negotiation and agreement amongst stakeholders. Where there is no consultation, no negotiation and no agreement, there can be no consensus. If aspirants were directed to participate in primaries while candidate lists were allegedly being prepared elsewhere, then serious questions arise about the integrity of the entire process. If that is not fraud, then the word fraud must have another meaning ...

The list reportedly included individuals who did not emerge from the primary process. Indeed, even Senator Victor Umeh, who reportedly lost his contest, appeared on the list. Yet, as of today, 7 June 2026, the party has still not published the official results of the primaries ...

Even more disturbing is the fact that the same statement signed by the National Secretary appeared to shift responsibility for the Anambra situation to PO. I have read the statement several times and remain unable to understand how a political party can conduct primaries, refuse to publish results, claim to have completed appeals, produce a controversial list of candidates, and then seek to place responsibility elsewhere.”

A former core Obidient, Blessing Ezeokoli, had previously made the same allegations.

Morris Monye was the director of mobilisation in the Obidient Movement but he resigned last year. He has followed Peter Obi to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Blessing Chimezie Ezeokoli (aka Jack The Builder) was head of IT in the Obidient Movement. However, he decided to stay in the ADC and did not follow Peter Obi to the NDC.

Let me make it clear that as a citizen and a Lawyer, I have a duty to disclose every crime against the state that comes within my knowledge. The South-East people have suffered enough. No human being can again take them or any citizen of Nigeria for granted or perpetrate any fraud against them without challenge. Obunike is just one out of many others who have been scammed by NDC and its leaders.

The appropriate security agencies and anti-corruption agencies should immediately commence the investigation of this fraud by NDC and its leaders with a view to refunding the aspirants who were defrauded. According to Obunike Ohaegbu, Peter Obi is at the head of this fraud, according to NDC, and he must be investigated.

Senator Seriake Dickson made it clear that the decision of NDC is that aspirants should pay for only expression of interest form and no more. He said that the only person who is allowed to pay for the nomination form is the winner of the primary election. Any other payment to the party is a product of corruption. May I ask, Is Obunike Ohaegbu and the other aspirants for the Nnewi House of Representatives primary election winners of the primary election? If not, then Peter Obi and the NDC must refund him and all other NDC aspirants their stolen money.

This is the main reason I went public with this information. The NDC aspirants must be refunded back their money.

This Kenneth na mumu. Where is Obi's name written on the receipt? That last time I checked, Obi was not the founder nor the owner of NDC. I hope Obi presses on with the suit.

While Obi is not my top choice for 2027, I detest mouths-for-hire like Okonkwo. I can remember how he was passionately defending Obi in the wake of 2023 election, only for him to make a U-turn a year after. His U-turn is sharp, extreme, and disrespectful. If Atiku, whom he currently surrogates for, is wise, he would not trust him. I know politics is mostly about personal interest, but the players should at least show some class and decorum.

Obunike Ohaegbu, when I questioned him to prove that Peter Obi was responsible for demanding the N10m from him and other HOR aspirants and N20m from the Senate aspirants, he made it clear that when he confronted the Party on who authorised the payment, the party named Peter Obi and the caucus leaders who were assembled by Peter Obi. He sent me the "PRESS STATEMENT BY THE NIGERIA DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS" to convince me. Read the Press statement and his indictment of Peter Obi below:

*PRESS STATEMENT BY THE NIGERIA DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS*

Understanding the Just Concluded NDC Primary Elections:

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), which is the fastest-growing political party in Nigeria, believes in the principles of leadership, consultation, inclusiveness, and consensus-building.

The party operates under an established stakeholder leadership structure which has caucus heads in all states of the federation.

In the South-East geopolitical zone, our presidential candidate, His Excellency Peter Obi, came into the party with an established leadership structure comprising respected elder statesmen and political leaders who serve as caucus heads in their respective states.

The caucus leaders are:

• Abia State – Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, former Chairman of the NDDC Board.
• Ebonyi State – His Excellency Dr. Sam Egwu, former Governor, former Minister, and former Senator.
• Enugu State – His Excellency Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, former Governor, former National Secretary, and former National Chairman of the PDP.
• Imo State – His Excellency Chief Achike Udenwa, former Governor and former Minister.
• Anambra State – Since His Excellency Peter Obi is our presidential candidate, his team coordinates the process.

These leaders were entrusted with conducting stakeholder consultations, building consensus, and making recommendations to the party based on their understanding of the peculiar political dynamics in their respective states. In addition, each state has recognized stakeholders and grassroots leaders who participate in consultations and make recommendations regarding party affairs.

This process was conducted without prejudice to the rights of any aspirant. Where aspirants disagreed with recommendations made by stakeholders or caucus leaders, they were free to test their popularity through the democratic process at the grassroots level, and this was duly accommodated.

At no time has the NDC National Secretariat been involved in the business of picking, choosing, or imposing candidates on any constituency or state. Every aspirant who approached the party was received, attended to, and directed to engage with the appropriate caucus leaders, stakeholders, and grassroots members of the party in their respective states.

In line with its affirmative action policy, the party has demonstrated a commitment to encouraging and supporting female participation in elective offices, and has done so in some cases. The party has also expressed an interest in protecting and supporting serving members of parliament. Beyond these considerations, all aspirants were referred to their state caucus leaders and all those who bought Expression of Interest Forms were asked to go into the field and participate in the primaries. We are aware of reports of some aspirants prematurely declaring themselves as candidates, as well as complaints raised by others regarding aspects of the process. These issues have been brought to the attention of the appeal panel and the leadership of the party and have been addressed accordingly.

As resolved at yesterday's NEC meeting, we now look forward to the commencement of a comprehensive reconciliation process. We count on our esteemed caucus leaders, state chairmen, stakeholders, and party leaders to engage all aspirants and members in the interest of unity, cohesion, and the continued growth of our party . . .

2. For this reason, throughout the past several months, whenever aspirants or stakeholders approached the party regarding elective positions, we consistently referred them to their respective state caucus leaders. Likewise, those with concerns or grievances were advised to channel such matters through their caucuses for resolution.

The party’s role during this period has been to receive new members and prospective aspirants into the NDC, welcome them to the party, reassure them of our commitment to fairness, transparency, and inclusiveness, and direct them to engage with their respective caucus leaders for guidance and participation in the process.

This approach reflects our unwavering commitment to consultation, respect for established leadership structures, internal democracy, and the collective pursuit of unity and progress within the party.

Signed:

Barrister Ikenna Alex-Morgan Enekweizu
National Secretary, NDC

Was it not stated in NDC that 10 million was for “intention to declare” fee?

What is the issue?

Obunike sent me the evidence of the "bribe" NDC through Peter Obi told them to pay. He told me Peter Obi needed the money to fund his political campaign. This tallied with what the Honourable from Enugu State told me. The evidence is below:

I also listened to another obidient lady wailing on an obidient X space late yesterday. She paid 10million naira for House of Rep. Only for Dickson to ensure to primary was conducted.

Hopefully, they overcome their loss and move on with life.

The Obunike Ohaegbu even mocked Peter Obi by citing his favourable quote, "To answer Honourable, the path to assuming that name must be honourable." This was to convince me that the entire NDC project is a fraud and Peter Obi is at the centre of it. He wrote the message below:

DIRECT PRIMARIES AND THE DANGERS OF NDC IMPUNITY

In 2023, there was a supposed Peter Obi wave which gave many people the opportunity to clinch political positions. The NDC now hopes to take advantage of that same wave in the 2027 elections.

However, in their arrogance and alleged manipulation, they failed to factor in the implications of direct primaries in the entire process.

Voters in various communities were mobilised to different venues for supposed direct primaries. They were mobilised by aspirants they desired to vote for. They stayed all day, only to discover that either the person they voted for was not the candidate eventually shortlisted, or that voting never even took place.

They went home angry and disappointed. These are the same people the party believes will massively vote for it in 2027? Someone must be high on something.

The arrogance of the supposed beneficiaries of this compiled list made them ignore the grassroots because they had already been promised that they would be returned as candidates.

Primaries were supposedly conducted on 29th May 2026. Today is 8th June 2026, yet no results have been published.

Rumour has it that the party is waiting for the 14-day period within which aggrieved aspirants may challenge the process to elapse before publishing the results.

You are frustrating people from seeking legal redress against your manipulation, yet you will hope to get justice when the APC-led Federal Government plays your own game.

In the words of our presidential candidate, HE Peter Obi, Okwute: "To answer Honourable, the path to assuming that name must be honourable."

That statement applies not only to individuals seeking public office but also to political parties seeking the trust and mandate of the people. A party that emerges through a process tainted by allegations of manipulation, secrecy and impunity will struggle to convince Nigerians that it represents a genuine alternative.

Sad.

I also said in my interview in Channels TV that a well placed political person in Enugu State informed me that Peter Obi is a fraud and permitted me to say it openly. Attached is the conversation I had with the Honourable. People from the South East are tired of the scam called Peter Obi and want to expose him to the world. Read the conversation:

Kenneth Okonkwo can never be trusted. His friends should be careful of him. The way he switch from being a passionate defender of Obi to his most virulent critic needs to be studied at Cambridge.

The fact that he shared private chats to the public just to defend himself and get out of the trouble his uncouth mouth put him is baffling.

I have no respect for people like that. Atiku should be careful around him.

First of all noone should blame APC for tis tbal and this is one of the reasons I said we need more strong political parties and candidate to contest the next presidential election. APC has already lost the godwil ifbthebpeole so there is no point talking bout them .
But now the opposition wil be checking each other ,this is anothe reason why rigging will be very difficult in the next elections . I would have loved it if gej had joned the race then people will have more alternatives .
Kenneth is working for ADC so it is normal for him to try to discredit NDC and obi in order to show ADC as re best alternative to APC
