I would love to see Osimhen in a Barça shirt
The guy & Yamal will cook Europe if they sort out their defense issues
Osimhen & Yamal are selfless team players
The egos in Real Madrid is too much if you ask me
And that’s why psg keep winning as a unit

Igoh Ogbu have undergone surgery on his torn Achilles tendon and thankfully the initial long duration prognosis of 6-9months or 1 yr+ is squashed. Slavia confirms he will be out of training for 3 months approximately.
This means the tear was not as too extremely severe as initially thought.

Get well soon Ogbu!

Maduka Okoye is very good with the ball at his feet.
His ball distribution is the best that I have seen of any Super Eagles goalkeeper in recent times.

It was his long ball to Akor that led to the development of the first goal.
He read the situation very well and connected Akor with a sweet long pass, and bam! a goal situation.

TheSuperNerd:
I enjoyed the discussion on Semi Ajayi.

Team A saying Ajayi is limited make fine points.

Team B saying Ajayi is still valuable because of his experience are not wrong either.

Truth is, we have to admit that to see the Super Eagles at her very very very best, we need our BEST OF THE BEST on the field and restricting the discussion to the defence alone, we know who the Best are in defence.

But with that said, I would like us to understand that Chelle is being strategic with the defence's synergy. In Benjamin's absence, Ajayi proved to be a capable partner for Bassey at Africa's biggest tournament of stars, THE AFCON. Yes, a few moments of lapse vs Morocco but he recovered and finished strong. He brought that tournament experience to full bear and his experience across board from partnering Ekong in 2- and 3-man defence setups to partnering Bassey at the last Afcon make him quite invaluable due to his synergy and chemistry with the rest of the backline. His experience makes him quite adaptable.

Now how do you expect Chelle to hastily dump a CB of that experience and worth in terms of chemistry with the others? Ajayi's Top Class Afcon showing was just couple months back. He also helped Hull to EPL promotion recently.

Look, in time, Ajayi will be phased out and thanks goodness we have ready made upgrades already on ground in Nwaiwu and even Fernandez but it is also fact that they are "new" (plus Benjy's absence) that has made Chelle persist with Team Chemistry for now over shiny new toys (Upgrades) who need a bit more time to still blend in.

Chelle will keep inviting Ajayi for now especially ahead of the September/October AfconQs window. And with Benjamin also making his long expected return alongside Aina and Osayi as well, we will be back to our fullest strength at the back.

Ajayi's time is almost up and Chelle knows this but before it hits closure, Chelle will keep extracting what he can from Ajayi's experience for tactical and chemisry balance at the back.

Cheers all.... both teams debated well... and you are both right. The only difference is Ajayi's time is just not yet up.

Thank you. 🔚
You have tied both ends of the rope into a beautiful knot. You have chewed the kolanut at the right spot.

Balogun with a goal. He had scored one that was disallowed as offside. The US is playing with too much energy and urgency, I doubt it can be sustained throughout the tonight.

Paraguay are utterly toothless, this can easily be a 4-0 drubbing if the USA are more clinical.

This World Cup sef.

A player being denied entry? C'mon!

Not a WC historian but has this ever happened?

This pandora box they are opening with all this entry denials.

What stops a player in future tournaments being denied entry by their host country because they don't like his politics?
It's a dangerous trend. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? This is unacceptable.

The U17 of 1987 made me fall in love with football. No light but I remember following my older cousins to watch the final against Russia which we outplayed Russia but unfortunately lost via penalties. Lemy Isah, Tony Emedofu, Philip Osondu, Nduka Ugbade, Dimeji Lawal still come to my mind. Then the daylight robbery of 88 afcon, 89 Daman miracle amd eventual heartbreak to Luis Figo's U21, 1989 u17 penalty loss to Saudi (Victor ikpeba, Godwin Opara etc), 1992 afcon SF loss to Ghana until 1993 when Kanu, Oruma, Babayaro gave me joy as a Nigerian fan and then 94 etc.
You are one of the ancestors we have here. Take your flowers

That principle applies across all criminal offences even murder. But I understand you in terms of the social pressures that can be exerted on a person accused of rape.

Now this is what you call a team. No unnecessary dribbling, no selfish play. Just excellent movement on and off the ball and then quick passes/crosses into the box. The U.S.A are the best team I've watched so far in this tournament.

A stupendously seriously good attacking first half display from the U.S

Particularly Pulisic having so much joy in the wide area on left side, Dest with deft touches and dribble on the right, almost like a PS cheat code.

Ultra attacking display capped with a sensational finish from Balogun.

Let's see if they can keep up with this frenetic attacking football in the next 45 mins.

Or perhaps Paraguay would realise that this is THE WORLD CUP!

You guys are spot on! The attacking play from team USA has been breathless!! I can only compare their first half performance to Chelsea’s first half performances against Barcelona in 2005, and against PSG at last year’s CWC!

His major flaw is positioning. This is where Nwabali is better than Okoye. Have you not noticed that for long shots, Nwabali rarely dives cos he's most of the time already well positioned.

Pulisic has been taken off at halftime 😲. I pray that doesn't affect the U.S.A negatively. He was their most creative player in the first half.
