Napoleon55:Well said. However, for top competitors in any sphere, you have to believe you are the best, humility about ability isn't necessarily a trait of "successful" people. Am a modest and humble person myself (I believe) however that's often seen as a weakness of the average African or even black person by the westerners. If you don't blow your own trumpet, no one will blow it for you and it will rust. |

TheSuperNerd:Nerd, what has happened to you? Ever since Messi outshined Ronaldo in the first matches played at this WC, you have been angry and not even hiding your anger in most of your post on this thread. Small small brother, it's talent and nature over an overated Ronaldo and there is nothing anyone can do about it. And, to a post you made criticising Henry because he criticised Ronaldo and Portugal after the Congo match, personally I would pick an Henry over Ronaldo in my team (yeah, even though Ronaldo achieved far above Henry and had a better career), same way I would pick Okocha over 95% of 10s that has graced the pitch, and again even though most of them had better careers and achieved more than Okocha |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Napoleon55(m): 2:39pm On Jun 19 |
AndSunGorilla:Everyone knows you have to believe in yourself and have confidence in your ability to achieve anything substantial. If anyone says "I believe I will be better than Messi" people won't have much problem with him per say,but when you say "I'm better than Messi" that's pride talking not confidence, and that's where you will have problems with people, and you might end up not being better than Stanley Okoro. It will only leads to downfall when one thinks humility is overrated |

| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Sugarboyy(m): 3:02pm On Jun 19 |
Napoleon55:But some of you were judging Messi even when he was in Europe, saying he wasn't complete because he didn't played in the EPL. My brother, I said what I said, Ronaldo was a brutal goalscorer and he was intelligent enough to add enough PR to his career. Aside goalscoring, to me he wasn't better than halaand or Nistelrooy |

Napoleon55:Good coaching has for the most parts been a problem for the Super Eagles. That is the reason why a lot of us celebrate Eric Chelle whose modern approach is a step ahead of what we are used to in the Super Eagles. Eric Chelle has a lot to learn, because from what i have seen so far in the matches that he has overseen we may not get the best of the quality we own. I say this from a technical and tactical standpoint as a very sound analyst. Aside techniques and tactics, Eric Chelle's player management especially during matches is mediocre. He overworks some players without an indepth study of these players in order to clearly understand what these players can take at the time. A lot of factors can affect a player's stamina, if Eric Chelle does not improve and we cannot afford a more sound coach then just like what you are trying to imply we should not expect much from the Super Eagles. |

Sugarboyy:lol they will come for you u just read my mind lol I was telling someone weeks ago Ronaldo is just an advanced halaand with enough pr cause aside goal scoring nothing spectacular I have watch Messi drop deep right to the defense create chances him self and still when ahead and score the chance he created from nothing There are level to this football mhen if you watch Argentina first game Messi has lost his speed but you see his intelligence play and swift maneuvering 😂 can still make him play till 40+ |

Title: “Rise Again” [Intro – Deep male vocal] Yeah… Lagos nights, bright dreams. From the roadside hustle to the skyline. We move. We grow. We rise. [Children’s Choir – soft] Rise again, rise again, Never let your hope fade away. Rise again, rise again, Better days are on the way. [Verse 1 – UK Drill/Trap flow] Woke up with the pressure, still chasing the mission, No silver spoon, just faith and ambition. Streetlights flicker, but my vision stay clear, Every loss taught lessons, every setback made me fierce. Mama said, "Stand tall when the road gets steep," So I turned late nights into goals I keep. From the bus stop dreams to the city lights glowing, Planting every seed, now the blessings keep growing. They doubted the kid, now they watch how I move, Pain turned purpose, now I got something to prove. No shortcuts taken, every scar got a story, Head high, heart strong, we were made for the glory. [Pre-Chorus – Melodic male vocal] If I fall, I bounce back stronger, Rain won't last forever. I know my time is coming closer, We rise together. [Chorus – Male vocal + Children’s Choir] I came from the ground, now I'm aiming for the stars, Carrying my people, carrying these scars. No matter how hard, no matter how far, We shine, we shine, that's who we are. [Children’s Choir – louder] Rise again, rise again, Never let your fire burn low. Rise again, rise again, Keep believing, let it show. [Verse 2 – Drill cadence] Every little step, yeah, it adds to the climb, Stayed patient with the grind, now it's all in the timing. Had dreams bigger than the place that I started, Built my future brick by brick, cold-hearted but warm-hearted. Real ones around me, we don't fold under pressure, Turning every challenge into something better. Late nights, early mornings, gotta stay consistent, Success ain't luck, it's commitment and persistence. See the kids looking up, gotta lead by example, Show them any mountain in this life can be handled. No fear in my voice, no doubt in my soul, Eyes on the vision, never letting go. [Bridge – Spoken male vocal] For everyone working when nobody sees… For everyone praying when times get hard… Keep going. Your story isn't finished. [Final Chorus – Male vocal + Children’s Choir] I came from the ground, now I'm aiming for the stars, Carrying my people, carrying these scars. No matter how hard, no matter how far, We shine, we shine, that's who we are. [Children’s Choir – outro] Rise again, rise again, Hope is stronger every day. Rise again, rise again, Your time is on the way. soetanoreoluwa: |

What happened to me how? Oga, biko rest.... I know you are itching so much to tag me a Ronaldo fanboy but that would be hilarious because I dont regard C.Ronaldo as the True GOAT of Football. Neither do I ascribe that to Messi as well. I believe he and Messi are Two GOATs in the GOATs Club and should be respected but there are the Super Complete gods in Pele and Maradona as well. For Messi, I would not have even liked a red card for that bad tackle on Mandi but a yellow at least to hide the favoritism. So that Ronaldo fanboy angle is dead on arrival. I just spoke the truth on why Henry subtly still talks like a Ronaldo hater. I cant take his views seriously on Ronaldo. Same with Zlatan. Coz I know where both come from. But also, no way is Thierry Henry is being taken over Cristiano Ronaldo by serious coaches. They are not on same level abeg. C.Ronaldo is not overrated. Kill that talk. You think say C.Ronaldo na same level with Akinsanmiro abi... for you to throw the "overrated" word again. Very funny of you. Sugarboyy: |

That is where he missed the plot. Calling a whole C.Ronaldo "overrated". He is a messi fanboy thinking he was addressing a Ronaldo fanboy. I know both camps well. Anyway, na Naija talents centrally carry me come here. Not Messi or Ronaldo biko. Make both of them do retire, make we see road for the true stars of today's game like Mbappe, Haaland, and even Osimhen Napoleon55: |

GMBOFASIA:Answer one question, did you watch Man U's version of Ronaldo? I can't be biased about Ronaldo's talent just because I like Messi. We should give everyone the respect they deserve. All those players he mentioned are great but they are not on Ronaldo's level. |

WAFU U20 Tourney: Chelle charges Flying Eagles on focus, diligence Super Eagles’ Head Coach, Éric Chelle has charged Nigeria’s U20 boys, Flying Eagles to be focused as the team intensifies preparations ahead of the WAFU B U20 Men's football tournament taking place in Cote d’Ivoire next month. The Super Eagles tactician made the plea when he visited the team inside the main bowl of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Friday morning, shortly after the team played against Bussdor United as part of preparations for the WAFU B U20 tournament. The two-time FIFA World Cup silver-medallists won the friendly game 5-0. "If you want to succeed, go far to achieve your dreams, you have to be focused and secondly, listen attentively to your coaches. "If you do these, the sky will definitely be your starting point and chances for you to succeed is high," Chelle counselled. In his remark, Flying Eagles head coach, Abdu Maikaba thanked the Super Eagles gaffer for the visit and further added the team is focused on having a good outing at the forthcoming regional tournament.

TheSuperNerd:As you reply without anger so, anybody die? Continue to follow this pathway 😁 That said, maybe that's because in not a coach because if I were, as earlier stated, I would pick Henry to be part of my team over Ronaldo. Secondly, ascribing Ronaldo to be another goat, on the same pedestrian with Messi is totally wrong... Lastly, what makes Pele and Maradona better than Messi? Messi defined his era and he is still defining this Gen Z era, which I don't believe Pele and Maradona would have had same stats they had in their era if they play in this Gen Z era. |
