If DRC weren’t trutly tested by world number 5th team, then its safe to say DRC is a top contender for the world cup cos like this its only Germany,France and Argentina that can give them that test😂🤣🤣…
Babaaa DRC is a f###king discipline team…They almost qualified ahead of senegal in their group stage…omo lets just accept that DRC is gradually joining the strong force of africa o…
The way they rallied back to equalize 1-1 against Portugal and most especially against Super eagles was scary…after equalizing us them come turn us to Capeverde…i shed tears seeing Nigeria holding on for their lives via ultra-defensive style UNDER ERIC CHELLE🤣🤣🤣🤣
I t or ta tin so. We get 2 problems.
1. We need midfielders
2. We believe it is only Europe (especially top 5 leagues) that has God players.
There was a time it was midfield defence and goalkeeper but at least we are fixing our defence and goalkeeping issue and it's better.
But we need to get better midfielders that can withstand teams with either a technical, tactical or physical midfield.
The solutions are there and I believe we will explore it with time but we need to be fast about it.

Like eehhn, how countries like Togo,Angola and Capeverde have qualified before them is suppose to be a shame to them oo😀

Cameroon in the late 90s to early 2000s was a nightmare. I'm happy they fell off abeg. 😂😂

I can never forget that 2000 AFCON. That was the first ever AFCON tournament I watched.

Nigeria doesn’t deserve to be at the World Cup.
DR Congo might just represent Africa better than Nigeria at the World Cup after all.
This is not a fair assessment. The reverse could've been said during AFCON when they lost to Algeria and then we went on to eliminate the Algerians.

The truth is teams adopt a different posture when preparing for the World Cup. Given our AFCON performance and recent friendly performance, I think we would've done well. Now imagine how our friendly performances would've panned out in the past month if we were world cup focused.

Bro the entire team is so dull and lethargic on the ball it's unbelievable.
If the exact SE team that played Algeria and Morocco at Afcon played Portugal, they'll beat Portugal by 2goal margin.

Oh yeaaa we need creative midfielderssssss….see ehnnn if we can’t beat DRC and maybe tying us to a draw game, we must learn to pin them down to their half….it was so annoying we all were praying for ref to blow final whistle 😂🤣😂😅….all our boys don gas out…only Nwabali,Bassey and Benjamin fought and kept us till penalties…Osimehn own baba enter dressing room no come out again😂🤣😂
Iwobi confuse
Arokodare comot for attack join defenders🤣😂

I feel for Senegal
Thé match against Norway ain’t sure.
Norway have Halaand, Sorloth, Odegard
If Senegal can be decisive in the final 3rd they should get at least a point. Norway struggling with playing out from the back.

I like as Ronaldo fan boys gentle.
BTW, Benardo used to be good but lately he has been confidently playing rubbish.
The reason people were so hyped about Portugal is due to PSG recent successes.

the Super Eagles needs passing and moving training especially one-two training and passing as soon as they get the ball they are too static that's why they get pinned to their own half and they don't isolate other players by not closing the passing distance between themselves..

Let’s see how they fair in other games but I can’t make conclusions yet with today’s game cos in the game against Jamaica for their play offs they weren’t that inspiring. I wish them the best sha but not too convinced yet

Currently now Morocco is world number 6th…thise guys are gradually breaking our record…they just climbed Portugal now…and spain is also having a free fall from top 5..
Like this Norway is the only team that can leapfrog us if they keep putting up good show..currently Iran who is immediately ahead of us has dropped 4points that may see Nigeria climb to 24th😅😅 or if Norway keep showing some excellent stuff they will overtake both Nigeria and Iran

I believe the reason we could not beat DR CONGO in 90 minutes is not just because they were stronger than us,but because Osimhen couldn't finish that game, he only played 45 minutes, and it was still the time we relied heavily on Osimhen to win a match.

Football is about results nt hypotheticals so using what ifs doesnt change what actually happened on the pitch.

Yeaaa even at some point Morocco also did same…heaping the pressure on us just to get a win while we were cowering to soak pressure and defend till final whistle….thats one aspect of Super eagles i hate to watch.
But we didn’t do that against
Benin
Gabon
Mozambique
Uganda
Algeria

while it was so evident against
Drc
Morocco
Poland(towards the end)
even sometimes we tend to allow SA play us that way(na this one dey vex me paaaaassss)
We suppose dey beat SA with 1-0 make them dey fear say make we no score 2-0 instead we go dey give dem morale to come at us and equalize or pin us to our half….Thats one aspect chelle need to build a different philosophy on

Bernardo had a yellow card which led to him been subbed and was been marked properly by DRC defenders.

DRC is a disciplined team and has integrated most of their foreign borns into the team which the Super Eagles has failed to do, so no one should under-estimate them..

Imagine this Portugal team or any top ten ranked team facing a Nigeria that has Musiala, Olise, Eze, Saka, udogie, Osimhen, Balogun, Danjuma, Adeyemi, Akanji, Alaba e.t.c...

exactly..

the other reason is Osimhen was the main one doing the pressing from the front which made him stress himself....

there was a match where one unknown speedy player Olusegun was playing the RW and also pressing which helped relief Osimhen and allowed the S.E to attack more rather than the opposing team pinning the S.E to their own half.

You are somewhat proving my point. Folks on here lamented that DR Congo wasn't worthy of a WC spot when they lost to the Algerians.

2023 afcon Beat Egypt on Penalty to advance to Quarterfinals, beat Guinea 3-1 and lost in semifinal to a fairytale running CIV 1-0.

I'm not really sure but the keeper had his right foot on the line right?

Must it be both feet?

On Benardo, I'm talking overall, not just because of today's match. He is always wasting time dillying dallying with the ball

At least one foot has to be on the line.
However, the Croatian keeper had both feet off the line; I know the broadcast picture didn’t show a clear picture, but the stadium’s big screen showed the keeper’s two feet clearly off the line before he saved the penalty

A tough call…one thing with african teams especially powerhouse African teams, we don know how to win games we only know how to fight to a draw…Just watch how senegal will lead Norway and still end up drawing or if Norway leads Senegal will be struggling to draw the match
