I won't be surprised if, realistically, he operates out of a converted garage, which he shares with 10 other people, like most of his likes that I have seen within the vicinity. |

Yampotatocarrot:lol, this guy makes over 40k dollars monthly from Spotify only, not to talk of YouTube, Apple Music and other platforms before we start talking of endorsements and appearance fees. |

Personperson01:My point wasn't that taxes are higher in Lagos. My point is that many services that taxes are supposed to provide are often paid for privately by residents. So beyond taxes, people still spend on generators, boreholes, security, estate levies, and other necessities. That's what makes the overall cost of living feel much higher than the official figures suggest. |

I wonder why Lagos state government tolerate street miscreants. Catch them, lock them inside a big farm, let them work and you feed them there. |

njokuuche77:Yes, because most of you do not want to pay the kind of taxes they pay in the USA, which their various local governments and city government use to provide anemites. A city like Lagos has 25 million, yet the budget is 3.1 billion dollars. In the same USA, a city like LA that has 12.1 million people..half the population as Lagos has a budget of 5-6 billion for its police force alone Yes, we say that government would loot the money, and you are not wrong, but the reason why government loots the money is that most of the money we use for development in NIgeria comes from oil money..not from taxpayers. Meanwhile, USA cities rely on taxpayer money. And yes US politicans can be as corrupt as Nigerian politicans...yet because most of the government money comes from the people's pockets there, they have no choice but to run the country well, or else. You will now come and tell me that 1. I am backing government: Government that cannot raise up to 30 billion or more dollars for a whole Lagos to be like the develoiped country, that cannot raise funds from the illegal mines in this country, that cannot fight corruption, na that one I go support? 2. Nigeria is not USA. Yes, but there is no where a city of 25 million can provide even third rate anemites for all on just 3 billion dollars. And that oil money that forms about 80% of revenue for nigeria is not enough, we end up borrowing to make ends meet, or wait for oil prices to rise, hence our debt, Meanwhile at the end since you cannot pay government to provide your anemities, you go pay for am. And we don;'t want to vote leaders that would make us more money. Personally, I am voting tinubu out, so that we can see what obi go do, and if Obi cannot make us more money, make him go. And yes, part of the solutuon is everyone pays tax, or we just accept we are a third world nation and live like one. |

ShenTeh:Thank you for this comment. That's exactly his situation. In US, he will just be another random 'thug' with zero accolades. There are apartments for $1,000 a year in Lagos. At Ibeju Lekki, Epe on the Island or somewhere on the mainland. He just wanted to oppress and be a "Big boy" in Lagos. Peer pressure. No more, No less. |
| Re: BNXN Relocates To The US, Says "Lagos, More Expensive Than US" by njokuuche77(m): 1:18pm On Jun 10 |
nairalanda1:It’s not as simple as “people don’t want to pay tax.” The bigger issue is that even when revenue is generated, the system often doesn’t translate it into reliable public services. That gap in accountability is why citizens still end up funding basic infrastructure privately. |

just want people to know that he's paying $12,000/a month which i still doubt. That's over 15m and you are saying lagos is more expensive. All these validation lifestyles has no gain , las las na you go run back home. |

Betgold84:Bros, no be beans. But make I gist you what got me thinking few days ago. My nephew and niece were around for 2 weeks, infact they went back on Monday. So I was like what was the rush to go back after not being in naija for many years, the guy (19y) said he wants to go watch the world cup. Someone now commented that the ticket for the match he spoke about was about $1500. I said shooooo, 1,5?? As howww??. So I further said you mean your dad will have to pay so much for you to watch just 1 football match, the boy said no, that he has a job, that his 2 weeks pay is $2k, so he will use over half of it to watch that important match. Hmm, so I got thinking, pikin still a teen, in school can just do casual holiday work and be able to earn $4k or N5.6m monthly, pikin without responsibility, no rent, food etc. How much people like Eg nurses come de earn then? Omo no wonder people wan japa go thet yeye country, Trump go fart for their face them go inhale am still ask for more. |

Not only Lagos, all over Nigeria.. The pay for Nigerian average worker in a day is not enough to eat three meals in a day. Drastic depopulation of Nigeria is the contract signed by Tilumbu with foreign operatives. |

What? US has no hoodlums and less expensive than Lagos? I wonder where this guy actually is. First of all Lagos is a city, USA is a country. So that comparison makes no sense at all. And by the way, look out for Trump before you get too comfortable. He doesn’t like Africans from shithole countries that much. |
