What our players lack is heart and grit. Look at Cape Verde. Sometimes it's not skills. It's determination.

Only Bassey and Osimhen have this spirit in our team.

I don't know how rugged determination can be instilled in our players.

This lack of fierceness robbed us of the Afcon final against CIV

Robbed us of WC qualification against DR Congo.

Robbed us of the semi against Morocco.

Warrior mentality. Even mediocres become stalwarts with that kind of mentality.
If you don't have it, you simply do not have it.

Tough mentality is not what in train into a player.

Did anybody put it inside Osimehen and Bassey?

This thing boils down to individuals,.. you should allow it to come to you naturally. It should possess and engulf you.

I saw a slight spark of it in Akors' play against Portugal, actually Akor has had abit of it since he came on against lesoto but it's been off and On, unlike Osimehen and Bassey who wears it like Constant k.... As in na follow come,...

It even shows in the way they walk, talk and do things outside football.

Sadly a quality missing in majority of our players.

Onuachu will tear goals up and dowm in Turkey(Ter-key) 🇹🇷 and come to super eagles and start playing like Turkey(Tor-Ki)🦃
That one doesn’t have that single ginger spirit when it comes to African games

They defended staunchly but they also had some element of luck. Spain hit the woodwork and went close on many occasions after cutting Cape Verde open. 27 shots vs 6 shots. 7 on target vs 1 on target

Their xG stats, 2.29xG vs 0.29 xG shows this too.

realpoacher:
This is not luck sir... They deserve the draw

If it were easy, Tunisia won't be conceding 5 against Sweden

Very anyhow people

He won't stop unless he is stopped. He is there to promote SA football interests.

Other FA people in there need to stand up to him and tell him a big NO!..

And if they don't, then let the Nigerian Reps there stop him forcefully. Its high time Nigerians learn to take their work space politics, and gra gra out there too and play it at the bigger stage to the benefit of the country.

Its not only local bad-belle, tribal hatred and wickedness we should be displaying within the country, while becoming MuMu outside where it matters most.

Gradually they are gaining consistency, with time they will get to the level of SA,Mali,Burkina Faso with consistent afcon qualifications…Qualifiying to the world cup and making a statement is gradually becoming an achievement

I repeat, it's not luck.

Luck has always been a part of any football match, it doesn't matter whether you win 7-0 or you drew. Its a constant k... So it doesn't count.

Also in football, you can always create your own luck, it's what we know too. And when you do, its no longer called luck..... It will be called Strategy.

Cape Verde created their own luck for this draw...

Give them their flowers and stop calling it "Luck"

Yan Diomande is the most valuable African player on the market today and for good reasons. Brilliant and powerful two-way winger. He against Zaidu is a mismatch in terms of High-end technicality meeting low-end technicality but in terms of raw power and speed, it may shock you to know that Zaidu will keep up with Diomande. In a foot race, it is hard for most fast wingers to beat Zaidu.

An example of this footrace/power matchup is Edmund Tapsoba vs Yan Diomande in the Bundesliga this past season. Leverkusen won 4-1. Tella scored. Tapsoba is one of the fastest CBs in world football and playes LCB in Leverkusen's 3 man defence that day so he came up against Diomande on a good number of occasions helping Grimaldo (LWB) too. Yan struggled that day.
What really went wrong with Zaidu?
When he broke into the scene, he was quite decent.. maybe that big injury he suggested a few years ago that kept him out for a long time is the cause...either way, he needs to be phased out... IMO, Aina should man that LB until we find a better option..I don't completely trust Bruno either.. We have enough options at RB, so Aina would be better at LB

Bassey too can take that LB self...

Egypt scoring first vs Belgium to remind us all that their 7 Afcons no be fluke.

But can they go on to secure 3 pts?

I commend them, I do not hold back the flowers but there was luck on their side today and the fact that Spain in the last 5 WC editions (including this one) have hardly had a good start even in the year they won it (2010).

Doku and Moses Simon share many similarities than you think.

One is like poundo yam while the other is like pounded yam. People just prefer poundo yam because it's less stressful
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 8:49pm On Jun 15
Relax Dan. Bassey at LCB remains. Bruno is really solid at LB but just needs more serious competition. With Isaac James, Nelson Abbey or Emmanuel Godwin stepping in with time, Bruno wont be the only reliable LB.

Zaidu's fall is sad but nothing lasts forever. But dont rule out a final rejuvenation before the curtains fall for good.

A Peak Belgian team had Prime Lukaku uptop, Prime Hazard on the right, Prime Carrasco on the left and prime genius KDB thru the middle... they were only stopped by Another Golden Generation France era of Varane, Pogba, 19y/o Mbappe and co.....

But today na De Katalaere dey lead attack because the Lukaku on the bench is not Prime. Kaaiiii... Trossard dey wear 10😭😭 And Twilight KDB is not the same as Peak KDB.
