Our group was so bad that we were the only group whose winner ended with less than 20 points in the whole CAF qualifiers. It was a battle of who was less useless EElopa: |

CAF should structure the next WC qualifications in such as way the 4 teams that made semi finals in the AFCON secures automatic qualifications to the WC, while the other teams participates in the regular group games to secure the remaining African WC slots. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by EElopa: 10:12pm On Jun 11 |
Amedino99:CAF needs to adopt a system in which there will be 3 groups of 10 teams. The top 24 ranked teams in Africa qualified for the final rounds. 25 to 54 teams will fight for 6 spots to make it to the final arounds. The top 3 teams in each group automatically qualify for the World Cup. The 2 best 4th-place teams in the three groups qualify for CAF playoffs. The winner in the home and away game qualifier for the intercontinental FIFA playoffs. The goal should always be to have the best African teams in the World Cup. |

Moniter0:Good option. But they won't allow it because this format would always favour Nigeria. |

Nigeria messed up. Me I am not happy S.A loss, I am more pissed now we allow this people beat us with their school boy football, Shay Mexico na Im Iwobi, lookman, ndidi, osimhen no tear apart… Too bad we let Africa down sha . Like someone said, CAF must allow FairPlay too, properly plan the qualifying matches, we can not just be making numbers but go to compete |

Me sef go troll SA well tonight but this disgraceful performance by them only makes me vexed morw at Nigeria allowing this crap to happen. We messed up gaaan. I still maintain we need to raise the standards on how we analyse their games going forward. How did these guys qualify convincingly over us? Why did we now get ginger when playoff was involved? Mehnnn!!! |

| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by EElopa: 10:47pm On Jun 11 |
Goke7:This is the irritation thing that I am talking about. What exactly is the point of qualifying for the World Cup by luck and going there and humiliating yourself? The South African showing today was bad for African football. A team that bad should not be qualifying for the World Cup out of CAF, generally regarded as the 3rd best confederation in the world behind UEFA and CONMEBOL. Look at the nonsense they are doing with underage football in Africa, all modeled towards helping eastern and southern African countries. Very soon if care is not taken, they will take World Cup qualifiers into regionals. This nonsense needs to stop. Madagasca was actually very close to qualifying for the worldcup. Imagine Madagascar vs France; the scoreline would have been historic. |

If this match is any indication of how lowly ranked teams will perform, then expanding the tournament was a terrible mistake. We don't need eyesore matches like this. |

| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Goke7: 11:10pm On Jun 11 |
EElopa:I even have a problem with fifa expanding the number of teams to how many now sef 48 competing nations and they may increase it again which will be making the World Cup too expensive to host. The World Cup should be for best of nations competing at a high elite level. 32 nations is ok, even look at Afcon it’s the number of countries competing now that’s making it difficult to find a host country making the likes of Morocco to hold the entire continent to ransom. Common sense needs to prevail at both fifa and CAF level. Let the best of nations qualify just as you have said. The game is becoming too political with all manner of entitlement attitude. Just see a country like the US using their might to deny people entry just because most of the matches are being held in their country. A nation until recently that only started getting more interested in the game. |

EElopa:Wait im lost. Help elaborate further 24 to final WCq round. So the prelim is 30 teams of 6 groups and 5teams each. 6 from prelim join the 24 in the final round=30 teams 9 spots+1 wcq playoff spot=10 30 teams divided into how many per group pls? The boldened dey confuse me. You want the 30 to be in 10s per group? 👀👀😲 That's gonna be exhaustive |

| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by EElopa: 1:49am On Jun 12 |
daveP:There are 54 teams in Africa. There will be three groups of 30 teams in the final round. The top 24 teams automatically make it to the final round. African teams ranked from 25 to 54 will go in the qualifying series for the 6 spots available to make it to the final rounds. The final round will have 30 teams. The final round will consist of three groups: Group A, Group B, and Group C. Each team will play a total number of 18 games, just as you have it in CONMEBOL. The top three teams in each group automatically qualify for the World Cup. The two best fourth-place teams among the three groups make it to the CAF playoff. There will be a home and away match to determine the sole CAF representatives at the Intercontinental playoffs. |

EElopa:I like your format, although the players may complain of fatigue from the frequent flights to and fro Africa from their bases in Europe, Asia etc, and the grueling 18-match schedule. Anyway, if your idea becomes reality, the Super Eagles 9 home games could be split almost evenly, with Uyo hosting 5 matches, while Abuja (if the renovation is completed on time) hosting the remaining 4 |
