Wrong. Croatia made up the bulk of Yugoslavia by a large margin, followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina. Czech was never part of the Yugoslavs.
Where did you read this? , I said Czech was part of Czechkoslovakia, while Bosnia and Croatia were part of Yugoslavia.

That was before. These people last played in the world cup in 2006 missing 4 consecutice world cups. They clearly have not been their mighty self for a long while now.
Those countries splitting up really damaged their football only Croatia has managed to make something happen over the years. Eastern European football always had that mix of physicality and technicality most of their western counterparts lacked. The Czechs were trying initially but mhen how bad they have fallen, chai can’t even beat a deficient SA 😂

I really put a lot of hope in that guy. I wouldn't say I'm disappointed but my expectations have not been fulfilled.
In fact I retract my earlier statement

Nwakali at this stage in his career showed flashes of brilliance here and thwre

But this one ehn, "I am in Italy, I don try abeg, make I play mediocre football dey go"

How he keeps getting certain invitw irks me

At 21, he had a solid enough season at Pisa this past season. How is he overrated? Selected for the Afcon off MVP/POTM performances in Serie A and Chelle did not give him a minute of action.

Abeg rest. You know nothing concrete on Akinsanmiro's performances to drop such ignorant comments.

Clearly a ragebait post. smiley
Solid?

Only 3 goal contributions in 34 matches in Pusa as a CM, winger or CAM?

Vros, you sef know say that na mediocre contributions. Except you're not holding him to a high standard

This isn't a ragebait post but I'm just disappointed

It's why I will say - let's calm down with how we praise U-17 and U-20 players, many of them usually don't live up to expectations.

You're right. Though your syntax threw me off. When you say "along with", you're creating a single grammatical list, making it seem like Czech is part of Yugoslavia. But I now realize you meant Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia separately. Thanks.

He played CM, CDM mostly if you saw any of their games which I can bet you did not. So you are giving shallow opinions based on peripheral access to data you did not even witness or understand.

He is 21. Won POTM twice prior to the Afcon and still did not get a minute under Chelle at that tournament. How is that his fault? He has not failed and he is not being overhyped.
You dont want us talking about our U17 and U20 talents in this thread?? How does talking about them and their progress translate to Overhype??

Next thing you will say is dont talk about Zadok too.

Look, tone down your false narratives and say something else. It is clear you are just ragebaiting out of boredom.

Nerd, it's good to praise our players because I know how difficult it's to get to where God has taken them to, I have also reported mostly Akinsanmiro appearance and performance here during Pisa matches, but stop over hyping them because that's what usually leads to expecting too much from them, much more than they can offer. That's how most of you were also hyping Daga to high heaven till the last U20 WC when he showed that he wasn't really talented enough to deserve the hype. Akinsanmiro is good but he is not better than what we have now in the SE and his performance for Pisa last season isn't something that showed he is a super talent like most of you are making him feel like

Akinsanmiro is good but for now, he is not better than the least of the current SE midfielders, Onyedika. Maybe he will improve but I just don't see him being super talented like he is portrayed here.
Before him there was Nwakali brothers and even Ramon Azeez but what came off them? And by eye test they are even far more better than Akinsanmiro

Same way I defended Osimhen too. Chukwueze. Iheanacho and all Nigerian youngsters that deserved a chance then. So quit it already.

This is a thread to talk about and drop progress reports on Nigerian football talents especially from their youth. If you dont like it, delete/unfollow the thread already. Haba.

Again, how does reporting on how a player is actually faring at his club, in a game translating to overhype?? You guys are so ignorant in your constant use of that word. You simply dont want to see reports of those guys. Enough of the coverups. Stop hiding behind this "overhype" you keep spitting.

And on Daga, it is not talent issue. It is character/behavior issue. He got himself into a big mess in Norway and like Amoo, he is now facing it. Both lads are very talented. But rape cases can end you no matter how talented you are especially as a young black footballer.

This is serious cap. Like have you even watched Akin play in Serie A? You think he won MOTM awards in Serie A by displaying a level your mouth/fingers is/are ascribing to him? Nnadi and Akin dont play same role and are different profiles. Akin is yet to play under Chelle (minus a 45mins preAfcon friendly app) so again this is Serious Capping.

Is Samson Tijani better than Akinsanmiro? Did Tijani not impress in Super Eagles colors? Did he not?

Even Nwakali you are referencing... did you folks even want him in the Super Eagles? For years, since Mikel left, we never saw his profile again or anything close until Nwakali yet you guys kept talking him down and even pouring cold water on his solid Afcon 2021 showing.

But now, Nwakali is a reference for some of you to talk down on another midfield youngster that holds a distinct profile and balled in Serie A this past season.

You guys will always be funny. Agenda never ceases.

And let me specially address this emboldened fallacy.

Akinsanmiro was having a great season at Pisa prior to Afcon 2025. If not Eric Chelle would not have called up a recently turned 21y/o for the Afcon.
He won official MOTM award vs Fiorentina... and MOTM awards across renowned stats sites in the 1st half of the Season before he left to honor Chelle's Super Eagles' invite for the Afcon.

Pisa played 13 league games, Akin started 9, came off the bench in 3. Official MOTM in one. Stats sites MOTM in two more. And had an average performance rating of 7.05 (Fotmob) from 12 games.

That form and performance index earned Akin an Afcon call. If he was not doing great, he would not get that Afcon call in the first place.

Even WC winner and ex-pisa coach Gilardino said this after his showing vs Fiorentina...

“The team made the fans proud after a performance like that. Caracciolo, Touré, and Akinsanmiro—who was a driving force—were superb in every way. Along with the one against Bergamo, it was one of our best games.”

He even referenced Bergamo which refers to Atalanta. Akin came off the bench in that game on 61mins and dropped a solid 28mins (100% duels won, 100% passing, 100% tackles won, 2 def contributions, 2 recoveries). Game was 1-1.

Things only slowed as feared after the Afcon because Chelle never even used him at the Afcon and Akin naturally lost his place at Pisa due to coaching changes and the fact they were in relegation waters. He only really got back to reckoning towards the last 10 games of the season.

So biko, take your time to make proper assessments of our lads here and not lazily dropping comments like he did not show his level when you hardly watched him or even properly analysed his situation.

So just because you are a Ronaldo fan boy, you want to talk down Messi's legacies?

How about all the champions league,Copa America, La Liga ,Balon d’or he won,was it also FIFA that helped him to win those trophies.

The debate about who is better or greater between Messi and Ronaldo is no longer relevant.
Messi is the football's greatest of all time.
You better enjoy his presence while it lasts, because the world probably won't see another Messi for generations to come

Popular opinions was Frederick Benjamin not good enough and not better than what we have but now?so you want 21 year old playing for Pisa to dominate Italian league. To you Nwakali and Azeez were better because you saw them playing for our youth system which players likes Akinsanmiro and Zadok Yohanna did not but came through academy.A player from local academy made it to Italian league but to you he is over hype.

To believe in yourself doesn't stop you from being honest and humble.

Any player who is not among the all time greatest rating himself ahead of Okocha in terms of dribbling or skills is just being arrogant and deceives himself, not self belief.

They may be few others whose their dribbling are more effective than Okocha's though,
But Ronaldinho is the only player that can confidently say he is more skillful than Okocha and no one will doubt him.

That guy that rated himself ahead of Okocha is just joking
