Word on the street is that Eric Chelle is likely leaving before the AFCON Qualifiers. I've done my investigation and close sources are telling me that "you know who" are deeply unsatisfied with Eric Chelle's demands and have no intention to even negotiate, talk less of renewing his contract.

Of course take this with a grain of salt but right now I'm so livid.

I know that demand he brought will choke those tiffs in glass house

I believe most Nigerians will be more comfortable with that Cape Verdean goalkeeper than someone like Okoye, yet he plays in the Portuguese second division while Okoye plays in Serie A.

Another reason why the " where he plays matters " argument is so weak.
Be like Okoye do you strong thing,

Like what's dis you just drop now ehn,

The first casualty of not hiring chelle will be the afcon qualifiers. If they can scale through that , which they might, Chelle will be a forgotten issue. We no really get memory for this country like that. His handling of our team should give him enough leverage for employment in other countries. Im hoping its just a rumour but i wont be shocked if it is true.

Nff don’t have a choice Dan to renew his contract…they have failed in all ramifications and the only bargaining chips Dey have to calm the Nigerian loving football fans nerve is to extend his contract .They dare not add to their woes of not qualifying for the World Cup

If dem try rubbish with Eric chelle ,nobody in nff will survive the heat

It is no rumour that Mr President wants Pep Guardiola as Head Coach of the Super Eagles.
The appointment will score Mr President high political points in the forthcoming elections.

With the way Cape Verde set up against spain yesterday..even my late Grand Mother would have shone in that goal post. There is no reason for comparism based on one match. Spain were poor and unlucky coupled with out of form players.

This na football thread not Facebook.

Chelle want to leave,
Mr president want to hire Pep,
you people are turning this place to Facebook.

Does it even make sense that Chelle would want to leave now,
he was the one that accepted a pay cut to coach Nigeria because he believed he would achieve something great with the supereagles, what has he achieved with the super eagles before deciding to leave?

Some keeper with that tight set up of Capeverde style will still leak in goals oo…
-Tanzania’s vs Rohr pack heavy dangote truck but still got beaten by Iheanacho’s beautiful volley

-Rwanda’s vs Chelle parked a heavy truck with Ntwari making saves up and down until Arokodare Arokodare struck

-Iran vs Argentina at 2014 world packed heavy tipper and their keeper making beautiful saves up and down until Messi came and broke the deadlock…..

So Vozinha really did well keeping Spain at bay

U dey mind them.

And who says I'm judging his ability based on yesterday's match alone.

The guy has always been impressive and was commended on this same thread when last we played against them.

People on Twitter are remarking that his performance yesterday is akin to Enyeama's performance against Argentina in 2010- the last time an African goalkeeper won the man of the match.

Besides, I'm not saying Okoye is awful, I'm only saying Vozinha is better despite the fact he plays in an inferior leagie.

Been monitoring this kid since last year, 20 y/o Stanley Iheanacho now at Mafra in Portugal's 3rd tier and formerly at FC Midtjlland's youth.
because it was 3rd tier, I did not want to drop his reports but I said I would do so summaratively towards season's end.

14 goals in 28 games for Mafra in Liga Portugal 3.

He recently bagged a brace vs League deputy leaders, Academica who will be promoted automatically to Liga 2. Mafra is in 4th place with a game to go in the division and no chance of promotion.

I expect the lad to get noticed within Portugal or outside and make an upward move after impressing strongly in the 3rd tier. His second season with Mafra after joining them in 24/25 from FCM U19s.
And now the kid, Stanley Iheanacho is back at FC Midtjylland but for the main team this time....

21y/o Attacker, Stanley Iheanacho signs a 4yr deal till 2030 for FCMidtjylland in the Danish Super Liga. 'Will dorn the #18 shirt

3 yrs deal. New number 9 for the Serbian League Champions. And he needs no bloody switch before he can get called up. Eric Chelle should bring him in fast. I forwarded his name last week to one of Chelle's scouts. Time will tell.

I think we need that onyeka guy. The german nigerian kid as he is an attacking midfielders. Then Gibson Yah in holland. any other midfielder out there.
Dont you feel we have just too many strikers.
Dem boku.
I think we should go after midfielders from anywhere. from nigeria to europe to the moon.
ok lets name forwards. umar abubakar at famalicao in portugal. ogundu in germany, arokodara, taiwo awoniyi and sadiq umar are still very decent. moffi, many more i cant remember.
abeg lets concentrate on midfield and defence. this is what the real real problem is.
we especially need more options in midfield. the defence is at least getting filled with people
