Deregistration: ADC Heads To Appeal Court by ogododo(op): 8:40am On Jun 16
The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has said it will challenge the Federal High Court judgment ordering its deregistration by filing an appeal at the Court of Appeal.

Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Monday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the ADC would approach the appellate court immediately to contest the ruling.

According to him, the party remains undeterred by the court’s decision and is prepared to confront the legal challenge.

Abdullahi maintained that the ADC had built a strong political structure despite previous challenges and described its internal democratic processes as among the most extensive conducted by any political party in the country.

He said: “By tomorrow morning (Tuesday), ADC will be in the Court of Appeal. Ours is a party that was born out of adversity, and we are accustomed to challenges like these.

“We are not distracted by them. Despite the obstacles, we have built a formidable political party and carried out one of the most ambitious internal democratic exercises in the country.

“What we achieved during our primaries is unprecedented and sets a standard that no other political party in Nigeria has matched.”

DAILY POST reports that his remarks followed Monday’s judgment by Justice Peter Odo Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to deregister the ADC, the Accord Party and three other political parties over alleged constitutional breaches.

The court also directed INEC to stop recognising the affected parties and barred them from participating in activities relating to the 2027 general elections pending compliance with constitutional requirements.

One of the reasons I want a new government to take over in 2027 is the hope that it will sanitize the judiciary. Rogue judges like Justice Lifu would be summarily retired and disgraced out of the judicial system.

The level of impunity and judicial rascality witnessed under the Tinubu regime is unprecedented and would be difficult to find a parallel for anywhere in the world.

They ran on the false pretence of being fighters of democracy but time and tide has proven them to be worse than Abacha. Tinubu lives in morbid fear of subjecting himself to the electoral process because he knows that as long as a competitive election will hold, he will lose.

Re: Deregistration: ADC Heads To Appeal Court by Faber(m): 9:05am On Jun 16
Inside life, Atiku bragged that he is always on ballot since 2007 let's see whether he will be on ballot in 2027 that's 20yrs of political galavanting from one party to another.
Re: Deregistration: ADC Heads To Appeal Court by oakfruit: 9:05am On Jun 16
INEC should have used its discretion to deregister the concerned political parties before now and not wait till now but Tinubu see his downfall coming already, hence the action. I see Thienubu failing already with this step
Re: Deregistration: ADC Heads To Appeal Court by Eba50: 9:06am On Jun 16
smileythat judge who deregistered adc actually loves nigerians, but we dont know yet. for apc to go there must be only one opposition . i hope the appeal fails cos amwith more than one opposition, tinubooo will win again, which means 2l percent inflation as from may next year

Appeal court will declare they have no jurisdiction over constitutional matters, they have no rights to the amend the Constitution or electoral act...they will head to Supreme court, and Supreme court will throw the case out. Wike wants to finish Amechi and Atiku , this time with one stone. His life band is ready to release the diss song he already composed for them😂😂😂
Re: Deregistration: ADC Heads To Appeal Court by simpleseyi: 9:08am On Jun 16
Na we still dey there. Just watch as we bury NDC too very soon
Re: Deregistration: ADC Heads To Appeal Court by Razorman: 9:09am On Jun 16

Cry well well. Cry to sleep and wake up to continue.

There are three tiers of government; Executive, Legislative, Judicial. If you are not controlling the three, then you are not in government yet.

For me I actually want them all to participate.. there’s no need to give anyone sympathy votes.. they should all vie.. at least to help divide the votes like the previous election 😂😂😂
Re: Deregistration: ADC Heads To Appeal Court by Olukat(m):
Is a bad case already and appeal court won’t change the electoral act. However, Atiku has won primary election again that has been his strength. After the final ruling he will be chilling in Dubai or Yaoundé

This time around Atiku and his gang miscalculated badly. Same here I wanted the votes divided like before. But now, looks like a two horse race APC and NDC, PDP have multiple factions and can be declared they have no candidate. They just dey chop Atiku money while deceiving him because he has failed to play Politics from the grassroots...Obi's bragging rights is his Obidient Army and his good profile. But even in Adamawa, no one knows Atiku. Kwankwaso have his Kwankwasiyya structure and Tinubu have built men, who are now keeping him afloat.

Atiku is never a politician but wants the highest political office in Nigeria by all means

Gullible masses will vote wrongly. Socrates said the number of iddiots on earth widely surpasses the wise ones and if you give them the opportunity to elect, they (the majority iddiots) will always vote one of them. This is why an iddiot like Donald Trump is leading America today

When is Nafiu Bala filing his own appeal, or is he no longer interested in the party's leadership dispute ?

NDC will do well in some states and will flip some governorship and Paliametary seats..but cannot unseat Tinubu. Obi and all of us knows this but one or two persons need to contest against Tinubu, and Obi have volunteered to do so😂😂

You said there are three tiers arms of government, Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary. Correct. Then, in the very next breath, you claimed that if you're not controlling all three, you're not in government. So by your own logic, you're admitting that a government controlling the judiciary is normal and desirable?

That's precisely the problem many Nigerians are complaining about.

The judiciary is supposed to be independent, not an extension of the executive's political machinery. The fact that you see controlling all three arms of government as a badge of honor rather than a constitutional red flag says more about your understanding of democracy than it does about my criticism.

And the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary are the three arms of government, not the three tiers of government. The tiers are Federal, State, and Local Government.

At least get your civics right before telling people to cry. Right now, it looks like you're not in control of your thought process, because you managed to contradict yourself in two sentences.

Are you sure of this? What if Atiku wins the President Election because the 2 Southerners are busy attacking each other during their turn? I wish Tinibu would just vacate the place for Obi, but many said he won't others also said Kwakwansho is just playing along with Dickson. All these Nigerian the more you look Politics.
