Okwug2026:You don't know this Argentina squad. They played Algeria like they were training for when the WC will really commence. In the last WC they lost their opening game to Saudi Arabia don't forget. They still have demons Martinez, Romero, Otamendi and De Paul that are always ready to fight to the last minute when this WC progresses and Enzo Fernandez, Alvarez and Mac Allister have come of age, and not forgetting the ever present goal keeper |

M7even:Sure.. They need a proper diet and vigorous training to develop physically. |

TheSuperNerd:When Messi almost scored his hat trick that the Algeria GK saved, the camera showed Infantino almost jumping in celebration that Messi had scored. The whole world of football celebrates whenever Messi does well |

France could actually be the first African football team to win the World Cup 😂 |

Odunayaw:I think we push out our very best out of the national team too early especially when they mess up in a particular game. From what am seeing from many nations in the World Cup, I think we should keep players like Iwobi, Lookman, Ndidi, Oshimen for as long as their legs continue to carry them. In fact if iheanacho can be sneaked in again I don’t mind, does it hinder new younger players? I don’t think so as you need so much of experience in tournaments. If they are even on the bench fine. |

Goke7:I agree with this oo, thats why im so pained Enyeama retired when he did..He would have easily played in 2018 world cup,2019 afcon and help us qualify for 2022 worldcup these would just be him in his 36/37… Iwobi,Ndidi should be guiding the younger generation to come |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Amedino99(m): 12:42pm On Jun 17 |
Yeah true. Altho for that to happen they might have to reduce seatings and increase the pitch size. The ratio of their pitch to the seatings is quite small for some reason. You will hear a stadium has 100k seats but look at it and the pitch is like half of the etihad pitch. Goke7: |

minfelix:Na Oliseh force Enyeama into retirement na. nonsense. Even Ighalo, we chased him out too early, it's a lesson we must take forward in keeping our very good players for as long as possible, even if it's to stay on the bench |

Amedino99:Yeah, like that Seattle stadium looks so massive, but it's just over 60k seating capacity for the World Cup, I think |

Goke7:Emphasis on "very good" players. For instance, I don't mind someone like Benjamin Frederick spending years in the squad provided he's still productive and effective. |

M7even:It doesn’t have to be a “messi” kinda player…an old player still playing top level outstanding old player should not be discarded anyhow.. Ochoa 40 is not in the league of Messi Manuel Neuer is not Messi. If Iwobi by 2030 is still actively playing for a big or a decent team and playing well he should guide the younger generation by then |

| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Sugarboyy(m): 5:20pm On Jun 17 |
M7even:That's what most of you thought at the last WC mostly after they lost their first match. This is an Argentine team that can play and win defensively and also win if they choose to play attack |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Sugarboyy(m): 5:25pm On Jun 17 |
minfelix:Sometimes it's also because despite their ages, they are still better than the younger ones. If Iwobi is still playing at the top and no better younger MF comes up by 2030, I'm very sure Iwobi will still play. Ndidi is still playing because there is no younger player who can do better than him in his SE position. |
