That 30 years old you expect to still be playing for the SE in the real sense could be 45 or even more in real age.

Seriously speaking we shouldn’t be stunned with all what Cape Verde has been doing on the African continent in recent years. It’s no fluke after all

Cape Verde taking a point off European Champions and WC #1 Contender, Spain is the biggest shock of this WC so far.

The only Afcon they did well was in Afcon 2023 where they reached the quarter finals
Afcon 2021 they were eliminated in the round of 16
Afcon 2019 they didn't even qualify
They aren't doing anything in Africa like you said

GROUP H

Spain

Uruguay

Cape Verde

Saudi Arabia

Another straight forward group. Only that Cape Verde will do better than most expected at least better than their fellow debutants.

Saudi won't win a game.[/quote]Well well well not surprised one bit . My post on Twitter will blow before the end of this group stages.

BankyG do publicity for me for free.

I won't say I'm surprised at the cape Verde result

They usually like to spring surprises and they've been on the come up for a while now

Cape verde is the only African team i have soft spot for….but they should not loseguard now oo….Uruguay is another team with a different style of approach oo…all those big man, tikitaka, defense splitting pass football spain played…Uruguay no dey do that one oo, and they should go to sleep against Saudi arabia…they are arguably one of the Arabian giants too…Just like Tunisia coming to every world cup to disgrace themselves against powerhouse nations but Saudi will also fancy their chance against Cape verde

I disagree they’ve been growing gradually in the game on the continent. The eagles couldn’t defeat them in a friendly years ago. Getting to the quarterfinals in Afcon is no fluke for a team like Cape Verde. It’s speaks to their growth

But for inexperience they would have snatch a late winner today.

Cape verde really doing well on the continent…it took PK shootout for SA to oust them in 2023 afcon.

Their surge started in 2013 when they qualified to the quarterfinals of the afcon… we even played a 0-0 friendly with them that year

Cape Verde’s result is giving the same vibes as when Trinidad and Tobago played out a 0-0 draw with Sweden in their first ever WC match, back in 2006. It was the same scenes of joy from the entire coaching crew and players 😁

This is not luck sir... They deserve the draw

If it were easy, Tunisia won't be conceding 5 against Sweden

What our players lack is heart and grit. Look at Cape Verde. Sometimes it's not skills. It's determination.

Only Bassey and Osimhen have this spirit in our team.

I don't know how rugged determination can be instilled in our players.

This lack of fierceness robbed us of the Afcon final against CIV

Robbed us of WC qualification against DR Congo.

Robbed us of the semi against Morocco.

Warrior mentality. Even mediocres become stalwarts with that kind of mentality.

Exactly you know book jare and someone is asking what have they done. The same eagles that won Afcon in 2013 couldn’t defeat then in a friendly.

So what they have done in Africa is drawing super eagles in a friendly?
A team that goes to one Afcon and miss the next edition is not doing anything
