Can anyone talk about the probability of US lifting the ban. With what we have so far, whats the likelihood. Cos i feel the ban maybe extended.

That appears to be the most likely outcome.

I'll put the chances of non immigrant visa ban getting lifted at 40%

Chances of complete lift is near zero.

Nigeria is not getting off that list anytime soon. India used to have a free pass, now their rejection rate has gone so high and they're considering other options too.

If you wanna wait, then wait. For as long as DT is on seat, we're in for a long ride. The guy claiming it will be reviewed this month is just giving himself false hope of consolidation

The probability of lifting the temporary ban is clear and obvious. Go to US Abuja/Lagos website and click on news . You will discover that both U.S and Nigeria has a very good continuous relationship.

That being said. Nigerians are traveling to and fro right from the beginning of the temporary ban and to be honest without sugar coating i know many i mean many Nigerians who have being going in and out without any issue.

Nigeria is almost a muslim majority country ( i stand to be corrected) and the terrorists are hiding under islam jihad. The United States knows this and what they can do to curb the inflow of Nigerians is to create a psychological fear cum rigorous visa application vetting.

What i mean by the above is that 75% of all the visa applicants are holding back under the fear of they will deny my visa or my mrv would be gone. But the truth is that if you have a genuine reason to travel to the United States your visa would be granted.

We might wait for ever if we are waiting for the announcement day. Schools are giving admission. First bank is selling MRV and the appointment page is open. Let us reason together.

Yeah i get that chances of a complete lift will be zeroo.
Turkmenistan had a full ban before, but has been removed from a full ban, and moved to a partial ban.

immigrants visa is still banned, but non immigrants visas are being granted. However one thing, their president met with Trump. Tinubu has never met with Trump.

Its really painful that a man will sit in an Office and Bleep peoples dreams.

Pls any mathematician in the house should come and help us to interpret this calculus. Turkmenistan had full ban and her president met with Trump so that their full ban is now a temporary ban. In order word Turkmenistan non immigrant visas is now being granted.

In the case for Nigeria. We are on temporary ban on non immigrant visa. Are we not now equal with Turkmenistan? So will the embassy not grant our genuine non immigrant visas ?

Kidnappers are adding salt to our injury. Trump is not meeting with our president in this year 2026 until there is no more kidnapping and beheading news.

So are we going to wait for ever or those who have genuine non immigrant visa journey should continue with their process ? I know many business CEOs who still travel to negotiate goods to be imported to Nigeria.

The wise one should debate on this without insult or childish talk.

New visa appointment dates and times have been released following reports about the planned reduction of U.S. consular visa processing operations across Africa. Before now, July and August were completely booked, but currently, interview slots appear to be available on most working days across both months.

With this development, there may now be a higher possibility that the ban could be lifted before the end of June.

The slots could be opened for non Nigerian nationals residing in Nigeria, people with dual passports or the few visa categories not under ban.

The fact they are consolidating consular offices is sign they expect the footwall at Lagos embassy to remain low. Which means they expect the ban to remain.

I have a U.S. embassy visa interview scheduled in London in the next few weeks. Does the recent visa ban/restriction apply to Nigerian citizens applying through the U.S. Embassy in London, or only to applicants applying from Nigeria?

I am travelling to attend a business conference and would appreciate any clarification or recent experiences. Thank you.
I thought they said you are only allowed to apply for a U.S. visa in your country of origin. Do well to check; moreover, the ban applies to every Nigerian. It doesn’t matter if you stay in the United Kingdom.

Hi everyone,

I had to create this profile because during my research I wasn’t able to get any concrete information but now that I’ve gone myself, I’ve come to share so maybe it can help anyone.

No visa is being issued under the banned categories to Nigerians. People were told that they qualify but can’t be issued because of the ban and were asked to reapply. For anyone who intends to apply, please make sure to wait until the ban is removed (the VOs made it clear they don’t know when that will happen) before you apply.

Yes, I was denied too for F1 visa under the ban and for home ties as well.

So sorry about the denial. Just a curiosity question,
Were there lots of people at the embassy coming for an interview?. I'm JUST CURIOUS.

I don’t know what it used to look like before the ban but yes the room was full. The immigration section had chairs and they were all filled. Non immigrants stood on the queue and I estimate they were at least 20 people in front of me and behind me. (Some were foreigners residing in Nigeria and the ones I saw were given the visa - tourist visa.)

You know it wasn't all visas that were part of the ban. And booked months on dates doesn't mean these were blocked due to people booking the dates. Consulates release date as they like.

These speculations na just for you. When the ban is lifted we will ALL know

For those who just graduated due to the court judgement your OPT will be adjudicated now so good news.
So pending when USCIS appeal of that judgement is heard decisions on applications will be made

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by TaxLawyer: 9:16am On Jun 19
Nobody is getting approved, Full Funding or not, because Nigeria is under a Ban.

Ideally, they should be reviewing the visa ban now, but they are more concerned about the Israel-Iran war cease fire documentation, last I read, Israel has started bombing Lebanon again, in clear violation of the first clause of the cease-fire.

So Trump is trying to ensure there is a Ceasefire.
